Using the Cuttlebug

On my last post, my friend, Jen, commented that she would like to see some things where I used my Cuttlebug, so here are a couple cards that I made using the paper embossed with the Cuttlebug. Before I had my own Cuttlebug, I embossed a lot of paper on my friend Mary's Cuttlebug and have it in my stash. Since I did these a while ago, I don't know the names of the folders I used. Sorry!

This first card I used a blue cardstock that I embossed on Mary's Cuttlebug. I liked the look of the de-bossed side of the paper, the swirls reminded me of swirling wind and snow.

The sentiment and snowman are from "Snowy Jo" a Snag'em Stamp set by Imaginisce. I colored the hat, scarf and mittens with watercolor pencils and punched him out with an EK Success circle punch. I used a glue pen to "color in" the snowman then dipped him in glitter. "Winter Wishes" was punched out then trimmed to the half circle.

The snowflakes were punched with the Creative Memories snowflake punch, put through my Xyron and then dipped into glitter.

All the elements were adhered with foam tape to the blue cardstock, then it was adhered to the white cardstock with my ATG tape gun.

For this 2nd card I ran my Memento Summer Sky Dew Drop ink pad over the embossed snowflakes to give the flakes more demension. This is such an easy technique and give a wonderful tone on tone look. You could use a totally different color for a different look. Maybe I will post something with that look soon.
I love this little penguin, but I have no idea what company he is from, but he is adorable, isn't he?!?! I colored him with water color pencils then 'fussy cut' him. He is adhered with foam tape.
I just got some Jewelry Fundamentals Braiding Cord the other day at Tuesday Mornings. (Love that store!) I simply wound the cord around the embossed piece and adhered it with tape to the back.
Then sentiment, which is hard to see in this picture, "Peace Hope Joy" is a stamp from Denami Design. I love the little snow flakes around the words and thought they fit in great with that embossed cardstock. I used foam tape to pop this up so the cording could run under the sentiment.
It is all adhered to a white cardstock base. This card, as well as the one above, are standard size cards measuring 4 1/4" x 5 1/2".
Thanks for stopping by, leave me a comment and let me know what you think.
Until next time, Happy Crafting!
