Invitation cancellation

Hello all!  Glad to see you here on my blog!

A few weeks ago I received a commission to create some bridal shower invitations.  I got the sample all done and approved, got the go ahead and started stamping.  I don't know about others, but when I have 40 of the same thing to make, I do it in stages.  The first thing I did was stamp 40 of the Bouquet (#16220) image from QKR Stampede onto cream card stock with VersaFine Smokey Gray ink.

Once I had them stamped I was ready to color them with watercolor crayons.  I had a few of them done and was just about to start the rest, when I got a call to "hold the presses"  turns out that the wedding is off.

What to do with all those stamped images?!?!  I'm not sure if I will finish off the rest of them, but here is one that I did finish as a card.
I set up my Cricut Expressions with my SCAL2 program to cut the ovals on the light purple speckled card stock.  After running this piece through the Cuttlebug with the Swiss Dots embossing folder, I used Milled Lavender Distress ink to ink the edges of the oval and the sides.

I adhered this piece over the stamped piece.  I used variegated purple embroidery floss to wrap around the top and tied a bow. Then adhered the entire piece to a Core'dinations Card Stock base.

Thanks for stopping by today!  Feel free to leave me a comment and let me know what you think of this card.

Until next time, Happy Crafting!

Masculine Happy Birthday

Hello!  Hope you're having a great day!

I don't make a lot of masculine cards, but this one turned out to be a bit on the masculine side and I really like it.
I used 3 different stamps from QKR Stampede,   Trees (#21601), Cattails (#11602) and Happy Birthday (#22803)
I started by setting up the nesting ovals on my SCAL2 program and cutting them on my Cricut Expressions

I used white card stock for the oval in the center.  I used Pan Pastels to color the background and used hair spray to set the color.

I then use the Trees stamp on the sides of the oval.  These trees are one stamp, first I inked up the stamp with VersaFine Mossy Green and Smokey Gray inks and stamped the right side of the oval.  Then repeated the process and stamped the left side of the oval.  Since I used only half the image on each side, it looks like two different stamps.

I used watercolor crayon to color the trunk of the trees.
I then stamped the Cattails stamp, using VersaFine Smokey Gray, then colored that image with watercolor crayons.

I layered and adhered the 3 ovals with ATG tape and then adhered them to the green card stock, and onto the card base.
All these card stocks were from my scrap stash.

I cut the 2 sizes of a banner from SCAL2, stamped the white one with the Happy Birthday stamp and inked the edges with the Mossy Green ink and adhered it to the larger banner, then onto the card.

I'm pleased with how this card turned out.  I don't do a lot of masculine cards, seems to be the hardest style of card for me.

Thanks for stopping by today! You know I always like to have your feedback, so leave me a comment if you care to.

Until next time, Happy Crafting!

You're an Angel

QKR Stampede has the cutest angel images!  For this card I used Praying Angel (#16215) I stamped this adorable angel onto white card stock and colored her with watercolor crayons.  I then fussy cut her, adhered her to some Core'dinations Card Stock and fussy cut again, this gave the image a bit more depth on the card.
The base of the card is white card stock. I used some speckled card stock in a very light purple for the first layer.  I got a packet of these 4"x6" pieces at Hollo's Paper Crafts in Brunswick, Ohio.  If you are ever in the Cleveland area, you need to stop there, they have so many wonderful paper and crafting items at fabulous prices.
For the sentiment, I used my SCAL2 program and my Cri-Kits Metallic pens and my Cricut Expressions to write it out.  Then cut it down to size, layered it onto Core'dinations Card Stock, then adhered it to the card.
Praying Angel was adhered with foam tape.
The little star bling is from my stash.

Stop over at QKR Stampede to see this and so many other adorable angel images, both in rubber and digital stamps.

Thanks for stopping by today.  Leave me a comment and let me know what you think.
