Pop Up Panel Cards

Hi blog friends!

Today I'm excited to show you a 

couple really cool cards.

I saw a video on another blog the other

day and had to try making some

"pop up panel cards"

(I'll link to that video below)

First I wanted to make a

get well/ encouragement card.

For the front of the card I stamped 

"Lacy Butterfly"  from 

Eureka Stamps.

I colored it with colored pencils and

fussy cut it.

When I added it to the front of the card,

I used Glue Dots on the body of the butterfly

and put a couple layers of foam tape

under the wings to give dimension.

The exciting part comes when you open the card

and a panel pops out.

The little flowers are from
TaDa Creative Studios

I have no idea if it is available any longer.

I decided that I should also make a Christmas card

with a pop up panel inside.

I used card stocks from my stash.

Sorry I don't know the name of the stamp set I used

for this card.

The dotted border stamp that I used along the left side

is from Winnie and Walter's 

Scenery; Stripes

All the stamped images were stamped with 

Red Versafine Ink

On this card I didn't use as many layers and it

still turned out beautifully.

I weighed each card and this one would be able to 

go through the mail on a regular stamp,

the other one is much heavier with the extra 

layers of card stock and would need extra postage.

Window Panel Cards #2 and Distress Crayons

Hi all!

Today I have a few cards to show you.

I love this window panel style of card.

This time I made a couple of them using some 

card stock that I had used 

Distress Crayons to create.

I first covered the card stock with Gesso,

then used the Distress Crayons to color sections

of the card stock, then 'smooshed' the color around 

with my fingers.

The colors are pretty creamy and blend best when 

there is a base coat, this is why I used the Gesso

I used "Filagree Border"

from Eureka Stamps for the inside of the card.

I wanted something that fit nicely behind the clear

panel window and this was perfect.

I think it went well with the look of the overall card.

I stamped it with Chestnut Roan Color Box Ink.

This card can be used as a vertical or a horizontal card.

For this card I used another piece that I created with

Distress Crayons.  This one was made using the 

Distress Crayons directly to card stock, using no base 

coat of Gesso.  The crayons did blend, but not nearly as 

easily.  I used the same colors for both cards, you can

see the difference in the color, as without the Gesso,

the crayon kind of "soaked" into the paper.

I like how both turned out, but found the one with

the Gesso easier to work with.

I made this striped card stock panel with 

Scenery: Stripes

from Winnie and Walter

and Happy Birthday from

Biblical Impressions.

I stamped the image with Versa Fine Ink

and colored it with 

colored pencils.

The acetate I used for all these window 

panel cards, is simply packaging that I had kept

in my stash, knowing that I'd find a use for it.

I had a lot of fun making these cards

and I'm sure I'll be making more of this style card

in the future.

Window panel card

Today I'm showing you a card that I just love.

I recently learned the technique for putting this 

"window panel" on a card from 

Jennifer McGuire Ink

on this post

When I saw her video, I knew I had to give it a try.

I had this striped piece of card stock 

that I had created with 

Scenery: Stripes 

from Winnie & Walter

The inside image is 

Happy Birthday 

from Biblical Impressions.

I stamped it with VersaFine Black Onyx ink

and colored it with water color crayons.

I used my Misti stamping tool to get a perfect

placement and image.
