My Other Pages

To make it easier to read about our trip to Ireland, I have made a page that is just for that. There is a tab above for Ireland Trip 2014 or click on the Home tab to read my other posts. I have also created a new page for My Weight Loss Journey if you are interested in that, click on the tab above.

Smile and Congratulations

Hello and welcome!
Today I have a couple more 2 for 1 cards.
For these two cards I embossed some white card stock with
the Octogon Embossing Folder from Darice.
I then used Mustard Seed and Carved Pumpkin
Distress Inks to color the embossing with an ink
I cut the embossed piece into two pieces and used one for
this card.
I used this sentiment inside the card,
(sorry I can't find a direct link)
For this card I used the other half of the embossed piece
and a congratulations from my stash of stamps.
For both cards, I cut down some scrap pieces of coordinating
card stock and added little strips to finish off the card.
I'm happy with how these cards turned out.

Thanks for stopping today, I hope you have been
inspired in some way.
Come again soon.
Until then,
try something new.

2 for 1 Arrow Cards

Hello All!
Today I have a couple cards to show you.
These are what I call 2 for 1 cards.
I emboss a piece of card stock with
an embossing folder and cut
it and use the 2 pieces to make 2 different cards.
For these 2 cards I used the
Arrow Background folder from Darice
I then used
Distress Inks to blend the color onto the
embossed pieces.
I added a strip of coordinating card stock
along the edge of the embossed piece and
stamped the sentiments.
Now I have 2 cards, simple and easy to make,
ready for when I need them.

Thanks for stopping in today,
I hope you've been inspired in some way.
Come again soon, you never know what you'll fine on
Kristie Kreates!

Blended Stripes

Hello blog friends!
Welcome to my world!
Today I have a couple cards to show you,
more from my embossing frenzy.
For these cards I used the
Diagonal Stripes Embossing Folder
from Darice and embossed white card stock.
I then used a ink blending tool and a  combination of
Peacock Feathers, Salty Ocean and Blueprint Sketch
Distress Inks to add color.
I cut the embossed panel so I could make it into
a 2 for 1 set and adhered them to the white card bases.
I added strips of coordinating card stock along the edge to give
it a more finished look.
The believe, dream and inspire are from a stamp set I have
in my stash, but have no clue who they were made by.
The sentiment on this one is from the
Lovely stamp set from Cas-ual Fridays
I can't find a link for this though.
As I often do, I left the inside blank to
be able to add a sentiment of personal
message at a later date.

Thanks for stopping by today,
I appreciate you spending time with me.
I hope you will come again soon.
Until then:
Happy Crafting!

Embossed Star Card

Hello crafty people!
Today's card is another one I made during my
embossing folder craze that I went through one evening.
I embossed a piece of white card stock with
I then inked it with Mustard Seed and Carved Pumpkin Distress inks,
I cut the panel into 2 pieces and adhered to a white card base.
I stamped the words onto the card with
from Studio Calico.
The inside is left blank to write my own message.

Thanks for coming by today,
I hope you are having a very crafty day and
will come again soon
Until then:
Do what makes you happy!

Embossed cards

Hi Everyone!
Today I have a few cards to show you.
I made these cards using an embossing folder.
I inked the one side of the inside of an embossing folder,
put card stock into the folder and ran it through
my Cuttlebug.
By inking one side of the folder, when it is run
through the Cuttlebug, it presses the ink into the
embossed area, coloring it.
This image was inked and embossed with
creating a nice crisp image.
After doing the first image, I did a second
generation print for this card.
I ran the folder through the Cuttlebug
again with a piece of card stock,
but did not reink the folder,
giving a much softer look.
This card was done with the same
technique using an
second generation  printing.
The embossing folder I used was

Thanks for spending time with me today.
