Wedding

 Hello everyone!
Just a short post to say I'll be taking a little break.
My daughter got married on May 13th and although
I tried to keep up with taking pictures and writing posts,
I was just too busy to get that done.
Now after the wedding I have come down with a pretty
awful cold.  No it's not Covid, thank goodness, none the less,
I'm not feeling very well.
Hopefully, I'll be feeling better in a few days and will be able to
share some of the fun things we did for her wedding with y'all.
Until then I'll leave you with this picture of the happy couple.

Aren't they a beautiful couple?
Thanks for stopping by,
I'll see you again soon.

Embossing Powder Technique

Hello!  I'm glad you are here for a visit.
Today I have a few cards to show you.
I saw this video where embossing powder was used on
parchment paper and she was able to peel it up to use
as an embellishment.
I didn't have any parchment when I wanted to give it a go,
so I tried a couple other kinds of paper.
Nothing worked the way it did in the video, but I still
got some interesting backgrounds to use.
This one was done on gold vellum.
I heat embossed the sentiment to add to the card front.
This one, I used the backing from some labels
thinking that since it was a type of release paper,
the embossing may peel off.  It didn't, but
I used the background anyway.
This is another one done with the
label release paper.
Here is another one from the vellum.
This one I did on a shiny silver metallic card stock
and I think it may be my favorite.
This one was done on a piece of deli paper.
Although none of them worked out the way they
did on the video, I'm happy with how they turned out and
the cards I made with them.
I've re-watched the video and plan to give it a try
with the parchment paper that she suggests using.
I'll surly post what I get when I try it the way she
shows in the video.
Never hurts to give new techniques a try, even when they
don't turn out how you hoped.  I love how these cards turned out and
I've already used a few of them.

Thanks for stopping by today,
I hope you have been inspired in some way and will
come again soon.
Until then,
watch a video and learn a new technique.

Baptism Card

Good day blog fans!
I hope you're having a wonderful day.
Today I have a card to show you.
I made this for my newest great nephew
for his baptism.
I saw something like this somewhere on line
and loved the idea and went with it.
I can't tell you what companies made the different
stamps, as I just went through my stash and pulled
out anything that was a heart and this is what
I came up with.
I love the look of all the different colors of paper
and ink.  It's hard to tell that there are different inks,
but each heart is different and some are heat embossed.
The sentiment was hand written and I will write a personal
note to him on the inside.
This style of card could be used for any occasion.

Thanks for stopping by today to see what I've been
up to.  I hope you'll come again soon.
Until then,
try some variety.

Tie Dye Card

Hi blog friends!
For Easter I tried something different for coloring
my eggs.  I wrapped the eggs in a coffee filter,
then dripped food coloring onto the filter.
I left them sit for a while in a plastic bag.
This is the effect I got.
I saved the coffee filters to use on
some cards.

This is the card that I made the other day
with the dyed coffee filter.
I really like it.
I think it will be sent to my granddaugher, Marie with
"You make my heart smile."
inside.  I think it's a very happy card.
I haven't used the other filter yet, I'm sure I'll
end up making a card with it one day.

Thanks for spending part of your day with me,
I hope you'll stop by again soon.
Until then,
use something you'd usually throw away for
a card or other project.

Leveling Up To Husband

Hello Crafty people!
Today I have a shirt to show you.
My son was organizing a small bachelor party for my
future son in law and asked me to make a shirt for Brad.
Jaryd gave me the idea and I went with it.
Of course, I first had the wrong kind of controller.
Who knew there was a difference between
x-box and Play station controllers?

I think it turned out nice and Jaryd and Brad were
both happy with it.
Good thing he likes to wear his shirts on the
larger side.
Here's a picture of Brad and Jaryd
the day of the party.
It was a last minute project, but I think
it turned out great.

Thanks for stopping in today,
I hope you're having a nice crafty day.
Come again soon,
you never know what you'll see on
Kristie Kreates!
