Smile and Congratulations

Hello and welcome!
Today I have a couple more 2 for 1 cards.
For these two cards I embossed some white card stock with
the Octogon Embossing Folder from Darice.
I then used Mustard Seed and Carved Pumpkin
Distress Inks to color the embossing with an ink
I cut the embossed piece into two pieces and used one for
this card.
I used this sentiment inside the card,
(sorry I can't find a direct link)
For this card I used the other half of the embossed piece
and a congratulations from my stash of stamps.
For both cards, I cut down some scrap pieces of coordinating
card stock and added little strips to finish off the card.
I'm happy with how these cards turned out.

Thanks for stopping today, I hope you have been
inspired in some way.
Come again soon.
Until then,
try something new.

Blended Stripes

Hello blog friends!
Welcome to my world!
Today I have a couple cards to show you,
more from my embossing frenzy.
For these cards I used the
Diagonal Stripes Embossing Folder
from Darice and embossed white card stock.
I then used a ink blending tool and a  combination of
Peacock Feathers, Salty Ocean and Blueprint Sketch
Distress Inks to add color.
I cut the embossed panel so I could make it into
a 2 for 1 set and adhered them to the white card bases.
I added strips of coordinating card stock along the edge to give
it a more finished look.
The believe, dream and inspire are from a stamp set I have
in my stash, but have no clue who they were made by.
The sentiment on this one is from the
Lovely stamp set from Cas-ual Fridays
I can't find a link for this though.
As I often do, I left the inside blank to
be able to add a sentiment of personal
message at a later date.

Thanks for stopping by today,
I appreciate you spending time with me.
I hope you will come again soon.
Until then:
Happy Crafting!

Happy Thoughts 2 for 1

Hi everyone!
Today I'm showing you a couple cards I made.
This is kind of a 2 for 1 deal.
I started by embossing white card stock with the
to color the panel.
I cut the panel into 2 pieces at an angle and adhered each piece
to a white card base.
I added a thin strip of black card stock and used
sentiment from the
Lovely Greetings stamp set from Cas-ual Fridays.
I'm sorry, I can't find a link to this stamp set.

Thanks for spending time with me today,
come again soon.
Until then:
See if you can make some 2 of 1 projects.

HB2U

Hey crafty people!
Today's card is another birthday card.
For this card I used the Whole Shebang
stamp set from CAS-UAL Friday Stamps
for the outside and inside sentiments.
I also used a piece of pink vellum and ran it
through the Cuttlebug in an embossing folder.
The embossing folder is a very old one and I can't find
a link for it. Sorry!
Here is the sentiment on the inside of the card,
I love the sentiments in this stamp set.

Thanks for popping in today to see what I've been
up to.  I hope you'll be back again soon.

Until then,
Happy crafting!

Crazy Dog Card

Hello friends!
Today is another card from my
unused stash of goodies.
I love the dogs from the
They are just so darn cute and bring a smile to
my face, they have such personality!
I colored this card using my
watercolor crayons for the dog as well as the
sky and grass.
Inside I stamped this sentiment from the
from Cas-ual Fridays Stamps.
I added a little Glossy Accents to his nose and tag
to give a little shine.
I also made an envelope, since it is a square card,
Did you know square cards cost more to mail?
I made the envelope a bit larger than the card, in
a rectangular shape to avoid the extra postage.

Thanks for stopping by to see what I've been up to,
I hope you have a wonderful day and
create something fun.

HB2U

Hi All!
Today I have a birthday card to show you.
I love the Crazy Dogs stamp set from Tim Holtz!
One of my friends has the set and I stamped all the
different dogs onto watercolor paper to color
when I got to them.
I wanted to use one for a birthday card for my son
and I chose this cute little guy.
The stamp doesn't come with the spots, I added those
as I painted with my watercolor crayons.
I used the HB2U from the
Whole Shebang stamp set
from CAS-UAL Fridays Stamps
I added a bit of Glossy Accents to his nose
and the tag hanging from his collar to give a little shine
and dimension.
The sentiment inside the card is from the
Whole Shebang stamp set also.
I think this card turned out adorable and Jaryd will
love it.  He is a big dog and cat lover and I'm sure he'll
appreciate it.

