Post It Notes Holders

Hello everyone!
My last post showed a few cards I found while
reorganizing my craft room.
Today I'm showing you some Post It Note holders
that I also found.
These are very simple to make.
I'm thinking I need to use them as little stocking stuffers,
or perhaps as part of goodie bags at our next crop.
My husband always has scrap matting, so I have plenty to
use in my crafting.  You could use any kind of chip board
or even cereal boxes, which you may have to glue 2 together, so
they would be strong enough.  Use what you have.
I cut the mats into 4"x4" pieces and rounded the corners.
You don't have to round the corners, but I just like the look.
One piece was covered with scrapbook paper.
The other I cut 2 sides of a triangle, as shown above,
and bent it back to make a stand.
The cut across the bottom is 1.5" across.
I measured up from the end of that cut, about 3" and cut
diagonally from the other end of the cut up to the 3" mark.
This worked out perfectly.
Before adhering the 2 pieces together I added some ribbon across
the top of the front piece, about 1" down from the top,
gluing it only on the back of the piece.
I also added some embellishments to the upper right corner.
Then I glued the 2 pieces together.
The Post It Note pad easily slips over the ribbon and this
can sit on a desk or counter and have notes handy at any time.
Here are a few of the other holders that I found.
I think they are pretty cute and are great for using up some of
your scraps.  They make a nice little gift and are very
inexpensive to make.

I'm glad you stopped in today,
and I hope you have been inspired in some way.
Maybe you'll use some of your scraps to make
some of these, they are easy peasy.
Come again soon,
until then
find a use for some of you scraps!

Goodie Bags for Crop

Good Day!
In October we had a
"Girlfriends and Gratitude Crop"
to raise some funds for
The Grove Street Christian Church,
which houses My Happy Place.
My Happy Place is a crafting "studio" where
we host Crop and Craft time for whatever kind of crafting
people want to do. Most of us are scrapbookers and
card makers.
We always have a goodie bag for each
cropper at our "specialty" crops.
Today I'm showing you what we gave at
our recent crop.
Each cropper received a bag with a gratitude card
that my "partner in crime" wrote out along with a little
thank you tag that I stamped.
In the bag was a card kit, instructions included.
Some kind of bling, mine happened to be pearls,
a post it note holder (I made these.) and of course,
some candy.
This is what the Post It note holders were like.
I had a lot of fun making them in different
Autumn themed papers.
This is the sheet included with instructions for
the Thank You tags and card kit.
We love making up these little goodie bags,
every crop they are different depending on
what we have on hand and what we can find to
add to the bag.
I love to add some kind of little handmade gift in
these bags.
I think they were well received.
The crop was loads of fun for
all of us and we raised a good amount of
money for the church.

Thanks for stopping by today,
come again soon.
Until then,
show gratitude.

Goodie Bags and Scratch Offs

As many of you know, I work with a
couple of friends and hold crafting crops.
We hold weekend crops a couple times a year.
In March we had a weekend crop and the theme
was baseball.

I made up these goodie bags for each cropper.
I printed out the Have a Ball image, cut them out
and glued them onto lunch bags.
Inside I put some Cracker Jacks, Tootsie Rolls, some Washi
tape and other little goodies.

I also included a scratch off ticket in each bag.
They were really simple to make.
I cut out the "baseball diamonds" and added the bases.
In the center I put the scratch off area.

These were really simple to make using
Silhouette Silver Scratch Off Sticker Sheets
Under the scratch off area, I had things like
$ off crops, a free drink, or not a winner, but you're
a winner in our eyes.

Our "Grand Prize" for the weekend was a
gift certificate toward the next weekend crop that
we hold.
I made this baseball diamond and the baseball
was the scratch off gift certificate.
We also added some scratch off lottery tickets on
each base to add a little something extra.
This was wrapped up with a few scrapbooking
supplies to make a nice prize.

Thanks for stopping by today,
I hope you think I hit it out of the park
with these ideas.
Hope to see you again soon,
until then
hit a home run of your own.

Crop Goodies

This weekend is our
Spring Weekend Crop at
Dunkirk Camp and Conference Center.
We decided to have a Holiday Celebration theme.
Here are a few of the things we have going on
for this weekend.
Every cropper will get a goodie bag that is a Christmas
Stocking with goodies in it.
Everyone gets an ornament in their stocking
along with some Ghiradelli
peppermint bark, Lindt Lindor chocolates, a
ticket to win a prize and more.
For Valentines Day they will each receive a box
of Conversation Hearts. I was one short so I made
a little box for one person and filled it with
Good and Plenty candies.
For Halloween they will pick up a treat for
trick or treating when they get their dinner.
One of the boxes has a prize sticker on the bottom.
They are filled with a variety of candy.
We're also having an Easter egg hunt, with
one egg containing a gold coin to win a
prize basket.
A ring toss game for 4th of July,
a Christmas Trivia game,
Valentine's word scramble,
a New Year's Eve count down on
Saturday night
and lots of fun prizes.
I think it will be a great time.

By the time this is posted the crop will be over,
and we'll all be recovering from our
time scrapping and crafting.
If you've ever been to a weekend crop,
you know that a lot of sleeping doesn't happen.
I'm sure everyone had a fun time.
Couldn't post this sooner and ruin the surprises.
Thanks for stopping in today,
come again soon.
Until then,
have fun crafting!

