Tags - Stars

Hi All.
It's tag series day.

These tags were made with white card stock
cut to size then stamped with
stars from a Dyan Reaveley stamp set.
(I can't find this set to link online, but
any set would do.)
I used VersaFine Crimsom Red Ink to stamp the stars
on the tag. I stamped and heat embossed the small
stars with silver embossing powder, then fussy cut them.

I used red metallic thread to make a little
nest of thread, glued it to the tag and topped it
with the silver star using foam tape.

I hope you have enjoyed your visit with me
and were inspired in some way.
Come again soon,
until then
bring a smile to someone's face

Lego Valentine

Hello blog friends.
A little bit ago, I posted a Lego card that I made
for a birthday and my nephew just loved it.
For Valentine's Day I wanted to make something special
for him.  The other cards I made just didn't
look like something a young boy would like,
so I decided to make him another Lego card.
I found a picture of a Lego heart online
and recreated it with some background pieces
made with alcohol inks from my stash.
I designed it and
cut all the Lego pieces with my Silhouette,
then pieced them together onto
white card stock.
Each of the little circles are on tiny
foam dot adhesive pieces.
It was a bit fussy, but well worth
the time, as I love how it turned out.
I hope Anthony loves it as much as I do.

Thanks for stopping by today,
I hope you've been inspired in some way and
will come again soon.
Until then
think outside the box and try something
new!

Tags - A Gift For You!

Hi there!
Today I have another design of the tags I made for
my tag swap with my online friends.

I stamped the background with a background stamp
and Smokey Gray VersaFine ink.
I'm sorry I don't have the name of the stamp handy.
I stamped "Girl With Balloon" onto white
card stock and colored them with colored pencils, then
fussy cut them.

I adhered each one to a tag  and stamped
A gift for you!
This sentiment was from a set for
making tags  (I have no idea what
company it is from, sorry.)
onto the tag front and To and From onto
the back.
So there's tag #2 in the series,
I hope you like it and that my friends
do too.
Thanks for stopping in,
come again soon.
Until then
Happy Crafting!

Happy Valentine's Day!

Happy Valentine's Day!
I like to have a little something for
the hubby and kids for Valentine's Day.
I made them all cards, which I'll
be posting at another time, since it's
a design that can be used for any occasion.
For today here is what little gifties that I made
for them all.
I bought the candy at Aldi, which is
my favorite store these days.
They have the best chocolates anywhere,
so I picked up a couple boxes,
split them into little zip loc bags and
added little toppers that I designed and printed
from my Silhouette Studio Designer Edition
software.
Add a little ribbon around the top and
they were good to go.
The whole thing took me about 15 minutes
to put together, as I had already designed
the heart design and had it in my library.
I put a little more of those truffles in each
bag than I planned, if I had them in the house
I would eat them and I really shouldn't.
I did keep a few for myself though.

Thanks for stopping by, I hope
your Valentine's Day was
LOVEly.
Until next time,
tell someone you love them!

Tags - Alcohol Ink and Foil

Good day crafty people!
I have a group of friends that are
crafty people.  We are in different areas
of the US and most of us know each other online.
I am close friends with some of them in real life
and I hope to meet the rest of them in person
one day. But for now we are close online friends.
Some of our group decided to have a
Tag Swap.
We have done this at Christmas before,
but this time decide to do other tags.
We needed to make 5 tags for each person
in the swap.  There were only 5 of us participating,
so I needed to make 20 tags for the other ladies.
I will be posting about these tags over the
 next couple weeks.  These are
the first tags in this series.

I knew I wanted to use some of my
alcohol ink pieces for the tags, so I looked
through my stash and found some of the ones
I liked the best.
This one I used alcohol inks on silver metallic
card stock.  I put the ink onto a felt blending tool
and pounced it onto the card stock.
The alcohol inked piece flips up on each
of these tags, you'll see that below.
I made a "messy nest" of silver thread
and topped it with a silver thread bow to
finish it off.

This one was made by dripping alcohol inks
onto white glossy card stock and blowing through
a straw to spread the inks.  I also pounce with
ink and blending solution to create this beautiful
design.  I added a few buttons for interest.

I had an inked tag that matched beautifully
with the alcohol inked piece, so I used that
for the tag base. I inked this tag with
Distress Inks then flicked water onto the tag
and picked it up with a paper towel, creating the
lighter areas.
For all of the tags, I used small strips of
clear acetate packaging to make the hinges.

These next two tags were done on one larger
piece of glossy card stock and cut down.
I used alcohol inks
and when they were not quite dry, and still a little
tacky, I applied gold Deco Foil to them, then pulled it off.
Where ever the ink wasn't dried the gold foil stuck,
that's where you see it on the tags.
I love this technique, you never know
what you'll end up with, it's always different.
To finish one off, I wound gold thread around
the tag and tied a bow on the front.

This one I simply tied a bow with gold thread
and glued it to the front of the tag on top
of a messy nest of thread.

This is what the insides of the tags
look like.

I think my crafty friends will like
the tags I made, each of them will get one of these.
Next post I'll show you some other tags I made for the swap.

Thanks for stopping by today,
until next time, have fun
crafting something.

Unicorn Card

Hi!
Do you love unicorns?
Well, my little God daughter does.
In fact her whole bedroom is done in
unicorns, she absolutely LOVES them.
I knew I needed to make her birthday card
a unicorn card.

I found a unicorn that was free on the internet and
traced it with my
Silhouette Studio Designer Edition software.
I cut all the pieces from some "printable glitter card stock"
that I got on clearance when I was shopping with a friend.
Now I wish I had picked up a few more packets, as
it was only $1.00/pkg.
After cutting all the pieces with my Silhouette,
I colored them with my alcohol inks to be the
colors I needed.  Purple is Andrea's favorite color, so
we certainly needed a purple mane.
I then cut a piece of the glitter card stock for the
background panel and colored that with a variety
of colors of alcohol inks.
The unicorn was adhered with ATG tape and then
put onto a white card stock base with foam tape to
create a pocket.
I made a tag from white card stock and cut the
sentiment from the same inked glitter card stock as
the background piece.
Adding a bit of gold thread at the top finished off the card.
Andrea loved her card and wants it in her unicorn bedroom,
with all he other unicorns.

I'm glad you stopped in today and hope you enjoyed
your visit.
Come again soon, you never know what you'll find at

Lego Card

Hello and welcome to
Kristie Kreates!
Today I have a birthday card to share
with you.  My niece's little guy loves
Legos, so I thought a Lego card would
be perfect for him.
I started with a piece from my stash that
I had created with alcohol inks on glossy
paper.  I simply swiped across the paper
with green, then swiped stripes across with blue,
 turned the paper 90 degrees
and swiped with more blue.
  This created a plaid background.
I thought this would work well for a
background panel.
I then created the legos with my
These were simple enough, just a rectangle
and circles.  I cut them out with my Silhouette,
using scraps from my stash.
I glued the "base" pieces onto the background panel,
then used round foam adhesive behind the circles
to give the dimension of the Legos.
I used foam tape to adhere this piece to a
white card stock base, to make a sort of
pocket.
I made a tag to slip in behind the
Lego panel.
I found a Lego font online, downloaded
it and cut that for the
Happy Birthday sentiment.
When Anthony opened his card, I heard
a "Oh Wow!" from him and that made
me smile.

Thanks for spending time at my blog today,
I hope you've been inspired in some way.
Now go be creative!