Jason's Birthday Card

Hello everyone.
Do you struggle with masculine cards?
I know I do and I have decided that I'm going to overcome
this problem.  I needed a birthday card for my daughter's boyfriend
and I wanted to do something a little different.
I put my mind to it and this is the card I created.
I started out with a die cut circle in a piece of card stock and
a few coordinating colors of Distress Inks.
After some trial and error, I finally decided on these 3 large
 intersecting circles.
I simply moved the circle "stencil" around and inked it with
the Distress Ink and an ink blending tool.
Once they were the color I liked, I fussy cut them leaving a small outline around
them.  The Happy Birthday sentiment is
and I stamped it with Timber Brown Staz On Ink
using my MISTI stamping tool, to be sure I got a clear, crisp impression.
The tag behind the circles is a manila tag covered with a piece of
deli paper that I used alcohol inks to create.
I used ATG tape to adhere the tag to a brown piece of card stock,
then trimmed the extra from the sides.
The circles were adhered on top of that piece and it was all
adhered to a white card base.
The sentiment is from the
from CAS-ual Fridays Stamps.
I stamped it with the same brown Staz On Ink as the sentiment on the front
of the card.

I hope you have enjoyed your visit to my blog today,
and that you'll come again soon.
Until next time,
Happy Crafting!

Not Just Cards Challenge June

Hi all you friends from blogland!
Today I've got an announcement,
I have been accepted to a design team and I'm
pretty excited.
It's the team for the
Each month on the 11th of the month, a new challenge is
posted along with inspiration from our design team.
Every month there is a sponsor as well as a theme
and sometimes there are some cool prizes.
Be sure to check out the NJC blog and participate in the challenge.
This month our sponsor is
I worked with
One of the nice things about digital stamps is that you download them
to your computer and you can size them to the size you want to use.
I decided that I wanted to do a scrapbook layout with my images, so I made them
fairly large, each of the girls measures about 5.5" tall.
I printed the images onto white card stock,
colored them with my Fantasia colored pencils
and fussy cut them.
I started my pages with white card stock.
I used a Stormy Sky and Broken China Distress Inks
too create the sky and water.
For the sand, I tore some light brown marbled card stock so there
would be a straight "shoreline" yet still have a little bit of a rough edge.
I used a Perfect Medium ink pad and swiped it in different
areas of the water and sand, then brushed Perfect Pearls Powder
onto the water and sand.  That is what gives it the shine.
For the sun I cut a mask, applied it before I inked the sky,
then after I had the sky done, I removed the mask and used
scrap card stock to ink the rays with Squeezed Lemonade Distress Ink.
The little girls were adhered to the page with foam tape to give a little dimension
to the page.
The photo mats were made from some card stock that I had in my
stash
The title was stamped with VersaFine Onyx Black ink and
a set of alpha stamps that I have in my stash.
I have no idea what company they are from.

Since there were 3 little girls in the image and I only used 2 on the
layout, I made a card with the 3rd one.
I used some coordinating paper from my stash
and added the little girl with some foam tape.
I used a little Glossy Accents to give the center of the
flower a little shine.
Inside I stamped a sentiment from the
CAS-ual Fridays Stamps
with Wilted Violet Distress Ink
onto white card stock, cut it down and
adhered it to a mat that matches the outside mat of the card.

Thanks for stopping by today,
I hope you'll pop over to the
Not Just Cards Challenge Blog
and see the inspiration from the other
design team member and give the challenge a try.
I really enjoyed working with this

2 Cards Same Stamp

Hello crafty people!
Today I'm going to show you 2 very different cards
made with the same stamp, which happens to be
one of my favorites.
This poppy image is
3101AA POPPIES
from
This first one I stamped onto watercolor paper
then colored it with my
I stamped this poppy again with VersaFine Onyx Black,
but colored it with my
I used a mask to cover the poppy and stamped
a polka dot background stamp.
I'm not sure which polka dot stamp I used,
but there are many available.
Both sentiments are from the
Cas-ual Fridays Stamps.

I love how these 2 cards turned out,
of course, like I said, it IS one of my favorite
stamps.  So how could I go wrong?
Thanks for stopping by today.
I hope you're having a lovely day and
you'll take time to create something
beautiful.

