My Other Pages

To make it easier to read about our trip to Ireland, I have made a page that is just for that. There is a tab above for Ireland Trip 2014 or click on the Home tab to read my other posts. I have also created a new page for My Weight Loss Journey if you are interested in that, click on the tab above.

Card/Photo Carrier

Hello and welcome to
Kristie Kreates.
Today I'm showing you a card/photo carrier that I made
for my sweet Aunt Marilyn.
Aunt Marilyn lives in North Carolina and I haven't been able to
see her due to COVID.
I hope this will cheer her up and give her some smiles.
I wrote a letter to put into it and enclosed some pictures of
our family.  She has never met my daughter in law or granddaughter,
so I thought some pictures would be very welcome.
I stamped the
 onto white card stock with
then colored it with colored pencils.
The "card" itself is made from 2 envelopes.
The flap of one envelope was glued into the other envelope,
then the outside was covered with  the green paper
and the flower image was adhered on top.
I chose some colorful paper from my handmade background stash for the
inside.  Here you can see where the envelopes open in the center to put
the pictures inside.
I'm sure that Aunt Marilyn will keep this right next to her chair and look
at the pictures often.  I know they will make her smile.

Thanks for stopping by today,
I hope you have been inspired in some way.
Come again soon,
until then:
Make something pretty for someone.

Journal for Watercolor Practicing.

Hello crafty people!
I wanted to show y'all another journal I made.
Yes, I've been obsessed with making journals lately.
This one I specifically made for myself and put watercolor
pages into it.  I need a place where I can do some
practicing with my watercolors and this will be perfect
for that.
For the front I used this alcohol ink flower piece that I
had in my stash.
For the binding, I used a piece of goldish fabric.
I love how it turned out and I'm sure I'll love
doing some practicing in this journal.
Hopefully I'll see some progress through out the book.

Thanks for stopping by today.
I hope you have been inspired in some way.
Come again soon, until then:
give something new a try!

Stenciled Flower Card

Good day to y'all!
Today I have a card that I made just for the
heck of it.  I wanted to play around in my
craft room so made this card.
This is made with one of my favorite stencils.
I'm sorry I can't tell you anything about it,
except that I picked it up at
Tuesday morning quite a while ago
and I love it.
I used some metallic paint from Art C,
which I can't find a link to anywhere,
I got it on clearance a while ago at
one of the craft stores.
I matted the print with some gold card stock,
then a piece of heavy mulberry paper, then
adhered it to a card base.
I think it's a lovely card that can be used for
any occasion.
I'm glad you stopped by today and I hope
you were inspired in some way.
Come again soon,
until then:
craft for the fun of it!
