Dancing Leaves

Hello and welcome!

Today I have a card that I made with

"Tree Losing Leaves" (#34502) from Eureka! Stamps

For the background I used a couple different colors of Distress Ink.

I rubbed some ink onto my craft mat, spritzed it with water and then laid some white card stock into it.

Once it was dry I stamped the "Tree Losing Leaves" image onto it, then colored it with FlexMarkers.

On the inside of the card I stamped

"When I See" (#34902) also from Eureka! Stamps

Favorite Technique

Hello all!

I hope you're all having a great week.

Today I'm posting about one of my favorite techniques.

Simon Says Stamp and Show challenge this week is "Favorite Techniques"

I have long been a fan of the Simon Says Blog and just recently became acquainted with their challenges.

One of my favorite techniques is stamping on pages from old books.

I love the look of it, the vintagy feel and I really enjoy coloring on these pages.

Here are 2 cards where I have used this technique.

On this card I used "Rose" (#17505) from Eureka! Stamps and colored it with watercolor crayons.  Using these crayons, you must be careful not to use too much water or the paper will literally crumble.

This card was made with a stamp from Stampin' Up, sorry I don't know the name of it, but it was a hostess special a long time ago.

Again I used watercolor crayons to color it and used another of my favorite techniques and 'fussy cut' the image.

I know a lot of people don't like fussy cutting, but I love it.

Where many say it makes them nuts to do all that cutting, I find it to be very relaxing.

School is Cool

Hello everyone!

I'm so glad to welcome you to my first post for a

Eureka! Stamps Challenge.

Our theme is "Back to School"

Seems appropriate with school starting soon.

In my area school doesn't start until after Labor Day so there is a little more time left for the kids around here to enjoy some summer fun. 

But school time will be here before they know it.

The summer aways seems to fly by!

I used "Cool Cat with Shades" (#23902) from

Eureka! Stamps for my card.

He is colored with FlexMarkers, fussy cut and adhered with foam tape.

The "brick" background is some patterned vellum that I found in my extensive scraps stash.

The 'school is cool' was cut with the Sizzix and inked with a bit of Distress ink.

Noel

Yep!  I'm getting a few Christmas cards done, but I'm thinking I'll probably end up in a crunch in November or December anyway.  I've only gotten 3 done so far and that's not much of a dent in the 50 or so that I need.

Anyway, here's my most recent one.

I used

"noel" from the "Friends" set of words (#46202)

from QKR Stampede

and

"Snow Star" (#84204)

from Biblical Impressions

I colored the Snow Star image with FlexMarkers.

I love the set the 'noel' came from. 

I love the script and the size, just love everything about them.

The "Friends" set has 5 different words. 

friends, joy, love, celebrate and noel

There is also another set titled "Believe" (#46201)

that has 5 different words,

believe, inspire, adventure, create and imagine.

I think that may be one of the next things I order from QKR.

Check them out, there is so much you can do with these word stamps!

These are great for using on your scrapbook pages too.

Ribbon background

Hello!

On my card today I used some ribbon from May Arts.

I was a lucky winner on their blog a few months back and this is one of the ribbons I chose.  May Arts only sells wholesale from their site, but there is a Store Locator on their site, to find a store close to you, where you can purchase some of their wonderful ribbons.

A while ago, I saw a card with a woven ribbon background and loved the look and had that card in mind when I made this one.

I used:

Lg. Jar and Apples (#23105)

from QKR Stampede
I stamped the image onto white cardstock and colored it with
 FlexMarkers.  I fussy cut the image and used Glossy Accents on the jar to give it the look of glass.

"heart" U

One of my favorite blogs is Kristina Werner's, she has some amazing designs and the best videos. I saw a card similar to this on her blog and loved it, so I have used it for inspiration.

I didn't have a U stamp with me when I made this card, so I made my own.

I cut out several U's with the Sizzix and ran them all through the Xyron sticker maker, then layered them onto one another.  I used my Fiskar's Stamp Press and stuck my homemade stamp to it and used Versamark ink to stamp it randomly onto the blue cardstock.

I used a pair of zig zag scissors to cut the paper and adhered it to the white cardstock base.

I stamped one more U onto the blue and cut it out, stuck it to white cardstock and cut it with a bit of white showing.

The heart was punched with a tiny heart punch and the dashes were done with a white pen.

I then stamped the sentiment which is

"Happy Anniversary" from the "Happy Birthday" set

I think this is a fun little card and was very simple to make.

Happy Birthday

It's about birthday cards today!

I have 2 birthday cards that I want to show you. 

The first one is made with

"Sm Basket Weave" (#90402)

"Happy Birthday" (#36314)

from Biblical Impressions

When I found this little brown 'bag' in my supplies, I decided that I wanted to make a card with it.  I stamped it using VersaMark ink and the

"Sm Basket Weave" stamp. 

I used a ruler and tore the edges of the kraft cardstock.

I adhered the red cardstock to the kraft and stamped the
"Happy Birthday" sentiment onto it with Color Box Fluid Chalk Ink.

The bag was adhered to the card with ATG tape.

The pull out tag is just the right size to hold a gift card, stamp a sentiment, or just sign your name.

This second card is made with the same "Happy Birthday" stamp as the first. I really love the font and the size of this stamp.

Perfect for a standard A2 card.

I cut coordinating pieces of patterned paper in varying sized strips and adhered them to some white cardstock.

I then ran this through the Cuttlebug in an embossing folder.

(sorry I don't have a clue what the name of that folder is.)

The fiber I tied around it is from my stash, as is the "screw top" brad.

I usually have a tough time with masculine cards, but I think these 2

 turned out very nice.
