My Other Pages

To make it easier to read about our trip to Ireland, I have made a page that is just for that. There is a tab above for Ireland Trip 2014 or click on the Home tab to read my other posts. I have also created a new page for My Weight Loss Journey if you are interested in that, click on the tab above.

Card Drive Cards

 Hi all!
Today I thought I'd show you some more of the
Christmas cards I made for the
Caring Hearts Card Drive.
You can find all the information about this
wonderful drive on
All the cards from this drive are sent to
residents of nursing homes and senior care facilities.
I made several of the same cards.
Once the stamps are set up in my
MISTI stamping tool, it is simple
to make several at one time.
I was inspired by Julia Altermann
to make this card.
I set up the stamps on my MISTI,
then removed the star stamp.
I stamped all the sentiments with
I then re-positioned the star stamp,
removed the other stamps and
stamped the stars with
and heat embossed them with
I glued a few small star sequins
around  for a little more sparkle and
tied "bakers twine"
that I made, around the panel and
tied a bow to finish it off.
See how I made it on
I accidentally got some black ink smudges
on this panel, but went with my motto
"There are no mistakes in crafting,
only opportunities to be more creative"
and I cut the panel down, adhered it to the
card front and added a bow at the top.
It's a little different than the others, but just
as nice, don't ya think?

Thanks for stopping in.
I hope you've been inspired in some way
and I hope you'll join in the
Caring Hearts Card Drive
and help bring smiles to the faces
of some of our seniors.

Until next time,
have some fun crafting!

Shaker Cards

Hello friends!
Today I have a couple Christmas cards to show you.
I was inspired to make these when I saw
For both cards I used  Christmas papers
from my scrap stash,
which happens to be quite extensive.
I really shouldn't keep everything,
but it served me well in this instance.
I decided to make them into shaker cards.
I do wish I had put more bits and pieces
into the shakers, but I haven't done that many shakers
and it sure looked like more than there actually were.
I used some bakers twine to string the
Christmas Lights together as well as at the tops
of the ornaments in the second card.
For both cards I cut the openings with

Thanks for stopping in today to see what
I've been up to.
Come again soon,
until then
have some fun crafting!

Eureka Challenge - For the Kids

Hello Blog friends!
Today we are kicking off another challenge on the
You can find all the particulars there on the blog.
The theme this week is
"For the Kids"
I thought a cute gift card holder would be fun to make.
I used 2 stamps from the Balloons and Holder series
"Christmas Balloon" (#16402) and
"Elf Balloon Holder" (#6509)
I used rubber stamps, but these are also available in digi format.
The Elf and Balloon were colored with FlexMarkers
and fussy cut, then adhered to the polka dot paper with
foam tape.
I used "bakers twine" that I made
for the string holding the balloon.
I made a pocket with red card stock to hold the gift card.

Here you can see the card for inside that holds the gift card.
Maybe not the appropriate kind of gift card for a kid,
but it's what I had.  LOL! One of my favorite restaurants!  Chili's!
I hope I've inspired you to join in the challenge
and show us what you make.
These balloon holders and balloons are such fun to work with.
Stop in to the Eureka Store and check them out,
there are many different ones for
every holiday and occasion.
Thanks for stopping in, come again soon.

Until next time, Happy Crafting!
