CAS-ual Fridays Challenge

Hello everyone!
This month is Breast Cancer Awareness month.

Did you know that 1 in 8 women will be diagnosed

with breast cancer?
That is why the Cas-ual Fridays Challenge

 this week is to use 8 of something on your card.

I'm entering the 2 cards below into the challenge.

This first card was made using the 

"Smile"

stamp from the
"Sassy Smiles" stamp set from

CAS-ual Fridays Stamps

I used Versa Mark Ink to stamp Smile

down the panel of the card.

Then I used Pan Pastels and 

made colored stripes over the words.

The words show up beautifully with this 

technique.

There are 8 different colored stripes on this card.

This is the inside of the card, the sentiment

is from the same Sassy Smiles set..

Love that sentiment, it never fails to make me smile.

For my 2nd card, I used the same technique,

but this time I have stamped "Smile" 8 times

The sentiment on the inside of this card is also from

the Sassy Smiles set as is the little heart next to the sentiment.

I love this stamp set and have already used it for a few cards and

only got it about a month or so ago.

Masculine Happy Birthday

Hello!  Hope you're having a great day!

I don't make a lot of masculine cards, but this one turned out to be a bit on the masculine side and I really like it.

I used 3 different stamps from QKR Stampede,   Trees (#21601), Cattails (#11602) and Happy Birthday (#22803)

I started by setting up the nesting ovals on my SCAL2 program and cutting them on my Cricut Expressions. 

I used white card stock for the oval in the center.  I used Pan Pastels to color the background and used hair spray to set the color.

I then use the Trees stamp on the sides of the oval.  These trees are one stamp, first I inked up the stamp with VersaFine Mossy Green and Smokey Gray inks and stamped the right side of the oval.  Then repeated the process and stamped the left side of the oval.  Since I used only half the image on each side, it looks like two different stamps.

I used watercolor crayon to color the trunk of the trees.

I then stamped the Cattails stamp, using VersaFine Smokey Gray, then colored that image with watercolor crayons.

I layered and adhered the 3 ovals with ATG tape and then adhered them to the green card stock, and onto the card base.

All these card stocks were from my scrap stash.

I cut the 2 sizes of a banner from SCAL2, stamped the white one with the Happy Birthday stamp and inked the edges with the Mossy Green ink and adhered it to the larger banner, then onto the card.

I'm pleased with how this card turned out.  I don't do a lot of masculine cards, seems to be the hardest style of card for me.

Tag You're It! contest.

Frantic Stamper's blog is having a Tag You're It contest.  I entered a few tags into it, but unfortunatly I didn't make the finals.  Below are 4 tags that I entered.  I think they turned out pretty nice.  I've never done a lot of tags like this, so this is something new for me. 

I love the rose on this tag.  It is one that I made a little while ago and knew that eventually I would find the perfect project for it. I got the doily at

Hollo's Papercrafts.  The bird is a stamp from The Paper Company.

Yeah, that's me on that tag.  I was thinking this would make a nice tag to give someone on a gift,  wouldn't have to sign it, they could just look at the pic  and see who it was from.

Made this one mostly with supplies I got in a grab box that I got for Christmas filled with Prima products.  It was bought from Frantic Stamper.

I love this FUN tag!  I received some Pan Pastels for Christmas and wanted to mess around with them.  That is what I used to color the tag.  Love it!  I stamped the FUN onto the tag and the flowers were others that I got in my grab box.  All the brads in the flower centers and lower right hand corner are ones I got in a prize pack that I won from Kristen Swain on her blog, Blankety Blank Blank.
