Awesome Gears

Hi!
My last post was showing a card I made to share kindness.
Today I have a few more cards that I made for that purpose.
I wanted to make some cards that were a bit more masculine and I
decided to use the
"Cogs and Gears" stamp set from
Inkadinkado
I arranged the stamps on my MISTI stamping tool
and stamped the images with VersaMark ink.
For the card on the left I only used the VersaMark,
which gives a watermarked image.
For the other 2 cards I stamped with the VersaMark
then brushed on some Perfect Pearls powder
which gives color and shine and only adheres where there
is the sticky VersaMark ink.
The banner was cut with the
The sentiment is one from the
also from Simon Says Stamp
This picture shows a little bit of the shimmery shine that the
Perfect Pearls gives.
I also used a little of the Perfect Pearls around the edge of the
white card bases and the banners on 2 of the cards.

I love how these cards turned out,
I hope you like them too.
I hope you'll stop in again soon,
Father's Day isn't too far away and I have a series of
Father's Day cards to share with you.
Until then,
Create!

Birds

Hello crafting friends!
Today I have a card that was inspired by
After seeing Jennifer's post I decided that I needed to make a few cards
that I could use for sharing kindness.
This is one of those cards.
These little birds are from a set I found at ACMoore
in a clearance bin for only $1.00!
Aren't they adorable?
They are from Inkadinkado.
Unfortunately I can't find them anywhere that I can link to.
Simon Says Stamp
The sentiment is from
also from Simon Says Stamp.
I colored the birds with my Lyra and Neo-Color II
Watercolor crayons
and fussy cut them.
The inside is blank so I can write or stamp a sentiment
when I decide who it is going to.

Thanks for stopping by today,
I hope you'll be inspired to share some kindness today.
Come again soon.
Until then,
Happy Crafting!

Mother's Day Card #6

Today I have #6 and the last in my
Mother's Day Card Series.
I enjoyed making these cards and coming
up with different looks for each one.
I hope you have enjoyed them and as
I have said before, just change that sentiment
and they can be used for almost any occasion.
Today's card was again inspired by
Jennifer McGuire
For this card I chose 2 colors that I thought
went well with the flower I had colored.
I used the single flower from
stamped it onto water color paper
and colored it with
I fussy cut the poppy and backed it with
craft foam.  I also used craft foam on the back
of the sentiment strip. That little bit of
dimension makes a big difference.
The sentiment is from the
from QKR Stampede.

Thanks for popping in today to see
what I've been creating lately.
I hope you've been inspired in some way
and will come again soon.
Until next time,
Happy Crafting!

Mother's Day Card #5

Hi crafty friends!
Now you are probably wondering why I have
made so many Mother's Day cards.
Earlier this year I decided that I wanted to make
a point of sending out more cards to my family,
so that's what I've been trying to do for
holidays.  I'm lucky enough to still have my
Mom, she is 92 yrs old and going strong.
But I also have a few sisters in law that I'll be
sending them too.
Just because they are not MY mother
doesn't mean they don't deserve a card, right?
Today I have card #5 in my series.
This poppy stamp is one of my favorites.
I stamped it with Versafine Onyx Black Ink
onto water color paper.
I colored it with
and fussy cut it.
The black background is from a piece I had
in my stash.  I made this using Perfect Pearls
and black card stock.
It's hard to capture the shimmer in a photograph,
but in real life it's just beautiful.
The larger background was also in my stash,
it was made using
I simply wrapped it around a piece of white
card stock to give it stability,
then adhered it to the card base.
I love having these handmade background
pieces in my stash to choose from.
I used some craft foam on the back of the
black piece to give a little dimension.
The sentiment is from
from QKR Stampede.

I hope you are enjoying these cards,
I sure did enjoy making them.
Come again soon for card #6 and the
last in the Mother's Day Card Series.
See you soon!