Bird Crazy

Hello everyone!
I have several birthday's in February, so I decided
to get moving one day and made the cards I needed
for the month.
I absolutely LOVE these mini crazy birds
from Tim Holtz.
I bought the set of 3 stamps and dies
one day at Michael's
and I've never seen that set again
and haven't been able to find it online either.

This card is just an extra that I made while I was
at it.  Love this sentiment.
This card I left blank inside so I can add a
sentiment when I need it.

I don't remember who I addressed each of these
cards too, but I think this one work well
for anyone you want to give a smile too.

I thought this was a cute sentiment.

I'm sure this one is going to one of
my OLDER brothers.

This one is going to my other OLDER brother.
I think they'll get a kick out of them.

I made the backgrounds using a stripe from the
from Simon Says Stamp
I used these stamps sets from
 Cas-ual Fridays Stamps
for the sentiments:
and stamped them in

Thanks for stopping by today,
I hope you'll come again soon.
I have decided that this year
I will get better about sending out cards
to family and friends.
So I will probably be posting a lot
of cards in the future, so be sure to pop
in and see what I've been creating.
Until next time,
Happy Crafting!

MMFS

Hello y'all!
I hope you're having a lovely day.
Today I'm showing you a little bag that I
"made" for my friend.
I was going to visit and wanted to take
her a little something and thought this
bag would be perfect for her.
MMFS are her initials, to put them on the
bag I found a font that I liked for her
and used it to make a stencil with some acetate.
and my Silhouette Cameo to make the stencil.
on the back of the stencil to be sure it didn't move while
I was working.
Now I have to say, I've had this glue for a while
and although it worked great, it sure didn't spritz.
I had to paint it onto the stencil, which worked fine.
I positioned the stencil and covered it with
While the paste was still wet, I covered it
with pink and purple glitter.
I did find that the glitter didn't stick as
well as I expected.
 I used
to stamp most of the images and the
sentiment, the "flowers" were stamped with
white ink.
The sentiment says
"Smile
you're my best friend
and there's nothing you can do about it"
which is from the Sassy Smiles Stamp Set
The "flowers" are from
The zigzag stripes are from
All these stamps are from
The "person" and hat are from
by Dyan Reaveley
I thought it looked more like a woman,
so I colored it as such.
The small images on the front of the bag
are random stamps that I found in my stash.
Once I had stamped the images I used my
to color them.
Did you know that you could color on canvas
with colored pencils?
You can, just start with a light hand
and color in layers.  You can see that it works beautifully.
My only worry is that it may wear off.
I didn't use fixative on this one, but will
give it a try to be sure it doesn't damage the
canvas in any way.
If that works I'll have Mary spray hers with a
fixative to be sure it doesn't rub off at all.
I know she has some in her craft room.
Here is a closer picture of the initials,
glitter on embossing paste.
I think she liked this bag and I'm sure she'll
find a use for it, what crafter can't use a little bag like
this one?
I have more of these canvas bags in different colors
and sizes and I'm sure I'll be making up some more as
gifts for Christmas.

Thanks for stopping in today,
I hope you've been inspired in some way
or learned something.
Come again soon,
you never know what you'll find on

Caring Hearts Card Drive

This is the 7th year that Vera Yates and her crew
have organized the
This card drive is near and dear to my heart.
This will be the 3rd year that I will be helping to
distribute cards to
Brothers of Mercy Nursing Home and Rehab Center
and
Sacred Heart Adult Care Home
where my Mom lives.
Many people in nursing homes and assisted living
centers don't receive many cards and visitors.
This is one way to bring some cheer into their lives.
When Mom receives her cards, she has been thrilled
to show them to me and tell me where they came from.
They are always a big hit in the dining room where the
residents find them at their places.
They share them and compare them and are so
excited to receive them
Be sure to follow the link above and see how
you can help with this card drive.
Here are some cards that I've made to send in for the
drive.
(click on the pictures to see them larger)
I stamped this cute snowman
onto white card stock and also a piece of
Post It paper to use as a mask.
I covered the snowman image with the mask
and used my MISTI stamping tool to
repeatedly stamp the Holiday Wishes sentiment
onto the card.
I'm sorry I don't know what set that sentiment
is from.
On this card I stamped
from Biblical Impressions
and used the same process as above to
from
CAS-ual Fridays
This one I used
a border stamp from
I colored the images on all the cards with
