Baby Boy Asher

Hello and Welcome!
I hope you are having a wonderful day.
My last post was a layout of my granddaughter,
so I thought I'd share one of my grandson today.
Asher was born June 24, 2022 and we were all
totally in love with this boy from the start.
Marie is a wonderful big sister and loves
her baby brother with all her heart.
Marie and Asher are almost exactly the same
difference in age as our kids,
Kelsie and Jaryd are.
Jaryd is Marie and Asher's Daddy.
If how they are now with each other is any
indications, Marie and Asher will be
closest friends for life just like
Daddy and Auntie Kelsie.

Thanks for stopping by, I hope
you have enjoyed your moments here and were
inspired in some way.
Come again soon.
Until then,
tell someone you love them.

Summer 2022 with Marie

Hello everyone!
Today I have a layout to share with y'all.
My granddaughter, Marie, is always a joy to spend
time with.  Last summer we had so much fun together.
These pictures all have a little special meaning to them.
She has some special toys at our house that she plays with more
than others.  Her huge "Mama Bear and Daddy Bear" are
by far her favorite stuffies.  She has a wonderful imagination
and lugs them around the house and onto the deck and
acts like they are real and her best friends.
The outfit she is wearing with the pink and orange stripes
was an outfit that was my daughter's when she was little.
There were select clothes of  Kelsie's and Jaryd's that we
kept and now the grands are wearing them.
The picture on the right just radiates her
sweetness and beauty.
Can't tell that she is my heart, can you?

Thanks for coming by to see what I've been creating.
I hope you will come by again soon.
Until then,
see the beauty in a child.

Pumpkin Hunt 2021 & 2022

Hello Everyone!
I've had some time to do some scrapbooking lately and
I thought I'd show you a couple layouts that I created.
Every year since my daughter was born, almost 33 yrs ago,
we have gone on a pumpkin hunt. We go to a specific
fruit and veggie stand and find all the pumpkins we want,
then we go to lunch or dinner together.
Here are a couple layouts from the last couple
pumpkin hunts.
As you can see, I'm a little behind on my scrapbooking.
I did my 2021 and 2022 layouts at the same time.
The 2021 hunt was special since we found out that day
that we were going to be grandparents again.
Unfortunately, I don't have any pictures to depict that.
The whole family couldn't come for this pumpkin hunt,
but there was someone from each family unit there to
choose the pumpkins.  The rest of them participated in
the carving of the pumpkins.
My son, Jaryd, was being crazy that day and his apple
was in almost every picture.
We always have a lot of fun when we do our pumpkin hunt
and we plan to continue it until I'm old and feeble.  LOL,
then they will do it on their own.  We used to do this with my
Mom and she went every year, even when she couldn't get out
of the car to walk around.  Family time is always precious.

Thanks for stopping by today, I hope you'll come again soon.
I have more layouts to show you so I'll be posting them soon.
Until then,
scrap on!

Selfies and Birthday

Good day everyone!
Today I have a scrapbook layout to share with y'all.
My granddaughter, Marie, and Uncle Brad, my future son in law,
have a wonderful relationship.  So when Marie wanted to take
pictures, Brad was all in.
The other page is from Jaryd's birthday dinner.
We had a great time, as we always do when family
gets together.  After dinner we played
Throw Throw Burrito
which is a game he got from Kelsie.
Crazy game, but we had a lot of fun.

Thanks for stopping by today,
I hope you'll stop again soon.
Until then,
have some fun with your family,
play a game, celebrate something,
take some selfies.

You Make Me Giggle

Hello crafters!
Today I'm sharing a layout with you that I created a little
while ago.
This layout makes me happy.
One page is my son with my granddaughter and one page is
my daughter in law with her.
They are so good with her and can always seem to make
her smile and laugh.
She is the sweetest little girl ever
and she is the light of our lives.
Thanks for stopping by today,
I hope this layout made you smile.
Come again soon,
you never know what you'll find on
Kristie Kreates.

Recent Layouts

Hi, I hope you're having a good day!
Today, I have some layouts to show you.
I obviously don't scrapbook in chronological order.
So you never know what layouts I'll be showing you.
This layout is from Mother's Day 2021.
This really showed me that we need to take pictures of
everyone and not just Marie.
I only had one picture of the family and I wasn't in it.
Now we try to remember to take a full family picture at
different get togethers.
These are pictures from when the kids were visiting
Sara's Moms early in the summer.
Sometimes I just can't stand the cuteness.
I love how this layout of my son with Marie turned out.
The top one with the fist bump was done when
Marie was only a couple days old and her Gram was
visiting her.

