My Other Pages

To make it easier to read about our trip to Ireland, I have made a page that is just for that. There is a tab above for Ireland Trip 2014 or click on the Home tab to read my other posts. I have also created a new page for My Weight Loss Journey if you are interested in that, click on the tab above.

Swimming Challenge

Hello!  I hope your summer is going great!
What says summer more than swimming?
And that is exactly what our theme is this week on
For my swimming themed card, I have used
"Bubbles Background" (#58101) and
"Flying Girl Holder" (#21701) from
I stamped the Bubbles Background onto white card stock
and cut the top along one of the "waves"
I used the Flying Girl Holder to create a girl diving into the water.
Below is what the image actually looks like.
digi21701 Flying Girl Holder
As you can see, I modified it a bit.
I masked off the girls dress and stamped the rest onto white card stock.
I then used a black pen to draw in her bathing suit.
I colored and fussy cut the girl and posed her as a diver
on the card with foam tape.
I think this would be an adorable invitation to a pool party.
Too bad I don't have a pool, eh?
I love to find different ways to use my stamps, to stretch my supplies and
create something a little different than what was intended.
Thanks for coming by today,
I hope you have learned something and been inspired.
I also hope you'll join in the fun of our
swimming challenge this week.
All the particulars about the challenge are on the

The Selflessness Project

Last week I came across this story
and decided to make a card to send out to Matthew for his project.
Here is the card I made at My Happy Place.
I used some distress inks for the background and FlexMarkers to color the
"Flying Girl Holder" (#21701)
"Oval Balloon" (#5201)
and "Heart Balloon" (#5204)
which are all images from Eureka! Stamps
The grass is stamped with
"Field Grass Right" (#38925)
The girl and balloons were fussy cut and adhered to the card with foam tape.
I hope you'll read the story about this little boy and maybe make a card or two to send off to him for his project.
On their facebook page his Mom says they have already surpassed his goal and it is bigger than they ever imagined and I'm sure it's going to keep on growing!
and see what you would like to use to make some cards.

Thanks for stopping by today, leave a comment if you will and
come again soon!

Up Up and Away!

Hello!  Welcome to my blog!
Today I'm showing you a fun card I made with stamps from
I used 4 different stamps from the Balloons/Holders category.

I stamped "Flying Girl Holder" (#21701) onto water color paper and colored her with water color crayons.
I stamped "Oval Balloon" (#5201) and "Heart Balloon (#5204) onto a variety of scraps.
I fussy cut all the pieces.
The background and hills were pieced onto a white card stock base.

I then added all the cut pieces and stamped the
"Up, Up and Away!" (#11802) sentiment onto the card.

I loved the card, just needed to add the strings to the balloon.
Well, let me tell you, card making is not an exact science and at times we just need to go with the flow and remember what I always say
"There are no mistakes, just chances to be more creative."

Well, this was one of those times!
I didn't think about the 'hills' being cut out of vellum when I stamped the sentiment.
VersaFine Ink does not dry on vellum, so when I went to tie the strings onto the balloons the black ink smeared all over the card.

Luckily most of it cleaned off with a baby wipe.
I stamped the sentiment onto white card stock, fussy cut it and
adherred it to the card.

Honestly, I like it better before, but as they say, it is what it is.
I still like the card, just not as much as I did before my chance to be more creative.

Thanks for stopping by today.
Leave a comment if you wish and come back soon.

Flying Girl

Happy Day to you all!

Today I would like to share a happy card with you that I made with 3 images from Eureka! Stamps.

I am having so much fun working with the balloons and holders.  If you haven't seen these images, you should go check them out in the Eureka! Stamps Store.
Just "Go Shopping!" then click on the "balloons/holders" category.
There are so many options and once you have a few, you can interchange them.

For this fun card, I used the Flying Girl Holder (#21701), Oval Balloon (#5201) and Heart Balloon (#5204)

The Flying Girl was stamped onto watercolor paper and colored with watercolor crayons and fussy cut.  The balloons were stamped onto various colors of scrap card stock and fussy cut.

I used crochet cotton for the balloon strings, which were all gathered for the girl to hold on to.

Some of the balloons were adhered with ATG Tape while the girl and the rest of the balloons were adhered with foam tape to give a bit of dimension to the card.
The clouds were free handed onto white card stock and adhered with ATG Tape.

Thank you for stopping by today!  I hope this card made you smile and that you have enjoyed it.

Until next time, Happy Crafting!
