woven background

Hello all!
Today I'm showing you a card that I made for my Mom.
I was going out of town for a couple weeks and wanted
her to know that I was thinking of her while
I was away.  I made this card and sent it
while I was visiting a friend in Ohio.
For a tutorial on how to make the woven background
hop over to
where you'll find a step by step tutorial.
.
I used "Flower Basket"(#24608)
I colored it with water color crayons,
fussy cut it and adhered it right to the
stamped background.
from Simon Says Stamp,
to make the banner and stamped
the sentiment with the coordinating
stamp set.
I used a little distress ink to give it a little color.
The inside was left blank and I wrote a note
to my Mom before sending the card.
I know she loved receiving this card
and I enjoyed making it.
Thanks for stopping by today
and be sure to pop over and check out
the tutorial on
Until next time, have fun crafting!

The links on this post are not necessarily the brand
I used or the site
 I bought my supplies from.
They are just a reference for you.
You may find supplies at better prices
than the ones in the links.
The stamps and dies, however are exclusive
to the companies they are linked to.

Mashed Potatoes tutorial project

Hi all!
Today is my day to post a crafty tutorial on
The tutorial I have posted was
how to create a background with a favorite stamp.
Pop on over to see the tutorial
on how I made the polka dotted card stock
that I used for these little dresses.
I love how these little dresses turned out.
They are actually a little gift,
in between the 2 'dress forms' is
a little box to put a lip balm or gloss in.

Here is a picture from the side showing it with
the top of the box open.
This is one of the little gifts I'm making for
my Mom to give her great grand daughters for Christmas.
I think these make an adorable little gift for a little girl.
Thanks for stopping by today.
I hope I've inspired you in some way and that
you'll come again soon.

Until next time, Happy Crafting!

Embossed background card

Hi all!
A few days ago, I posted a tutorial on
Showing how to make an embossed background.
Today I'm showing what I did with the background that I created.
I layered the snowflake background onto white card stock,
which then was added to the front of a white card base that had been
inked with Distress Ink to match the blue on the embossed piece.
I used "Christmas Blessings" (#7304) from
as my greeting.
I stamped it onto white card stock with
Versa Fine black ink and colored it with
water color crayons.
I trimmed it down and inked the edges with
Distress Ink and added it to the card
with foam tape.
This is just one way in which you can use an
embossed background.

Thanks for stopping by today,
I hope you will leave a comment and
come again soon.

Until next time, Happy Crafting!

Happy Anniversary & Tissue Tape

Last week, I posted my monthly crafts tutorial on
The tutorial shows how easy it is to make your own tissue tape.
If you haven't seen it, you should pop over and take a look.
Today I'm posting the 2 cards that I made with the tissue tape.

This first one I like much better than the other one.
There is such a big difference in the look of the tissue tape
on the white card stock rather than on the black.
The "Happy Anniversary" image (#9004) is from
and was embossed with white embossing powder.
Thanks for stopping by today.
Now pop on over and check out that tutorial and hopefully you'll make some of your own tissue tape.
Leave a comment if you will and come again soon.

Until next time, Happy Crafting!

Twisted Birthday card

 Happy Birthday!
Today is my birthday,
so I thought it would be appropriate to
show you a birthday card.
I made this with
"Happy Birthday" (#36314) from Biblical Impressions
and my favorite paper line of all times.
The paper is from TaDa Creative Studios
and unfortunately is no longer available.
Now if you want to know more about how I made this card
where you will find my monthly post which explains it with a picture tutorial.  It's really quite simple so go check it out!

Handy little pocket for a gift card,
or you could add a money gift, or a few pictures,
whatever strikes your fancy.

and find out how to make this cool card!
