Color/shape/number book

Here is a little book I made for part of a shower gift. Below you can see the Alphabet book and farther down the "Xavier" book that I gave with it. This was a new idea for me and boy did I have to experiment with this one. Each "page" is made with a toilet paper tube. I saw the whole mini book idea online and liked it and adapted it for colors, shapes and numbers. Each 'page' is laminated and has a tag inside.

Here you can see all the colors that are included. I punched a hole in the end of each one with my Crop-a-dile and put them all on a binder ring.

These are the tags. Each one is a corresponding color to the tube page.

The backs of the tags each have a corresponding number. So there is 1 red heart, 2 orange circles, 3 yellow flowers and so on. Everyone seemed to love this little 'book' Everything is laminated, so hopefully it will last a long time. Sure hope little Xavier learns his colors, shapes and numbers with it.
I did have some problems with designing it and need to work on the design a bit more. When I really get all the kinks worked out, I will make some more of them as gifts and/or to sell in my Etsy shop.
Thanks for stopping by, leave me a comment and let me know what you think of my little book.

  1. This is sooo neat! What a great way to recycle something we all have in our house too. I will have to remember this one. Oh and love the ABC book!

  2. Very clever! I have seen those toilet paper roll book ideas, even saved a bunch of rolls to make one, but haven't gotten around to it. I have also seen them made with paper towel rolls.
