General Cards from Stash

Good day my crafty followers.

Today I have a couple quick and easy cards 

to show you.

I had some pages from an old planner that my 

daughter gave me, so I decided to use them

for cards.

I simply fussy cut some of the flowers and leaves

for this one and adhered them to a card base.

I stamped a sentiment on the front and was done.

For this one, I simply cut the page to size,

and adhered it to a card front.

I then used a die set to cut the hello and it's

shadow and adhered them to the front as well.

It's hard to see in these pictures, but these pieces

both have some beautiful gold foiling on them.

The vellum in the lower card is gold.

On the inside of this card, you can barely see some

trim on the inside of the card.  
I cut a piece of polkadot card stock from one of the

pages just to give it a little pop on the inside of the card.

I do love how these cards turned out.

They were quick and easy to make

and used some more of my never ending stash.

Valentines for Family

Hello Everyone!

Today I'm showing you the 

Valentine's cards I made for my family.

I don't always send out Valentine's, but 

I needed to make a couple and just decided to

keep going.

I just went with things I had available and

created as I went.
I'm pretty happy with the way they turned ou.

This one goes to my hubby.

This one to my son and daughter in law.

This to my grandson.

2022 Christmas Ornaments

Hello!

It's that time of year to be thinking about what

to make for Christmas.

Every year, for the past several years, I have made 

Christmas ornaments for the family.

In 2022, it was a very busy and tumultuous time for us.

It was getting late and I had to think of a Christmas

ornament to make.

I came up with these gnomes.

They were very quick and easy to make and the family

loved them.  There are a lot of different video's on how to

make ornaments like these on YouTube.
I watched a couple and combined ideas from

them and got to work.

I used the yarn that I had in my stash and made 

several different colors and styles of yarn.

So each one is unique.

I didn't have the beads I intended to use for the noses,

so I used what I had and that happened to be

a variety of colors of little pom poms.

I added little heart gems or Christmas

embellishments to the hat of each gnome

and also made little tags with the year on them.

All in all I made about of dozen of these ornament.

My daughter told me that she thinks we should continue

this tradition forever.
I responded that I would continue until I was old and

feeble.  She said that she would take it up after that.

Warm Fuzzies

Hello and welcome creative people.

Today I have a card to share with you.

I was going through a stash of images that I found

in my craft space that I had totally forgotten about.

I found this one and decided that I needed to make it into

a card for my grand kids.

I colored and flocked this several years ago and 

I'm not sure what company it's from or if it's even available

any longer.

I colored the caterpillar, then added a little bit of glue

to areas on the little guy.

I then added green flocking for a fuzzy look.

I went through my background stash and found

one that I felt matched with the image and used that for

the background panel.

I think the kids will get a kick out of this card.

I think it's adorable.

Inspire Card

Good day everyone!

A couple posts ago I shared a 

herringbone background like this one.

Here is another card I made with the pieces

I made in my play session

I used some left over pieces from my stash

to make this background, so it was a good 

'use your stash' project.

I happened to have a scrap of card stock sitting

on my work area with butterflies on it.

So I fussy cut one of them and added it to

the card.

The sentiment was from an old set from my

stash.

When you have some scraps on hand, or a background

piece that you have made and put into your stash,

it's easy and fast to get a card together.

Alcohol Ink Stash Card

Good day to you all!

Today I have a card that I made when I decided to 

just use papers from my stash of  background papers 

that I made in the past.

I challenged myself to use this background piece that

I wasn't all that crazy about.

I decided to embrace the circles, so I punched out

the scalloped circles from another piece from my stash,

then the small circles from a scrap of the orange piece.

I layered them up and adhered it to a scrap of yellow card stock.

I stamped the sentiment on another scrap of yellow card stock.

Added onto a white card base and it was done.

This is a little different than my usual style,

but I think I did pretty good with a piece I didn't care for.

Spin Painting Clean Up #3

Hello creative people!

Today I have one more card that I made from 

the spin painting clean up.

After spin painting with Marie, the paint dried onto

the inside of the salad spinner that we used.

I peeled that paint off and glued it onto

pieces of card stock.

For this card, I layered the piece with the paint onto

black card stock, which I think really sets it off.

I then layered that onto a piece of hand made paper that I

had from a paper making session a few months ago.

I like he rough tear on the hand made paper for this

card.  It was then adhered to a white card base.

The inside was left blank to be used for whatever 

it is needed for.

Using What I Have

Hi crafty people!

Today I'm showing you a couple cards that I 

made, using some of the things in my stash.

The background piece is a piece of card stock 

from my stash of gelli prints.  I've had it a long time,

so have no idea exactly how I made it.  Probably just 

craft paints on my gelli plate.
The leaves are some eco printing that I did, by placing 

leaves onto card stock and running them through my 

Cuttlebug

The shine sentiment is from a random set in my stash.

Once it was stamped onto a piece of the eco print card,

it was layered onto a piece of the gelli print card.

This purple and turquoise background piece was made with

Dylusion sprays that were sprayed onto a piece of photo paper.

The leaves were an eco print from my stash.

I decided to leave this with no sentiment on the outside

or the inside to make it a note card to be used for 

whatever I need at the time.

Hello crafty friends!

Today I have a card to share with you.

This was made with some things I had on my desk

and in my stash.

I had gotten this hexagon die from Temu

and was trying it out in different ways.

It was sitting on my desk and I decided to 

use it for a card.  I had cut the "outline" with the

die and cut another with different paper.  I simply

glued the pieces into the outline on a piece of

pink card stock.
I cut that to size and adhered it to a card base.

The "be yourself" was from a set of printed sentiments

 from my stash and layered onto another piece of  pink 

card stock, and my card was done.

This card is only 3.25" x 4.50"

so it's a small one but I love it.

