Spin Painting

Hello and welcome!

Today I'm sharing some crafty fun I had with 
Marie.
I recently saw someone post this salad spinner on

my Buy Nothing group and was fortunate to

receive it.  I've been wanting to give this a try, 

but didn't want to spend the money on a new salad spinner.

Marie was very intrigued with what we were going to

do with it.

I cut card stock into card sized pieces and

taped them into the bottom of the spinner.

She then chose 2 or 3 colors of craft paint

and squirted them onto the card stock.

We put the top on the spinner and turned 

the handle and gave it a good spin.

When we opened the spinner, we had a pretty

cool abstract design.

This one she chose purple and orange,

as they are Auntie Kelsie and Uncle Brad's

favorite colors.

We tried several different color combinations.

We got lots of different results, but loved them all.

This one and the one below were the first couple

we tried, but we didn't tape them down.
The card stock "flew" around the spinner

and had a totally different look.

This was our first one that we taped down,

I wasn't thinking and put the tape on the sides

of the card stock.  You can see where I pulled the

tape off.  After that we put the tape on the bottom

of the card stock.

All in all we made 8 different spin paint backgrounds.

These are the cards I put together for her to give as 

Valentine's cards.  She's a bit too young to 

cut them etc. but she picked what pieces she wanted

for everyone.
This one was for Auntie Kelsie and Uncle Brad.

This one was for Mommy.

This one was for Daddy.

She was very excited to be able to give

them all cards along with the 

brownies that we made together that

afternoon.  She loves baking and doing

"arts and crafts" and making

things for those she loves.

Of course, they all loved what she had to give them.

This is definitely a craft we'll be doing again.

Feet and Hand Print Pictures

Hi Everyone!

Thanks for stopping by today.

As you know, I have a precious little

Granddaughter, Marie.

On Saturdays, she spends time with 

Auntie Kelsie, they call it 

S"aunt"erday.  Sometimes Marie goes to 

Auntie Kelsie's house and sometimes they spend

time together with Mommy.

Here are a few painting projects that they made

recently.  They are so cute and creative, that I had

to share them with you.

Marie loves dinosaurs.

Sara (Mommy) made this one with her.
The hand print is Sara's and the feet are Marie's.

How cute is that?!?!

They also made this one together.

So sweet!

Kelsie and Marie made this one for

"Uncle" Brad, Kelsie's boyfriend.
So creative!

It makes my heart melt.

Sometimes they have a girlie day and spend time 

having a "spa day" together.

They do hair, make up and nails together.

Marie even has her own kids nail polish and some make up 

brushes.  They are all pretty princesses!

Marie is surely a girlie girl and loves having her hair done

pretty and have bows and barrettes in it.

Marbled Paper with Shaving Cream and a 15 month Old

Hello all!

Sara recently suggested we have a crafting time

with Marie to make some Easter decoration

and what fun we had!

We decided to do some paper marbling with

shaving cream and craft paints.

I spread some shaving cream on an old cookie sheet.

Then Marie picked her colors and I put some on top of the

shaving cream and swirled it around with a stick.

Next we laid a piece of card stock on top of the cream,

although Marie was more interested in lifting it up to get

to the shaving cream.

Then I lifted the paper off and scrapped off the shaving 

cream.  We did a couple with those colors then cleaned

up the cookie sheet and did some other colors.

Marie was really into the shaving cream.

She played with it and squished it in her hands.

Sara has learned to give her a pacifier when she is

painting etc. this way she doesn't stick it into her mouth.

Mushing it around with your hands is so much fun.

"What do you mean G-Ma, that you want to

make some pretty papers?  I like making pretty 

hands!"

I had printed out eggs on the card stock sheets

and cut them out once they were dry,

this is how they turned out.

And we made one bunny.

Looks like a Buffalo Bills Bunny to me!

These are some of the pages we got

that I will be using to make some cards

for Marie to send out for Easter.

After she played for a while in the shaving cream,

the colors got pretty mixed together and we ended up

with a very gray print.

I'll still use it to make something though.

I also have a bunch of left over scraps that

I can use.  We'll see what we can do with them.

All in all we had a lot of fun doing this project.

I did cut out some sponge shapes to stamp with,

but Marie was a little over stimulated to give that a try.

We'll do that another day.
I have plenty of crafty ideas for her.
