Thanksgiving Turkey Card

Hello everyone!
I hope you are having a wonderful day.
Do you send out Thanksgiving cards?
Sometimes I do and some times I don't.
I happened to find this turkey all colored and
ready to go, in my stash.
I fussy cut him and added him to a
pieced panel that I had just made.
I thought the colors were perfect for a
fall/Thanksgiving themed card.
On the inside I used a small strip of the
front panel that I had cut off, just to
give it a little more interest.
I think I'll be sending this card to my
100 yr old Aunt in North Carolina.
Who doesn't love to receive a card in the mail?
If you send out cards for Thanksgiving, have
you made them yet?

Thanks for coming to spend a little time
here, I hope you have been inspired in some way.
Come again soon.
Until then,
get those cards made and
ready to go.

Inspire Card

Good day everyone!
A couple posts ago I shared a
herringbone background like this one.
Here is another card I made with the pieces
I made in my play session
I used some left over pieces from my stash
to make this background, so it was a good
'use your stash' project.
I happened to have a scrap of card stock sitting
on my work area with butterflies on it.
So I fussy cut one of them and added it to
the card.
The sentiment was from an old set from my
stash.
When you have some scraps on hand, or a background
piece that you have made and put into your stash,
it's easy and fast to get a card together.

Thanks for spending some time with me today.
I hope you'll come again soon.
Until then,
use your stash.

Halloween Card

Hello!  Happy fall.
Since it's now officially fall, I'm showing you
a little Halloween card that I made.
I had seen this technique for the background and
had made a few pieces to try it out.
I then found some images that I had colored and
had been in my stash for a while.
I thought one of my grand children would love it,
so I fussy cut it and added it to the front of the card.
I used foam tape to adhere the image to the
card to give it some dimension.
I think this turned out very cute.
Do you send out Halloween cards?

Thanks for stopping by today, I hope
you have been inspired in some way.
Come again soon.
Until then,
embrace the season.

Alcohol Ink Stash Card

Good day to you all!
Today I have a card that I made when I decided to
just use papers from my stash of  background papers
that I made in the past.
I challenged myself to use this background piece that
I wasn't all that crazy about.
I decided to embrace the circles, so I punched out
the scalloped circles from another piece from my stash,
then the small circles from a scrap of the orange piece.
I layered them up and adhered it to a scrap of yellow card stock.
I stamped the sentiment on another scrap of yellow card stock.
Added onto a white card base and it was done.
This is a little different than my usual style,
but I think I did pretty good with a piece I didn't care for.

Thanks for coming by to check out what I've been creating.
I hope you'll come again soon.
Until then,
try working with something different and out of your
comfort zone.

Spin Painting Clean Up #2

Hello and welcome!
Today I have a couple more cards that I made
with the clean up from doing spin painting with
Marie.
This is the paint that was dried onto the inside
of the salad spinner after making some
spin painting prints.
I simply peeled it off and glued it to
pieces of card stock.
I wanted to do something a little different for this
card, so I adhered the piece with the paint onto
a piece of white card stock.
I folded that and adhered it to a piece of
heavy weight hand made paper.
The hand made paper was torn to A2 size.
Inside I stamped this sentiment from my stash.
I love how this card turned out, it's a little outside
the box for me and I love it.
I had this small piece of "paint clean up" on an odd
sized piece of card stock, so I cut it down to add
to the side of a card.
I then added the sentiment onto black card stock and
onto a piece of mulberry paper.
I left the inside blank on this one.

So glad you stopped by today,
I hope you have been inspired in some way
and will come again.
Until then,
use something that is usually thrown away
to make something creative.

For Journal, Layout, or Card

Good day crafters!
Today I have a simple little piece to show you.
A couple posts ago, I showed you a card that I
made using an embossed background.
I only used part of the background for that card and
wanted to do something with the other half.
This is what I made.  Quick, simple and it can
be used in several different ways.
I simply punched out a star from a scrap piece of
corrugated card, adhered it to the background
piece and stamped 'Shine' onto the piece.
Done!
This can be used to add to the front of a card base,
as a journalling card for a scrapbook layout,
or for a tag or card in a junk journal.
It could even be used on the front of a
journal or note book/pad.
I think I will probably use it in one
of the junk journals that I'm making.
This is just another way to make use of your scraps,
this piece measures approximately 3x4"

Thanks to coming by to see what I've been
 working on lately.
I hope you have found some inspiration here and
will come again soon.
Until then,
use your scraps!

"Mickey" Cards

Hello creative people!
Today I have a couple cards to show you.
I decided that I wanted to send a card to my
2 great nephews, they are going to Disney for
a vacation, so I thought something Mickey themed would
be perfect.
It's hard to see the background paper under the
patterned vellum, but it is a piece that I created
with alcohol inks.  The blue and green were a great
match for that piece.  I adhered the vellum piece to the
inked piece with Bearly Arts Glue, I love that glue,
it is great for vellum and barely shows on the 'clear'
spots, and doesn't show at all in the areas that are printed,
even though they are translucent.
I decided to use some corrugated paper that I had in my
stash as a mat on the card and I love the look.
I then made this card with the same technique, but
with different colors.  I decided to add the Mickey head,
but it needed something to make it stand out on the card.
I punched a circle from the corrugated paper and
mounted the Mickey head and that did the trick.
This is the card I sent to the boys, hopefully they will
like it as much as I do.
I've been challenging myself to use up scraps and
to think outside the box lately and I'm having a
great time doing that.  These cards are very different
than what I usually create and I love them.

