My Other Pages

To make it easier to read about our trip to Ireland, I have made a page that is just for that. There is a tab above for Ireland Trip 2014 or click on the Home tab to read my other posts. I have also created a new page for My Weight Loss Journey if you are interested in that, click on the tab above.

Using What I Have

Hi crafty people!
Today I'm showing you a couple cards that I
made, using some of the things in my stash.
The background piece is a piece of card stock
from my stash of gelli prints.  I've had it a long time,
so have no idea exactly how I made it.  Probably just
craft paints on my gelli plate.
The leaves are some eco printing that I did, by placing
leaves onto card stock and running them through my
The shine sentiment is from a random set in my stash.
Once it was stamped onto a piece of the eco print card,
it was layered onto a piece of the gelli print card.
This purple and turquoise background piece was made with
Dylusion sprays that were sprayed onto a piece of photo paper.
The leaves were an eco print from my stash.
I decided to leave this with no sentiment on the outside
or the inside to make it a note card to be used for
whatever I need at the time.

I'm glad you stopped by today to see what I've been up to.
I hope you've been inspired in some way and
will come again soon.
You never know what you'll find on

Until then,

Hand Made Journals

Hello everyone!
I hope you're having a lovely day and
that you are happy and healthy.
Today I'm showing you a couple journals
that I made recently.
Mike Deakin is one of the artist/crafters
that I follow on YouTube and he posted
this video showing how to make these
journals.  As soon as I watched his video,
I knew I had to make some of these journals.
For this cover I used a piece that I had drawn
and colored with colored pencils.
I also learned how to draw these
stylized poppies from another of
This one I used some eco-print background
pieces that I recently made.
These prints were made using some leaves
from a Japanese Maple tree.
I put these eco-prints on both the front and
back of the journal.
One of the things I really love about these journals
is that they open flat, there is, of course, a crease in the
center of the page, but it opens nicely and lies flat.
Making a layout or painting or whatever across the
2 pages is no problem at all, it isn't interrupted by the binding.
The reason that they open so nice and flat is because
the binding is fabric.  I had some fabric in my stash that
was the right color and that's what I used.
I love the look of the fabric binding on my journals.

Thanks for stopping by today, if you are interested
in making a journal, I encourage you to watch the
video linked above, it's really pretty simple, you
can make then any size you want and
they turn out great.
I hope you've been inspired in some way today and
will be returning soon to see what
will be next for

Bird and Eco-prints

Hello blog friends!
Today I have a couple cards to share with you.
My friend Becky's birthday was coming up and
I wanted to make a card for her.  She loves birds, so
I pulled out my bird stencil to make a card.
I used some metallic paint from Art C to paint over
the stencil and was pleased with how it turned out.
I love the contrast against the black card stock.
I pulled out some of my eco prints that I had in my
stash and tore around a couple leaf prints.
I loved the way these worked with the nature feel of
the card.
This is the other card that I made.
The prints along the edges are more
eco-prints, they are left over pieces from
another project.  You'll see the project they
were left from in a upcoming post.
All in all, I'm pleased with how these cards turned
out.
Thanks for stopping by today, I hope you have enjoyed
your visit and were inspired in some way.
Come again soon,
you never know what you'll find on
Kristie Kreates!
