My Other Pages

To make it easier to read about our trip to Ireland, I have made a page that is just for that. There is a tab above for Ireland Trip 2014 or click on the Home tab to read my other posts. I have also created a new page for My Weight Loss Journey if you are interested in that, click on the tab above.

Layouts, one happy, one sad

Sunday I went to My Happy Place for a "Potluck Crop". What a great time! There were 8 of us in all and we each brought something to contribute to dinner. Great food, great company and I even got some layouts done. And a good start on a project.

Here are the layouts that I did. One happy and one sad. The first one is the sad one.

This beautiful young man move on to a better place last December. His parents are crafters that Dave has known for years and when Barb called twice and left messages for Dave to call, I knew something was wrong. Eric had been diagnosed with Lymphoma and had been having chemo treatments. On his 18th day of chemo he had a very bad stroke and shortly after that he passed away. Such a wonderful kid, not quite 17 yrs old.
Barb is from our area and her family organized a memorial for him about a month ago, which Dave and I attended. It was beautifully done, but so heart wrenching. One thing that stays with me was what his Grandfather said at his funeral, "God could see what a wonderful giving person Eric was and He needed him in Heaven to help Him do His work"

Once the video about Eric was finished, Dave and I both had to send a text to Jaryd telling him how much we love him. I can't imagine losing my child. I did this layout above as a memorial to Eric.

This second layout is my 'happy' layout. These are pictures from our first dance as husband and wife. Yes, we've been married since 1988 and I'm just getting around to scrapping about it. Way far behind!!!

It is so fun to look at the pictures. When I looked a the finished layout I was commenting on the men in our wedding party "Wow, look at that Kim still has dark hair, not gray and Kevin still has red hair and Kenny still has hair!" Of course, I still have glasses, but they aren't covering half my face! OMG! our glasses were so huge! This layout makes me smile.

Thanks for stopping by, leave me a comment and let me know what you think.
Until next time, Happy Crafting!

That is what scrapping is all about, the happy as well as sad, huh? You did a very nice job on both LOs.
So sad whenever we lose loved ones, even more so when they are so young.
