To make it easier to read about our trip to Ireland, I have made a page that is just for that. There is a tab above for Ireland Trip 2014 or click on the Home tab to read my other posts. I have also created a new page for My Weight Loss Journey if you are interested in that, click on the tab above.

I'm Back!!!

Sorry I've been away for so long. The hip replacement went very well and the stay at the rehab center went by quickly. I came home a week ago Thursday and am doing very well. I'm getting around better than everyone expected, have been out to scrapbooking a couple times, but still can't get into my crafting room. Things are a little tight in there for the walker. I see the Doc again on the 13th and maybe then I will be able to walk with out the walker and able to get in there to do some crafting.

I have some pics of some of the things I worked on at the hospital and in rehab. I stamped a bunch of images and took them and my watercolor crayons and aqua brush along with me.

Let me apologize for the terrible quality of the pictures. I had to take them here at my desk as I can't really get outside very easily to take them right now.

As you can see, I need to practice a bit with my crayons and aqua pen. I haven't done much with them before and shading doesn't come naturally to me. I think with practice I will do a lot better.

I love large flower stamps and this rose is a favorite of mine. Until now I haven't had a chance to work with it much, but I think I will be using it quite a bit, once I get that shading down. I don't know where I even got this stamp, but I do love it.
This one is one from Stampin' Up! I saw it in a catalog the first time I saw one of their catalogs, but it was a hostess gift! Booo! Then I went to a party at my friend Jessica's and the lovely demo said she had one that she would sell me. I was so excited to have it. I got it and it has sat there in my stamp cabinet ever since. I finally got it out and painted it. I love it! Like the other one, I'd like to get better at some of the shading, but for a first try, I don't think it turned out too bad.

These are a few of the images I got when I won the QKR Blog Hop prize. I love them! I also got the "You are my Sunshine" stamp to go with that cute patchwork sun. I think they will make adorable cards.

The two rose border images are from QKR, I think these will be just great with a little sentiment stamped in the middle. So many uses for that border stamp! I'm not sure where I got these other images and I'm not in the craft room, so I can't check to see who made them.
I've been working on a few cards and layouts at My Happy Place but haven't finished them. The major thing is that I am working on invitations to Jaryd's graduation/18th birthday party. When I get them done, I'll be posting that for y'all to see.
Until then happy crafting.
As always, thanks for stopping by. I'd love for you to become a follower if you aren't already and leave me a comment if you like.

Welcome back, Kristie!!! Glad that you're recovery is going well and that you are able to dabble in your craft room. I can't wait to see your finished projects. You commented on my blog about the Moose stamp and not being able to find it on the QKR website. I checked . . . it comes up under the winter category . . . I was surprised that it didn't come up when I typed in "moose" for my search . . . the digi image came up, but not the actual rubber stamp image. I'll give a heads-up to Maribeth at QKR.

Wow, Kristie, sounds like you have been through a lot lately. Glad your surgery is over and your home and on the mend. Sounds like you are exceeding everyones expectations already. What a good idea to take the stamped images and your watercoloring stuff. Your flowers turned out so nice. The thing that attracted me to rubber stamps is that they have the shadows on the stamp already to show you where to shade! Hope you continue to mend, and can soon get into your stamp room. Can't wait to see what you do with your newly colored flowers. Take Care