I'm glad you stopped to see what I've been creating and
I hope you are too.
Come again soon.
Until then,
be creative!

Layouts and Stamping with Marie

Hello and welcome to Kristie Kreates!
Today I have a couple more layouts to show you
and a special little project from my granddaughter
Sometimes, a toddlers hair just isn't what you want it to be.
And you know what, we don't care and neither does she.
Last Christmas we had the first
Maynard Family Ugly Sweater Cookie Contest.
We each decorated a cookie and then I posted them on
Facebook and asked people to vote.  It was so much fun
that we're probably going to do another contest this year.
And from my Granddaughter, Marie, we have this beautiful
stamping project.  It was the first time she every stamped.
It was a bit of a challenge, but she finally got the idea and
stamped some pretty good images.
In one of my next posts showing layouts, you'll see what I did
with her project.  I look forward to doing more and more crafting
with her.  She already loves to color and paint and I think she's
going to love learning new techniques.

I'm so glad you stopped to visit for a while today and hope you'll
come again soon.
Until then,
happy crafting!

Newset Layouts

Hello everyone!
Today I have more layouts to show you.
I've been really moving along on catching up with
scrapbooking the last couple years.
Most of my pages are of our granddaughter, Marie,
but I've also been scrapping in a lot of family events and pictures too.
Marie loves to get comfortable when she eats
Check out her feet in the pictures on the left page.
I love these pictures that my daughter in law took of Marie
and had to do something special with them.
All the hearts are cut from background papers that I have
created.  I LOVE how this turned out.
Check out our girl with her cool sunglasses.
Yes, I do scrap way out of order, but at least they are
getting done.  Baby's first Christmas.  That's my daughter
holding her precious niece.
The Maynard and Phillips families have been doing things
together since Jaryd and Brian (and the rest of us) met when they
were 3 yrs old.  They are now 29.
I love this layout with my second family.
I have a whole scrapbook dedicated to what
our two families did together over the years.

Thanks for popping in today,
come again and see what I'm creating lately.
Until then,
enjoy your crafting!

Layouts From My Weekend Crop

Welcome crafty people!
While I was on my little vacation,
I spent a weekend at
Inspiration Inn Bloom
which is located in Ohio.
I spent the time with a group of wonderful friends
and had a fabulous time.
Now I know you are going to look at these and say
"That's all she got done?"
and my answer would be
"Yes, it is"
I'm a very slow scrapper, I take a lot of time to
pick the pictures, then the paper I want to use and even
more time figuring out what I'll do and where to put the
pictures.
Lately, I've been trying to think outside the box and
do some things that are a little different on some of my
layouts.
I definitely have a style and I'm trying to, not necessarily change
that, but add to it.
"Many Faces Of Marie"
This is one of my favorites of the weekend.
When there are a bunch of cute pictures that don't have
a common theme or event, this is the perfect kind of layout
to use them.  I love how it turned out.
We are lucky enough to get Marie at least once a week
for a whole day.  Grandpa plays with her a lot and they
have formed a fabulous bond.
This was her first snow of 2020, 2019 she was too young
to know about snow, but these pictures are so precious.
The second page are a few of the things I made for
Marie to keep her cozy and warm.
I need to get started on some new ones for this winter.
This was our first Easter egg coloring event for our family.
We had so much fun and Marie did a great job coloring
her eggs.
This is when I realized that we really need to take more pictures
of the rest of us and not only pictures of Marie.  LOL
'2021 Maynard Egg Decorating Contest"
We each colored and decorated one special egg to
put into our contest.  Then on Easter we posted them on
Facebook (with no names) and asked our family and friends
to vote for their favorite in the bunch.
If you click on the picture, you
can enlarge it and see who won and what he had to
say about the win.
It was so much fun, we plan to do it every year.
"Pretty Easter Princess"
That's our Marie, she looked like a beautiful little
ballerina.  I used tulle to mimic the skirt of her dress
on the page.  It looks so pretty and absolutely precious.
Here's a close up that shows the tulle.
Yes, it does get a bit crushed in the protector sleeve,
but it still looks pretty.

Thanks for stopping in today to see what I've made.
I hope you'll come back soon and see what else I've been up to.
Until then,
think outside the box!

