Asher's First Halloween

Happy Halloween everyone!
Today I have a sweet Halloween Pumpkin to
share with y'all.
My daughter in law told me what she wanted to do
for a Halloween picture of my sweet 4 month old
grandson, Asher and wondered if I could do
something for a hat for him.
This is what I came up with.  I had no measurements
or pattern and just flew by the seat of my pants.
I had the right yarns in my stash and pulled out
the crochet hooks and got started.
I just wanted something that would sit on top
of his head, and it worked out perfect.
Is he just the cutest little pumpkin boy you
have ever seen?
I'm glad the "hat" sat on top of his head like this
rather than pull down over his head.
It's perfect, just like he is.
I hope y'all are having a fun Halloween
and enjoying all the costumes and goodies.

Thanks for stopping by today and
spending a little time with me.
I hope you'll come again soon.
Until then,
fly by the seat of your pants,
you never know how nice something
might turn out till you try.

Small Poppy Card

Welcome to Kristie Kreates!
Today I have a little card to show you.  I made it
with a poppy that I had stamped and colored, but never
 used.
I fussy cut the image and used foam tape
to give a little dimension to the card.
I mounted the poppy onto light green card stock
then onto a white card base.
This is a small card that could be used as a gift enclosure,
or it could be sent through the mail as long as it's in
an envelope that is large enough.
This is one of my favorite stamps and is
from Stacy Stamps, but apparently she has gone
out of business, as her website no longer seems to exist.

Thanks for spending some time with me today,
come again soon.
Until then,
use some favorite stamps and supplies.

You are so Beautiful Card

Good day lovely people!
Today I have another card that I made from
my stash of unfinished pieces.
I have a small pad of images that are printed in gold foil
to be colored.
I had colored this image and never did anything with it.
It was simple to make into a card, just trim it down and
mounted it onto a pink mat and then onto a card base.
I know this isn't a good picture, but it shows the gold
of the image.  It really is beautiful in person.

Thanks for spending some time with me today,
I hope you have been inspired in some way.
Come again soon,
until then,
let someone know they are beautiful.

Fall Card

Hi everyone!
Since fall has been here for a little bit now,
I thought I'd share this fall card with you.
This is one of the cards I found when going through
my stash that I had never finished.
All I needed to do was to add the sentiment,
the leaf branch and the dash lines and I
now have a beautiful fall card.
I'll probably send this out for Thanksgiving to
family or friends.

So glad you came by today.
Come again soon.
Until then,
be thankful.

Port Pillows

Hello crafty people!
Recently one of my daughter's best friends was
diagnosed with breast cancer.
She is only 27 yrs old.
It is stage 2 and she is now having chemo, then will
have a double mastectomy.
I wanted to do something for her and asked if she had a link
to a head wrap or something that she would like me to
get for her.  She showed me a picture of
"port pillows"
I found a very basic video showing how to make them.
I then kind of did my own thing and made some
for her using some fleece that I had in my stash of fabrics.
They measure about 4x7"
They open easily with Velcro
and attach to your seat belt and can be placed over
the port that is under their skin for their chemo treatments
to be administered through.
These are an easy thing to make that will help a cancer patient
to be more comfortable.
I also got her some soft cushions to attach to her
bra straps to help make her more comfortable.
My local Buy Nothing Group has also been very generous
and I received a LOT of scarves, wraps and hats to give her.
Her hair was starting to fall out, so she cut it all off.
She's a strong young lady and is rocking the baldness and
I just know she is going to kick cancer's butt.

Thanks for stopping by today,
I hope you'll come again.
Until then,
Help someone be more comfortable!

Halloween Cards 2

Hello!
My last post I showed you a couple Halloween cards.
Today I have the other 2 that I made to share with you.
I started with this background piece that I had in my stash.
I used alcohol inks on a coffee filter, then cut the filter
to size and adhered it to a piece of card stock.
When I was ready to use it, I ran it through my Cuttlebug
in an embossing folder to get some texture.
I stamped the witch with black ink and colored in the
other areas with colored pencils.
Once it was fussy cut, it was adhered to the card.
For the sentiment, I stamped the spider web, then
the greeting and fussy cut around some of the web.
I used the same web stamp for the BOO greeting
for the inside sentiment.
Used the same witch stamp for this card and adhered it
to an alcohol inked background along with the sentiment.
Inside I used the same stamps and added some other
spider webs in the corners.
I loved making these cards, my biggest problem
is deciding which kids get which cards.

I'm glad you stopped by today and hope you have
enjoyed it and have been inspired in some way.
Hope you'll come again soon.
Until then,
enjoy the season!

Halloween Cards

Welcome!
Halloween will be here before we know it,
so I decided I better get a few cards made.
Today I have 2 of those cards to share with you.
This one was very simple to make.  I sketched a
pumpkin and cut it out, then traced it onto the back of
this burlap "paper" and assembled the pieces into
a jack o lantern.
I found the background paper in my stash and thought
it would be perfect for the background.
I used the left over piece of the background paper inside the card,
stamped the web, spider and sentiment onto a piece of
white card stock, mounted them and I was all set.
This card was also very simple.
The color doesn't show up correctly for some reason,
it's actually a dark purple color.
I stamped the ghosts with white ink, then fussy cut one more
and mounted it over one of the ghosts.
Stamped Happy Halloween and was all set with the front
of the card.
For the inside of the card, I stamped the spider web,
then the BOO over the top of it.
I cut around the BOO and adhered it inside the card.
These are very simple ways to make cards pretty quickly.
I really like how they turned out.

Thanks for stopping in today,
I hope you've been inspired in some way.
Come again soon and I'll show you a couple more
Halloween cards.
Until then,
BOO!!!

Happy Mail

Hello!
Have you ever given or received Happy Mail?
Happy mail can be anything that you want it to be.
Many crafters give and receive things that can be used
in projects, what ever they may be.
I decided to share some things from my stash with my
friend Mary and made up a little envelope of
items to use in her junk journal making.
She has gotten me into making junk journals too.
This is the card I made and sent with the goodies.
I used some of my stash of eco-dyed papers to
make this card.  I thought 'be creative' was perfect
for this card for her.
These are some of the items I sent her,
most of them are from old books or catalogs
that I have collected. There are some stickers in there too.
I had some die cuts that I cut for her and some pieces of
papers and cork, tags and cards and a bit of ribbon.
You never know what you can use in a junk journal,
anything goes.
Hopefully she will be able to use these goodies and
enjoy them.

Thanks for popping over today and spending some time
with me.
Have you gotten into the junk journal craze?
I love making them and seeing what I can come up with
using some of my "junk"
Come again soon and I'll show you some pages from one
of the junk journals that I recently made.
Until then,
check out junk journalling videos and see if it's
something you'd enjoy.
