Love Bear

Hello!  Today I have a cute birthday card to show you.
I made this with 2 images from QKR Stampede.
"Love Bear" (#10604)
"Happy Birthday" (#22803)
I colored the "Love Bear" with FlexMarkers and added some Glossy Accents to the balloons.
I distressed the edges of the papers and put this card together pretty quickly.
This image can be used for a number of cards, birthday, get well, Valentine's day, just a simple hello.

Thanks for stopping by today, leave a comment if you would and come again soon.

And why not stop in to the QKR Stampede store and see what other versatile images they have to offer.

Purple Angel

Eureka! Stamps has so many beautiful angel stamps!
Today I'm showing you a card that I made with
"Sm. Ribbon Angel" (#21401)
I stamped the image onto white cardstock and colored her with FlexMarkers.
I used the Cuttlebug to cut the image, the mat and the card.
For the card base, I simply cut to panels of the same size,
scored the one for the back at about 1/2" and adhered them at the top.
The card opens at the scored fold at the top.
This is a very simple card to make and the image was fun to color.

If you are an angel lover, hop on over to see all the beautiful angel images they have at Eureka! Stamps.  And if angels aren't your thing, they have tons of other wonderful images too.

One color card

Hello blog friends!
I hope your weekend is going well.
Mine is so far, beautiful weather, not too hot, not too cool.
And tomorrow is supposed to be beautiful too.
I hope you are enjoying the beginning of summer!

Today I have a card that I made for a challenge on one of my favorite blogs,
Each month Enfys posts a challenge, now I'm not good about doing challenges, but I have participated in a couple of hers.
This month the challenge was to make a card using one color.
For my card I used 4 different stamps
"Heart Background" (#57901)
"Baroque Background" (#57701)
"Celtic Background" (#31601)
"Happy Birthday" (#36314)
I stamped all 3 background images onto
kraft cardstock with Versamark ink.
I used the Cuttlebug and Spellbinders dies to cut the outer 2 pieces.
I scored them with my Score Buddy and attached them to the inside panel that I had trimmed down with my paper trimmer.
Then adhered it to a piece of white cardstock.

I stamped the "Happy Birthday" sentiment onto separate pieces of cardstock and trimmed them into banner shapes and adhered them inside the card.
To close the card I punched 2 hearts from the left over pieces stamped with the Heart Background, glued them to white cardstock and fussy cut them. I used foam tape to adhere them to the card.  On the right side I first glued down the floss with Glossy Accents, before adding the heart over it.

I'm pleased with the way this card turned out.  I wasn't too sure about it when I started out with all the brown, but I think it turned out very cute.  I might just send it to my Aunt Marilyn for her birthday in September as her favorite color is brown.  I think she'll love it!

Thinking of You

Hello All!
Today I'm showing you a card I made recently to use as a sympathy card.
I find sympathy cards very hard to make and actually don't have a stamp that is specifically for that purpose.
I decided to use
"Baroque Background" (#57701) from Eureka! Stamps
and "thinking of you" from a CTMH set that my friend has.

I like the clean and simple look of this card with that little different element of the ribbon being tied on the side.
I left the inside blank and wrote my own thoughts.

Pocket card with Rose

Hello Crafters!
Today I have a pocket card to show you.
I like making different styles of cards and I love this pocket card.
It's simple to make.  I used a piece of cardstock cut to 4 1/4" x 11" scored at 5 1/2" I also scored it at about 3 1/2" and folded that area forward to for the flap where the sentiment is.  I did trim some of that flap off as I felt it was a bit too big for the card.
The stamps I used are
"Rose" (#17505)
"Life is Sweeter" (#9102)
Both from QKR Stampede
I used the "Rose" stamp in a couple ways.
First I stamped the entire image onto the lower corner of the card with VersaMark ink.