Spin Painting Clean Up

Hello and welcome!  

Today I have a few cards to show you.

Back in April, I did some "spin painting" with 

Marie.  Once we were done, there was quite a bit of

paint in the inside of the salad spinner.
I let it dry and then peeled it off.

Me, being the crafty saver that I am, kept the pieces of 

peeled off paint.  I glued them to pieces of paper/card stock.

This week I decided to create from my stash and 

pulled them out.  Here are a few of the cards I made with

the spin painting clean up.

All these cards were pretty simple to make, since I pretty

much had the focal piece ready to go.

I mounted this piece onto pink, then a black mat and 

decided that a piece of hand made paper would be perfect

behind it.  Then onto a white card base and it's good to go.

With this one I decided on some bright colors to match

the paint colors.

I pulled some scraps from my stash, 

then mounted onto a card base.

I had the little sentiment stamp in my stash and have

no idea what company it's from.

Inside I use a sentiment from the same set of stamps, 

mounted on a piece of the purple mulberry paper.

This card is larger than the others, they are A2 size and

this one is a full sheet of card stock folded in half,

so it's 5.5" x 8.5"

It was the largest paint piece and I wanted to keep it

together, so larger card it was.

Simple card with a sentiment.

I think you can see the texture of the paint better in this

picture.  It had dripped down the side of the bowl and then

dried.

One more angle showing the texture.

I love this one.  To me it looks like a flying dragon.

Maybe you don't see that, but that's okay.

I love the drama of it being on black.

The orange at the top and bottom and that the sentiment

is mounted on are from my stash of alcohol ink backgrounds

that I have made.

I didn't put a sentiment inside these cards, except for the

Dream card.  I will either stamp them or write in them

when I decided to use them.

Whimsical Card

Hello crafty people!

Today I have a simple card to show you.

I embossed a piece of white card stock with an embossing

folder and my Cuttlebug for the background.

"Smile" was stamped onto a piece of water colored

card stock from my stash and adhered to the background then

adhered to the front of a card base.

Inside I stamped this whimsical greeting and

added a strip of the water colored card stock at the 

bottom.

And Done!

You Are My Sunshine Valentine Card

Hello y'all!

Today I have another Valentine's Card to show you.

The back ground is a piece of alcohol inked 

glossy card stock from my stash.

I die cut a heart and off set it to the right to give a

little more interest to the card.

I stamped the sentiment and drew my dash lines and

all that was left was to adhere it all to a white card base,

and of course, stamp a sentiment inside.
The Happy Valentine's Day inside was stamped with 

a Dyan Reaveley alpha stamp set

I love this stamp set, it is quite large, but it works for me.

Thank Full Journal - Junk Journal Style

I've been bitten by the junk journal bug!

I have made journals in the past and learned how

to make hand sewn signatures and such, but 

I guess, it was last spring I got interested in 

junk journals.  In June I made my first one and 
I'm now loving making them.
I made this one for a friend after seeing a 

video by Nik The Booksmith
where she made a "thought-full" book.

I combined her idea with a junk journal and 

now have made a few "thought full journals"

This is the outside of the journal.  I made the whole thing

from scratch, cover and all.  I used some canvas that I 

had sprayed with ink sprays to cover the cover.

I braided embroidery floss and wrapped it around buttons

attached to the front for a closure.

I can't show you all the pages I made, this would be a 

way too long post with all the pictures, so I picked a few

and will show you them.

This is the inside cover, I used paper that I created by

dipping string into paints, swirling them onto the page,

covering it and then pulling it out the bottom of the page.

Here is one of my blog posts about this technique.

My friend is a bit fan of Janet Evanovich, so I used the

dust cover from one of her books to create this page,

with a belly band.

I used some printed and embossed velum that has been in my 

stash for a long time for the page on the left.  I bought

it because I loved it, but then never found a use for it, until

now.  The page on the right has a large tuck area that is

made with some eco-printed paper from my stash.

I made a tag to go into the tuck too.

Using book pages and music is great for journals.

I used some lyrics for the page and sheet music for the

pockets.  The front is a piece of eco-printed paper.
Here is a video explaining how to make these

pockets.

I used some of my alcohol inked background papers for the

page on the left and created a diagonal belly band with 

a coordinating piece.
The page on the right is part of a page from a very old

book on how to manage your household money.

On the left, more eco-printed paper and on the right

I used some instructions from an old sewing pattern.

The purple is some paper that I made a while back, it's

thicker than regular paper, so really lent itself to being

decorative.

Guess I've chosen several eco-printed pages for this post.

Here is another one.

I have a very small dictionary that I picked up at a 

recycle store and I love using the pages from it in my

journals, this one I have starred "flowery" since it is

on the page next to the eco-printed flowers.

An alcohol ink back ground, with an ink sprayed piece of

canvas for a tuck spot and a tag from eco-print paper on the left.

The right is a page for her to write about memories.

This page is a page that I colored from an adult coloring book.

Every wonder what to do with those colored pages, well

cut them up and use them in a journal, they are also

great to cut up to make cards.
The pocket on the left is simply a piece of card stock with lines 

to outline it and a small journaling tag.

The bottom right is a picture of M&Ms from a magazine

that I fussy cut and made into a small pocket.

This is one of the center pages in a signature.  It's a cover from

some very old sheet music.  I love the picture and there is 

a poem on it.  I think it's beautiful and she can write on it and still 

be able to see the picture, if she wants.

Here is the inside back cover.  Another piece that I made.

This time using paints and a gelli plate.

This is where I added the buttons that hold the 

string that closes the book.

Well, that's all I have for this journal.

I'm sure I'll be posting more about my journals,

I have made a few more already and intend to make even

more of them.  I love creating something from things I have

and things that are old.
