My Other Pages

To make it easier to read about our trip to Ireland, I have made a page that is just for that. There is a tab above for Ireland Trip 2014 or click on the Home tab to read my other posts. I have also created a new page for My Weight Loss Journey if you are interested in that, click on the tab above.

Hedwig

Hello crafty friends!
My grand daughter's nursery is going to
have a combined theme of Harry Potter and
Marie from Aristocats.
I think it's going to be adorable and
Jaryd, Sara and I have come up with some
really cute ideas that we'll be working on together.
And what Potter lover doesn't need a little
Hedwig?
Sara sent me a link to
and I, of course, had to make one.
I found it pretty easy to make.
The only thing I changed was the eyes.
The pattern calls for little plastic eyes,
but I didn't want those for our
little Marie.  I did what I'll call a
modified French Knot.
I call it modified, because when I
wrapped the yarn around the needle,
I wrapped it several times.
This gave the eyes a little bit
of  bulk, shall I say?
I think she turned out very nice.
I'd like to play with the pattern so I could make
another one that is larger.
I don't have her here,
but I think she measured about
4" - 5" tall.
I'd love to make one that is
double the size.
I've never tried to increase the size like
this, but I'm going to give it a try.

Thanks for stopping in,
come again soon,
you never know what you'll find on

Mixed Media Art Class

Hi there!
I like to do all different kinds of crafts
and art projects. When I saw a class advertised
for a mixed media project, I decided I wanted to
take it.  My daughter, Kelsie, joined me for the class.
We both totally enjoyed it.

Here is a picture of me with Chaitali Dekhtawala, the instructor.
You can follow her on Instagram
My Creative Color Palette
If you are in the Buffalo, NY area, she does
classes and parties.  Check her out.
She was wonderful and went through the project
step by step.  We all had our choices, but she explained
how to use and layer the different elements.
It was interesting to see the difference in everyone's projects
when we were all given the same instruction.

This is my finished project.
I love how it turned out and I'm sure
I'll be doing more mixed media artwork.

Thanks for spending time with me today.
I hope you'll return again soon.
Until then,
try something new and different.

Super Dad Shirts

Hello everyone!
Today I'm showing you a couple shirts I
helped Sara with.  She did all the designing,
cutting and weeding of the
heat transfer vinyl.
 I did the placement
and pressing with my heat press.
In case y'all are wondering where I have
the heat press etc. here's a picture, not a very good one,
of me, getting the shirt ready to press.
Yes, I'm just setting it up on my washer.
The heat press is right next to it.
Such a professional set up.  LOL!
Here is the small shirt all set up to go into the press.
Here is how it turned out.
Here is how the father's shirt turned out.
And here are a couple pictures of
father and daughter when she gave them to him
for Father's Day.
I think they turned out really nice and they loved
them too.

Thanks for stopping by and spending time with me.
I hope you have been inspired in some way.
Until next time,
make something fun for a friend.