Then I used just some of the leaves to stamp the other lower corner
as well as the top of the pocket.
I made a card to slip inside the pocket.
I punched 2 circles, one slightly smaller than the other, layered them, folded them and adhered them to the top of the card.
I added a little embellishment from my stash.
You could easily add a flower or a brad like this, or punch a hole and add a bit of ribbon.

I hope this card shows you that stamps can be very versatile, you just need to use your imagination. Use part of the stamp, use all of the stamp, use different kinds of ink for different effects and have fun.

I'm so glad you stopped by today.

Something Humorous

Hello and Welcome!
I thought it would be fun to post something
that I hope will give you a little
 laugh.
I chose to use "Out For A Swim" (#13009) and
"You Can Lead" (#13005)
both from QKR Stampede.
I colored the image with FlexMarkers.
I cut the waves freehand and attached the 2nd layer with foam tape.

On the inside of the card I stamped the
"You Can Lead" sentiment and added a few waves.
I think this card is perfect for this summer,
with the Summer Olympics coming up.

At the end of June it is the end of the term for the
design teams at QKR Stampede,
I'm hoping to stay on for another term, but my friends
Kristine and Roxie will be stepping down.
I know they have something humorous on their blogs and I hope you will pop over and get a little chuckle from them.
I will miss working with these lovely and talented ladies,
but I'll be keeping up with their blogs and I hope you will too.

Thanks for stopping by, leave a comment if you wish and
come back again soon.

Fussy cutting edges.

Are you a Pinterest fan?
I am and I have found some wonderful cards there.
I seldom copy the card as is, rather I take an idea from a card and put my own twist on it.
That's how I came up with these cards.
I love the fussy cut edges and the one image done differently.
For this butterfly card I used
Small Lacy Butterfly (#58902)
For this rose card I used
Rose (#17505)

To stamp the edge, I first stamped onto scrap paper and cut out the image.
I used this as a mask.  I stamped one image at the bottom of the card, covered it with the mask, stamped another image overlapping the first, removed the mask and covered the image I had just stamped and continued this process up the edge of the card.
I then stamped one more of the image on white cardstock.

Now the cutting begins.  I fussy cut the edge of the card.
I then fussy cut the one stamped on white cardstock, the butterfly was colored first with FlexMarkers.
The cut out image is simply adhered over one of the images on the edge.

I stamped a very simple "ENJOY" onto the butterfly card, I believe this is a Close To My Heart stamp that I borrowed from a friend.
(Thanks Jen!)

The entire card front was then adhered to a white card base.

I'm thinking that I want to make another rose card and color the "different" rose.  What do you think?  Do you like the colored one or the plain one better?  If I do another one with a colored rose, I'll post it for y'all to see.

Why not stop over to QKR Stampede and Eureka! Stamps and see what images you may want to try this technique with.
It's fun and makes a beautiful card.

I colored it with  FlexMarkers and layered it onto kraft card stock.
I added some little sun glasses to the corner to finish it off.

Bouquet on wax paper embossed background

Hello!  Hope you are having a bright and sunny day!
Summer is my favorite season and it will be hear soon, actually as far as I'm concerned it's already started, but the official date is June 20th.
Spring and Summer both are such wonderful times for flowers and today I have a beautiful
"Bouquet" (#16220) from QKR Stampede
that I used on my card.
The image was stamped onto white cardstock and colored with FlexMarkers.
Once I colored and trimmed my image, I adhered it to a piece of cardstock that I used the "wax paper embossing technique" on.
You can learn more about this technique here.

I simply adhered it to a white base card and rounded the corners and it was done.
I love this flower image, it's one of my favorites from
QKR Stampede.  Why now pop into QKR and see the lovely flower image they have to offer.  I'm sure you'll find something you'll love too.

Thinking summer!

Hello and welcome to my blog!
has some lovely images that bring summer days to mind.
And what is more summery than flowers?

I have 2 cards to show you today.
This first card was made with
"Daffodils" (#83303)
I stamped it onto white cardstock and colored it with FlexMarkers
then layered it onto the card.
I know daffodils are more of a spring flower, so I also made this next card.