Thanks for stopping by today, I'm always
glad to have you check out what I've been up to.
I hope you'll come again soon.
Until then,
use those scraps!

Post It Notes Holders

Hello everyone!
My last post showed a few cards I found while
reorganizing my craft room.
Today I'm showing you some Post It Note holders
that I also found.
These are very simple to make.
I'm thinking I need to use them as little stocking stuffers,
or perhaps as part of goodie bags at our next crop.
My husband always has scrap matting, so I have plenty to
use in my crafting.  You could use any kind of chip board
or even cereal boxes, which you may have to glue 2 together, so
they would be strong enough.  Use what you have.
I cut the mats into 4"x4" pieces and rounded the corners.
You don't have to round the corners, but I just like the look.
One piece was covered with scrapbook paper.
The other I cut 2 sides of a triangle, as shown above,
and bent it back to make a stand.
The cut across the bottom is 1.5" across.
I measured up from the end of that cut, about 3" and cut
diagonally from the other end of the cut up to the 3" mark.
This worked out perfectly.
Before adhering the 2 pieces together I added some ribbon across
the top of the front piece, about 1" down from the top,
gluing it only on the back of the piece.
I also added some embellishments to the upper right corner.
Then I glued the 2 pieces together.
The Post It Note pad easily slips over the ribbon and this
can sit on a desk or counter and have notes handy at any time.
Here are a few of the other holders that I found.
I think they are pretty cute and are great for using up some of
your scraps.  They make a nice little gift and are very
inexpensive to make.

I'm glad you stopped in today,
and I hope you have been inspired in some way.
Maybe you'll use some of your scraps to make
some of these, they are easy peasy.
Come again soon,
until then
find a use for some of you scraps!

Guardian Angel

Hi!
It's getting to be that time of year again.
Time to work on Christmas decorations and
gifts.
Last year our granddaughter, Marie, was 1 yr old.
It was her 2nd Christmas, but the first year that she
had a clue about what was going on.
Marie has a "Guardian Angel" that
she will receive a little gift from each
Christmas.  Her angel has decided that she
will always receive an angel of some kind from her.
In 2020 she received this little angel ornament.
Here is a tutorial on how to make this
angel ornament.

Thanks for stopping in today,
I hope you'll give these little ornaments a try.
They are really very easy to make and look lovely
on a tree.
Come again soon,
you never know what you'll find on
Kristie Kreates!

Birthday Card

Hello!
It looks like fall is here, at least in our area it is.
How about in your area?
Today I'm showing you a card I made for my daughter's
boyfriend for his birthday.
I started by embossing a piece of brown card stock
with an embossing folder.  I don't know who made it
as it was just in my stash waiting to be used.
theme.
After it was embossed, I used a sanding block over
the trees to give them a bit more detail and dimension.
I cut the Happy Birthday! with my
Silhouette Cameo and punched the leaves with
a punch from my stash,
using pieces from my recycle box.
Great way to use up some little scraps.
On the inside I wrote a personal note
to him.
I, like many, struggle with masculine cards in general.
I'm not totally crazy about this card, but I think it
turned out nice and I think he appreciated it.

Thanks for visiting!
I hope you'll come again soon.
Until then,
use some scraps.

Painting With Leaves

Hello blog friends!
Welcome back, I'm glad you've stopped in today.
Today I'm showing you a card I made with some scraps
from a background that I made.
I gathered some leaves and used them like stamps with
paints.  I simply painted the leaves, then pressed them onto some
white card stock, then lifted the leaves.
The background turned out beautifully, I used it for a larger
project that I will show in a future post.
I'm so glad I kept the scrap pieces, as they really made a
beautiful card.
I used metallic gold card stock to accent the gold in the
leaf prints and I love the effect.
The metallic look of the gold paint and card stock
doesn't show up in the pictures, but in real life it's beautiful.

I hope you have been inspired in some way today,
maybe to use something different or out of the ordinary
as a stamp, or maybe just to use your scraps.
Come again soon,
until then:
Try something new and different!

Flowers and Hearts

Hello crafters!
Today I have some cards and book marks to show you.
I recently saw a video, I'm sorry I don't know whose
it was, and she made flowers with hearts.
I took the idea and went with it and here's what I
came up with.
I used scrap pieces of backgrounds that I made with
alcohol inks.
Some hearts I punched, but most of the large ones
I cut freehand.

Thanks for coming by today.
I hope y'all are doing well and keeping
yourselves busy during this health crisis.
Maybe you can use up some of your scraps
to make some cards or book marks like these.
You can use any kind of paper and they
will turn out cute.
Until next time,
stay safe, stay healthy and stay busy.