Family We Chose and Good Times

Hello Blog Fans!
Today I have a couple more layouts in a series
that I've been working on.  They have all been pictures from my
"nieces" family picnic in 2013.
These are the last 2 layouts in that series.
The title on this layout is Family That We Chose.
I don't know about you, but my family has a lot of what
I like to call my "fake family"
My "niece" Tammy's Grandmother was one of my Mom's
friends since high school.  We always called her Aunt Lou.
Her daughter Nancy, in the picture above wearing black and white
I have always considered my cousin.  My children call her Aunt Nancy.
Her daughter, Tammy, holding the baby, calls me Aunt Kristie and is
my niece.  I know it's a little convoluted, but it's how we are in my
family.
In this page of the layout are 4 generations of our
Family That We Chose!
This layout is of my family.
Dave, my husband, me, my kids, Kelsie and Jaryd,
and my wonderful Mom.
In that lower right hand corner is the whole group of us.
My family and the decendents of Aunt Lou.
Are my kids just too beautiful or what?
When I was making this layout, I said
"Gosh my kids are beautiful!"
My friend Emma started laughing and said
"You say that every time you do a layout of your kids."
I guess that's true, but I just can't help it!
They are just gorgeous!
Proud Mama here I guess.

Thanks for stopping in today.
I hope you've been inspired in some way.
Come again soon.
Until then,
Happy Crafting!

Adorable Andrea

Hello blog followers!
Today I have another layout to share with you.
My last layouts were of Anthony and Andrea and today
I have another one from the same day that they were from.
This one is of Andrea.
As you can see from the title on the layout,
Andrea is our Godchild.
She is such a sweet little girl and we love her dearly,
how could we not?

I still remember the day Tammy called me and asked
if we would be her Godparents.
I burst into tears, I was so excited and touched
that they would ask us.
The title says adorable, but she is so much more.
Just love this little one, as well as her older brother!
The title was stamped with  wonderful
alphabet stamp sets by Concord & 9th
The paper I used for the background is some I've
had in my stash for ages, but couldn't seem to use.
I was waiting for just the right layout and I guess
I found it, because I really love how it turned out.

Thanks for stopping in.
I have a couple more layouts from this same
picnic, of the rest of the family, so I hope you'll come back
and see how they turned out.
Until then,
enjoy the kids in your life,
because they grow up too fast.

2 Layouts

Hello crafty friends!
Today I have 2 layouts to show you.
On Christmas Eve my daughter, Kelsie, and I got a
little silly taking selfies together.
This layout is the result of that.
I love the relationship that I have with her,
mother, daughter and best friends.
Having an adult daughter is absolutely wonderful!
I'm so glad I have these pictures that show our
 silly side.
This layout is from Kelsie's 27th birthday.
We were out to dinner for her birthday, my hubby's birthday
and our anniversary.
Kelsie took a selfie with each of us.
The Mickey bracelet was a gift from her boyfriends
parents.
This page is about her birthday with her boyfriend,
Jason.  He made it very special for her.
I used their posts from Facebook for the journaling.
I love how this layout turned out,
I think it was her best birthday ever.

Thanks for stopping by today,
I hope you'll stop by again soon.
Until then,
Happy Crafting!

A couple layouts

Hello all!
It's been a while since I showed you some layouts.
Well, it's been a while since I worked on any to be honest.
I was on 3 design teams and as much as I loved it, I found I needed to cut it down to only 1 team.  I wasn't getting any scrapbooking done and that was my first love.  So I made the decision and now I have more time to do some of the scrapbooking that I want to get done.
I am notorious for scrapping out of order.
I've been working on a lot of different times in my life.
My kids are now almost 23 and 20 and I've been working on things from when they were little ones right on up to more recent times.
Today I'm showing you a double page layout of the day we had
Jaryd's senior portraits done.
I love how they turned out and need to do another LO so I can use more of them.
Sorry about that glare, I used some Flip Flaps
(I think that's what they are called) from Close To My Heart
and getting a good picture without reflection was near impossible.

Here you can see how they flip up to see the other pictures.
I love these Flip Flaps. They just stack one on top of another.
It's a great way to fit a lot of pictures on a layout.

This next layout is of a day spent at Niagara Falls with some of my husbands "art show friends" from out of town.
We went on the Sky Wheel to see the Falls.
I'm afraid of heights, but this was just beautiful.
I'll be doing a few more LOs of that day.
We had such a great time!

Thanks for stopping by today.
Leave me a comment if you will and come again soon.

Until next time, Happy Crafting!
