Halloween Card for Marie

Hello and Happy Halloween!
Today I have the card I made for my
Granddaughter, Marie, for Halloween.
She is very into pumpkins right now and
when I take her for a walk, she constantly
asks to see more pumpkins.  So we look in all
the yards trying to find as many pumpkins as
we can.
I thought a pumpkin on her card would be most
appropriate.
I cut the pumpkin with my Silhouette Cameo
out of orange card stock.
There are 2 layers and the top layer was inked
just a little bit with brown ink and then popped up
on foam tape to give a bit of dimension.
The Happy Halloween was also cut with my
Silhouette using the LD Lightning font with a shadow.
The background piece is some adhesive cork that I had
in my stash.
It's all mounted on a white card base.
I think Marie will love this card!

Thanks for coming by today,
I hope you have been inspired in some way.
Come again soon,
until then,
BOOOOOO!

Halloween Cards for A&A

Hello All!
Today I have a couple Halloween cards to show you.
I wanted to do something a little different for these
two cards and came up with the idea of
coffins that open.
Here is what I came up with.
I created a coffin with black card stock.
Using Ms. Sparkle & Co Spider Web stamp
that I got from Joann's ages ago, I stamped
the front with VersaMark Ink and embossed
For the inside, I found a skull image I liked on
Google and traced it and colored it to make it
my own, then I fussy cut it and put it on a
"wobbler"
The Happy Halloween sentiment was from
my stash.
For the second card I did the same for the front,
Inside I found a "sugar skull" that I liked,
printed, colored and fussy cut it
and put it on a 'wobbler' too.
The coffins were then adhered to a piece of gray
card stock, a photo turn was added to hold it closed
and dash marks were drawn around the outside to
finish it off.
I think the kids that are receiving these cards will
like them.  I think they turned out really cute.
Happy Halloween!

Thanks for spending some time with me today,
come again soon.
Until then,
enjoy some crafty fun!

Bumpkins

Hi and welcome to my blog!

Today I have a little project to show you that
my kids did with a couple friends and their
little ones.
They made "Bumpkins"
Maybe you've seen then on Pinterest or
somewhere online.
They painted the kids little bottoms with
orange paint, then sat them down onto a
canvas.  This makes an impression that looks
like a pumpkin.

Here is the results of their painted behinds.

Then they had the kids paint with their fingers,
hands, and feet, creating the sun, leaves and grass.
The two Dads painted in a few details and they had their
cute Bumpkin pictures!

Here are the finished pictures
Aiden (about 1 yr old) did the one on the left,
Marie, my granddaughter, (2 yrs old in a couple weeks)
did the one on the right.
Are they just too cute or what?!?!

Thanks for coming by today,
stop by again soon.
Until then,
be creative with some kids.

Gratitude Card

Good day!
Today I'm showing you the cards I designed for
our Girlfriends and Gratitude Crop at
My Happy Place Scrapbooking and Crafting.
Each cropper got a kit in their goodie bag with all
the elements for the card.
The card base is a simple white card stock, cut to
8.5" x 5.5" and scored at 4.25 to make a standard A2 card.
I cut pieces of kraft card stock slightly smaller than the
size of the card base.
The flowered piece is a strip of beautiful vellum
that I wrapped around and adhered to the back of the
kraft card stock.
I decided to give everyone a choice of sentiments to use.
I stamped them and cut them to size and cut the
white card stock to mat them also.  All they need to do is
put them together and they have a lovely card to send
to a friend or as a thank you card.
I wanted to show how easy it is to make a
pretty card that someone will love to receive.
I think they turned out lovely.

Thanks for stopping in today.
I hope you'll come again soon.
Until then,
show gratitude.

Wedding Card

Hello!
Welcome to Kristie Kreates.
Today I have a special wedding card to show you.
I have known Brian since he and my son, Jaryd,
were 3 yrs old and met in nursery school.
Our families have been close ever since and
Jaryd and Brian have been best friends since.
They were best man in each others weddings and
Brian is my #2 son.
He recently got married to a lovely young lady.
I wanted to make a special card for them
and this is what I came up with.
I cut the
"wedding couple and arch"
was cut on my Silhouette Cameo with a file
I bought from the Silhouette Design Store.
I then stamped the Poppies from Stacy Stamps
 onto terracotta colored
card stock with VersaFine Onyx Black ink.
I shaded the images with Arteza colored pencils
and fussy cut them.
Their wedding colors were olive and terracotta, so
this combination worked our perfectly for their
card.
I used foam tape and 3 in 1 glue to adhere the flowers
to the card to give it some dimension.
For the inside of the card I wrote a personal note.
I absolutely LOVE how this card turned out
and I hope they did too.

Thanks for stopping by today.
I hope you like this card as much as I do
and have been inspired in some way.
Come again soon.
Until then,
create something outside your box.

3rd Anniversary

Hello blog fans!
My son and daughter in law celebrated their
3rd anniversary on September 29th and
Sara asked me to help her with a card for Jaryd.
Since they don't have a printer, she asked if I could
whip up a card for her.
She sent me this info and I happily made the card for her.
I printed the front panel in purple onto white card stock.
I used an embossing folder with little hearts to
emboss the purple mat for the sentiment.
Then adhered both pieces to a piece of silver
vellum.
Since purple and gray were the colors for their
wedding I thought this was perfect for this card.
The card was just a little too big for an A2 envelope,
so I made one for the card with a gray card stock.
I think this card turned out very nice and I hope
they both like it too.

Thanks for stopping in today to see what I've been doing.
I hope you have been inspired in some way and enjoyed
your time here.
Come again soon,
Until then,
make something for someone.