I used 3 stamps on this card.
First, I stamped the "Happy Birthday" (#36314) sentiment onto cardstock.
I then stamped it again onto a scrap, cut it out and used it as a mask as I
stamped "Babys Breath" (#35111) randomly onto the cardstock.
I used "Large Sunflower" (#35804)  and stamped it twice onto the brown patterned paper and twice onto white cardstock.
I fussy cut one white and both brown flowers, cutting off the smaller petals on one brown one.  I layered the flowers onto each other.  I cut the center of the 2nd white flower and colored it with a FlexMarker then adhered it to the center of the flower.
Once I added the Sunflower to the card and curled the petals up a bit,
 it was finished.

I hope you have gotten some inspiration from my cards today.

Design Team Call!!!

Copied and pasted from the QKR Stampede/Eureka! Stamps company blog.  Think about applying if you are interested in Design Team work.

I am looking for a TWO groups of stampers for my new Design Teams -- one group to work with Eureka Stamps (www.eurekastamps.com) and one group to work with QKR Stampede (www.qkrstampede.com).

Requirements include:

  1. The ability to produce 3-4 projects per month
  2. Good photography skills for taking pictures of your projects
  3. Projects posted with social media such as: your personal Facebook page, your personal blog, Pinterest, and at least one online gallery, etc. Along with projects posted on the company blog including writing your own posts.
  4. Participation in a monthly blog hop
  5. Ability to participate in a 6 month term starting July 1st through December 31st.
Design Team call is open to everyone (not just US residents). DT members will be sent DIGITAL stamps of their choice in order to fulfill monthly requirements. At the end of the term, members may request their digi-stamps to be replaced with RED RUBBER stamps.

I also need two ladies to lead each team. Unfortunately life right now has me too busy to do this myself (my mom and daughter seem to be alternating hospital stays). So, each lady must be a good leader and feel comfortable making decisions without me if needed.

If you’re interested in being a part of the team send an email with a link to your blog to maribeth@qkrstampede.com

Happy Father's Day Car

Masculine cards are, for me, one of the hardest to make.
But every now and then I make one and it comes together nicely.
Today I have a Father's Day card that I made with 2 stamps from
QKR Stampede."Old Car" (#20205) and "Happy Father's Day"
from the "Happy Birthday Set" (#22803)
I saw this different style somewhere and thought I'd see what I could do with it and this is what I made.
It was a quick card to make as the "Old Car" didn't need any coloring, I just stamped it onto cardstock with Color Box Fluid Chalk Ink in brown.
Same with the sentiment.
The dots are simply from the holes made with a hole punch.
Inside I simply layered the sentiment onto a piece of the same patterned paper.

Thanks for stopping by today.  I hope I've given you some inspiration, perhaps for a Father's Day card you need to make.
Why not pop into the QKR Stampede store and see what you might like to use for your Father's Day cards.

Christmas Angel

Merry Christmas ???
Yes I know it's June and Christmas isn't for several months, but it's always good to think ahead.
If you are someone who makes their Christmas cards, it's never too early to start.  Now that being said, it doesn't necessarily mean that I will keep working on mine.  LOL!  But I'm going to try to get at least some of them done early.
I was inspired to start some Christmas cards when I stamped this angel not realizing that it was a Christmas Angel until I had her stamped.

"Large Christmas Angel" (#7504) is from Eureka! Stamps.
I stamped her onto white cardstock and colored her with FlexMarkers.
I also added a bit of Distress Stickles to the trim of her coat.
This is a large image, so all it needs is a bit of layering of colored cardstock and it was done.
I do think she is rather pretty.

Thanks for stopping by. Leave a comment if you would and let me know if you are starting on your Christmas cards early this year.
Stop in to the Eureka! Stamps site and see what you find for some lovely and unique cards.

Until next time, Happy Crafting!