Easter Favors

Hi blog friends!
I know I'm late with an Easter post, but I wanted to share
with you the favors I made for my Easter guests.
As usual, I decided pretty last minute that I would
make something for each place setting.
I don't know why I do this, I know I like to have something
for my guests, but always decide to make it at the last minute.
A couple days before Easter I picked up some things for
the favors and the day before I decided that I would make
little tags to go on the bags.
I did a few different designs, all stamps from my stash
from when I was on a few design teams.
I've been playing with ink lately and making
background sheets to use when I need them.
This was what was left after I made the tags.
I used alcohol inks on some glossy paper
and I love the results.
Each goodie bag had a little package of
chocolate chip cookies, some orange chocolate
sponge candy, and a few Reese's cups and Cadbury mini eggs.
Here they are all ready to go on the table.
This one is made with
This one is
This one is
There were 3 of the guys that love hot sauce
and since we had ham and they love it on ham,
I thought it would be the perfect little favor for them.
All the images were stamped with VersaFine, Onyx Black ink
colored with colored pencils, fussy cut, then adhered to the back
ground piece.
The sentiment is from a set that I got on clearance,
because it had no outer wrapping, so I have no idea what
company it is from.
This is what each place setting looked like.
We had a wonderful Easter and I hope you did too.
Like I said, I know it's late for an Easter post,
but this kind of favor can be done for any
dinner or event, it can be pulled together
very quickly.
You don't have to stamp, color and fussy cut
everything.  You can just as easily, stamp a sentiment,
trim it down and put it on a little goodie bag, candy bar
or whatever you like.
I love doing this for my guests.

Thanks for stopping in today,
I hope you'll pop in again soon.
Until then,
create something beautiful.

Wedding Party Goodie Bags

Hello and welcome!
Today I'm showing you a project that I did with my
future daughter in law.
Sara, the girls in the wedding party and I were
going to try on dresses for the wedding and she wanted
to give them each a little goodie bag.
She told me what she wanted and we decided on this design.
They are having a nautical theme to the wedding, thus the
anchors.

I designed them with my Silhouette Studio Designer Edition.
I found a picture of an anchor, traced it and split the image.
Then tried several different fonts until we found one that
looked good and that she liked.
She's pretty easy to please, so it wasn't a tough job.
The anchors were done in gray heat transfer vinyl
and the monograms were done with purple
glitter heat transfer vinyl.
The font I used is
Monogram kk sc
Once I had the sizing right,
I was good to go.
We both love how the bags turned out.
When we got to the bridal salon,
Sara hung the bags on the hooks in
the dressing rooms.
The girl that took us to the rooms was excited
to see what we had made.
She said she loves when DIY brides come in.
The wedding party was very excited to find the bags
when they came in.
Below are some of the things that were in the bags.
Sara put their names and what their part in the
wedding party is on the hangers.
In the center is a princess on each hanger also.
This is my daughters hanger, she will be Best Lady
for her brother.
They received these little compact mirrors,
Sara put the I do Crew on each one with
vinyl.
She found these adorable candles.
Here are some of the other goodies she put
in the bags.
Check out those cute lolly pops,
they are actually hair bands.
This was in her maid of honor's bag.
It is filled with life savers and Ariel is
her favorite princess.

Thanks for stopping by today,
come again soon and you'll see the bag
I made for Sara and the goodies I put into it.
See you soon!
Until then, have fun crafting!

Place Mats Into Bags

Hi all!
Today I have something a little different for you.
My friends and I decided to host a weekend scrapbooking crop
this fall.  Our theme is Birthday Bash
to celebrate the 9th birthday of
My Happy Place Scrapbooking and Crafting Studio
and everyone's birthday.
I got the idea of using place mats to make bags
that can be used for storing and carrying crafting
supplies and/or tools.  I love to repurpose things and
this seemed like a good chance to do so.
I went to a few thrift stores and picked up place mats
very inexpensively.
This is what I started with.......
and this is what I ended up with.
I simply folded them and sewed them up the sides.
Then folded the other end over to close them.
This is the one I made for myself,
isn't it pretty?
Here it is opened.
I think these little bags could have a lot of uses.
They would be great to carry cosmetics, or hair care items,
or maybe some lingerie while traveling.
Maybe to store your curling iron or scarfs.
Everyone that attends our crop, including my friends
who planned it with me, will receive one of these
little bags with some goodies in it.
Here is what they will get as their goodie bag.
The bag with 10 - 6x6 birthday themed papers,
a package of birthday themed sticker, a pencil,
candy, a little candle and pretty holder, really you can't have
a birthday with out candles, right?
And some tickets to win some prizes.
I wrapped up all the gifts with colorful tissue
paper and ribbon and tied a cute wooden tag to the ribbon.
They will be on each
crafter's table when they arrive for the crop.
I hope they like their little goodie bag as much as
I liked making them and finding the goodies to go
into them. They will also receive some 12x12
birthday themed paper, but that doesn't fit into the
bag.
Thanks for stopping by today,
I hope you've been inspired to
reuse, recycle or repurpose something.
Come again soon,
until then
Happy Crafting!