Mother's Day Card #4

Hi all!
I hope you had a lovely Mother's Day!
I know it's passed, but I'm continuing my
Mother's Day Card Series
since I think any of these cards could be
used for any occasion,
just switch up the sentiment and you're
good to go.
Today's card was inspired by
Jennifer McGuire and a
using scraps.
I found some colors that I liked and
just went to town with it.
I'm so glad I added in that scrap of
card stock with the silver hearts.
The sentiment is from QKR Stampede
I cut the sentiment into a banner shape and
adhered it with foam tape to give it a bit
of dimension.
I really love how this card turned out,
I love the bright happy colors and
hopefully the recipient will too.

I'm so glad you stopped in today to
see what I've been up to.
Come again soon and you'll see
#5 in the series.
Until then,
try something new!

Mother's Day Card #3

Hello!
Today I have card #3 in my
Mother's Day Card Series
For this card I used the
Zinnia stamp from
Impression Obsession
I stamped with Versafine Onyx Black Ink
onto white card stock.
I stamped onto some scrap paper and fussy cut
the flowers to use as masks.
This gives the look of the flowers being
in front of or behind others.
I colored the flowers with my
and a
I fussy cut around the top of the flowers,
adhered it with foam tape to the card base.
The sentiment is from the
from QKR Stampede.
To finish off the card I added some
small sequins and Yellow Nuvo Drops.
I think they added just the right touch
to finish it off.

Thanks for stopping by today,
I hope you are enjoying my
Mother's Day Card Series.
Next time will be card #4.

Mother's Day Card #2

Hi crafty people!
Today I have #2 in my
Mother's Day Card Series
This card was inspired by my friend Marleen
Marleen posted a video
showing this background technique
on her blog
I used the tree stamp from the
Mindscape Fall Stamp Set from Inkadinkado
for both the background as well as the
tree as the focal point.
The sentiment is from
from QKR Stampede.
for the background and
for the tree and sentiment.
The tree was fussy cut and adhered with
foam tape to the background panel.
This card could be for any occasion,
just change up that sentiment and you're good to go.

Thanks for stopping by today,
I hope you have been inspired in some way.
And I hope you'll pop over to Marleen's
blog and check out her video to learn
how to make this background.
Until next time,
Make something pretty!

Mother's Day Card

Mother's Day is coming up pretty quickly.
Sunday, May 14th is Mother's Day,
have you started your cards yet?
I have to make a few cards to send out,
and this is my first.
When I was shopping with a couple friends
in Ohio, I found this
for half price, so I had to pick it up.
I do love flower stamps!
I stamped it with Versafine Onyx Black Ink,
colored it with my Fantasia Colored Pencils,
then fussy cut the pieces.
I used my Prismacolor blender pencil
for the first time and love how it works.
I wanted something more than a plain white background,
so I went into my stash of goodies and found
a piece of deli paper that I had colored with
alcohol inks and used that.
The sentiment is from the
QKR Stampede
I wasn't sure at first how I liked this card, but
it really has grown on me and I really do like it.
I'm hoping to get some more
Mother's Day cards done this weekend.
How about you, what do you have planned?

Thanks for stopping by,
see you again soon!

G-Ma

Hello Crafty Peeps!
I'm so lucky to still have my Mom.
She is now 92 yrs old.
I made this layout the other day with pictures
of my Mom and my kids.
We are so blessed to have her in our lives.
I hate covering beautiful paper and patterns,
so I use a craft knife to cut around the pattern,
then put it over the picture.
I love this picture taken at my niece Tammy's
family picnic a couple years ago.
Jaryd, always calls Mom G-Ma.
When Kelsie was little she called her Mommy Mama,
to differentiate her from Daddy Mama,
which was what she called my hubby's Mom.
The picture of just her is one of my favorites,
I took it when we were out to  dinner with the kids
after our "Great Pumpkin Hunt" one year.
The one with the 3 of them was Mother's Day 3 yrs ago.
Not sure when the other one was taken, but I love it,
it makes me smile, I think it shows Jaryd's happy personality
and how glad he is to be spending time with her
.
Thanks for stopping by to see what I've been up to lately.
Hope you'll come again soon.
Until then,
create something wonderful!
