My Other Pages

To make it easier to read about our trip to Ireland, I have made a page that is just for that. There is a tab above for Ireland Trip 2014 or click on the Home tab to read my other posts. I have also created a new page for My Weight Loss Journey if you are interested in that, click on the tab above.

Annoucement

 Hello Blog friends.

I just need to let y'all know that I have to take a little break

from my blogging for a bit.

2 weeks ago we had a fire in our garage and it has turned

our lives upside down.

We were grilling for dinner and when I dumped the hot coals into the grill

from the chimney one of them fell into the garbage can that was near by.

My husband put the garbage can back where we keep it in the garage.

An hour or so later we had just finished up dinner and were relaxing on

the deck when our daughter, Kelsie, heard something and when she checked it

out, it was a fire.

The volunteer fire department were here within about 5 minutes and put the

fire out pretty quickly, but, of course there was a lot of damage.

We will be having the garage totally rebuilt and Dave and I have been

going through the contents and listing what we have lost, which is

about 80% of what was in there.

So many special things were lost, as we were storing some of my Mom's

antique furniture in there, but at least we still have our memories.

We were very lucky that this fire wasn't much worse than it was.

I can't imagine how people deal with a house fire, the garage is

hard enough.

It's been a real struggle and very emotional
and you wouldn't think it's as bad as it is.
But with it being a 2 floor garage, we had
a lot stored up in that attic and that's where
we lost so much.
Anyway, all this is to say that I just don't have
the time be crafting and posting right now.
So I'll be taking a break for a couple weeks,
but then I'll be back with my usual
creative posts.
Thanks for your support and understanding.
I'll leave you with something happy.
This is my beautiful little Marie,

Hope these pictures give you a smile.

Thanks for stopping by today,
I'll see you in a couple weeks.

Crochet Easter Animals

Hello and Happy Easter!
When I saw the pattern for this little chick,
I knew I had to make it for Marie's Easter basket.
It was so easy to make and worked up
quick.  I made it while I was watching TV one
evening.  I love how it turned out and I bet she'll
love it too.
If you're interested in the pattern you can find it
Then I found patterns for other animals and had to make
this cat, or mowmow as Marie says.
I'll be honest, I had a hard time with the face and I'm
not totally satisfied with it, but it's the best I could
do.
Here is the post for this pattern.
This lady has so many beautiful patterns,
if you are interested in crocheting animals especially,
you should check her out.
.
And I couldn't help myself when I saw
This was the easiest and fastest one of all.
And I learned a new stitch making this.
I'm not sure what I'll put into this little cup,
but I'll figure something out.
Marie is sure getting some cute handmade
things in her Easter basket this year.

Thanks for stopping in and spending time here.
I hope, if you crochet, that you'll check out the links
above and give some of the patterns a try.
Come again soon,
until then,
learn something new!
