Bank for Emmett

A while ago I posted about my new great nephew

Emmett.

Today I'm posting about him again, well actually

about the gift I made for him for the baby shower 

we are having.

My nephew and niece are big Disney fans and 

have plans to go to Disney next year.

I decided to make a bank for Emmett

using a glass block.

You can buy these at the craft stores.

I used vinyl and my Silhouette Cameo to 

cut the designs.

Here is the back of the back.

Here is the front and the top of the bank.

And on the bottom, I put my trademark little kiss.

I plan to put some money inside to start his little savings.

Happy Easter

Hello and a Blessed Easter to you all!

Today I'm showing you the little "treats" I made

for Easter.

I saw a post on Silhouette America Blog

that used eggs similar to these and thought they'd be cute

for our Easter dinner.

So I created my own file and made these little eggs.

I made 4 different colors.

If I had thought ahead a bit, I could have gotten some 

cute paper to use, but me, being me, I waited almost till the

last minute.

So I decided to use white card stock with colored 

accents.

They were simple to make and I filled them with

a little bit of Easter candy.

My husband is a sweetheart and sets the table for me,

so I just folded down the napkin and put an egg in each glass.

We only are having 8 at our Easter dinner,

so they didn't take long and I think they are

just the right size for a little treat.

Somebunny Loves You

Hello crafty people!

Today I'm sharing a cute little card with you.

I love this "Daydreaming Bunny" image from 

QKR Stampede

I stamped him with Versa Fine ink and colored 

him with colored pencils, blending the colors with 

odorless mineral spirits.

The sentiment
"Some Bunny" is also from QKR Stampede.

I fussy cut the bunny and used foam tape to adhere him 

to the card base.

I don't know what I'll use this card for,

but I think it's adorable.

Baby Card for Emmett

Hello friends!

It's a happy time in my family!

Last week my nephew and niece got a phone call

very early in the morning.

A baby was born and they could adopt it.

This couple has gone through so much and wanted a baby so badly,

and now they have one.

I received a call from my brother that he is a grandfather

to a baby boy.

The little sweetheart is named

Emmett Timothy 

and he is a real beauty!

Our entire family is excited and I can't wait 

to meet my newest "great"

I now have 10 great nieces and nephews!

This is the card I made to welcome Emmett to

the family.

I stamped it with Versa Fine Black Onyx ink

and colored it with colored pencils.

I used odorless mineral spirits to blend

the colored pencil.

Gamsol is one brand name for 

the odorless mineral spirits,

what I use is a "generic" brand that a friend

shared with me.

I left the inside of the card blank so I can

write a message to our new 

little blessing.

I used an unmounted rubber stamp,

but this also comes in digital format.

Enamel Dots on a Layout

I just wanted to pop in and show y'all a layout I did

where I used some of my home made enamel dots.

These are pictures from the photo booth at my nephew and nieces

wedding.  We all had so much fun with this photo booth.

And I'm having fun scrapbooking the pictures.

Diagonal Stripes With Foil

One of my favorite blogs is 

Jennifer McGuire Ink

where I recently saw this post and 

was inspired to make the card below.

It's very hard to see, but I used silver tape 

for some of the stripes.

I had a very difficult time getting a good photograph

of this card, that tape just reflected and looked black in the

pictures.

So you'll have to use your imagination and imagine that those

dark stripes are the shiny silver that they are.

This picture isn't the best either, but it shows that

they are silver.

Jennifer used a product that is actually made for

crafting, where as I used some silver foil tape that I got

at a hardware store. 

Apparently it is used on ductwork, what do I know?

It works great for crafting.

I love using products that are not necessarily 

made for crafting, but work for it just the same.

Do some wandering around your local hardware

store, you never know what you'll find.
