Kelsie Through The Years

Hello blog friends!
Today I have a layout to show you.
I have been trying to "catch up" on some of the
pictures I have from when the kids were young and trying
to figure out what to do with the school pictures.
I decided for both of the kids to do a
"through the years"
layout.  This is the one I made of Kelsie.
I kept things pretty simple,
but added a little bit of bling and a few flowers.
These pictures are Nursery School through 4th grade.
My favorite picture is that one in the lower right corner.
Love her beautiful red hair.
These are high school pictures.
I wanted the flowers to be different, yet similar.
I stamped and colored them both,
then fussy cut them, but the one toward the top, I cut the center
of the flower out instead of the entire flower.
Just another way to stretch your stamps.

Thanks for stopping in today.
What have you done with all those school pictures from
through out the years?
Until next time,
Happy Crafting!

Easter Baskets

Hello internet friends!
I know this is kind of a late date to be posting an Easter
project, but here I am doing just that.
First of all, I didn't want my family to see these before they
received them and second, they are a cute little
basket that can be used for other occasions.
This basket makes a great little container to put little gifts
into, or make smaller ones and use them to fill with treats
as favors for a party.
Use your imagination, I'm sure you can come up
with any number of ways to use them.
Be sure to let me know what ideas you come up with.
Here's what I'm going to show you how to make today.
I made 10 of these baskets for people for Easter.
I started with a 12 x 12 piece of card stock.
I cut a 1" strip off one side.
On the 12" side I scored at 4" and 8"
On the 11" side I scored at 3 1/2" and 7 1/2"
Then I measured 2 1/4" from the corner and made a small pencil mark.
I did this on all sides of the paper.
I then cut the corners off.
Cutting from the pencil mark on the side to the one on the
top of the paper at all 4 corners.
Burnish all score lines.
Cut the score lines as shown.
These are cut along the 11" side.
Fold up the sides so they meet in the center.
Use the 1" strip for the handle by placing the end of it
between the 2 side pieces and the square inside piece of
the basket.
Poke a hole with a paper piercer or hole punch,
making sure the hole is through the handle too.
Put a brad through the hole to hold the basket together.
If you don't have brads you could use a staple.
Now you have your basket, ready to fill with goodies.
This is the one I made for my Mom.
She got some lovely smelling hand soap
as one of her goodies.
My daughter's had a lint roller, as she's always looking
for hers and I couldn't resist this for her.
My daughter's boyfriend got one too, with some
Sour Patch Kids in his.
My husband's had some Mitchum Deodorant in it,
I just happened to get a good deal and thought I may as well
stick that in to fill it up.
Notice his doesn't have a handle, this is because it was
actually the first one I made, before I thought about
cutting that 1" piece for the handle.
Everyone got some Rice Krispie Treats,
and eggs filled with small goodies,
like M&Ms and jelly beans.
As well as the all time favorite,
Peanut Butter Eggs.
These baskets were a big hit at my house
on Easter.
I hope you had a wonderful Easter too.
Did you make anything special for your
family or guests?

Thanks for stopping by today,
I hope you'll try these little baskets.
You can always pin this post for use next
Easter or for whatever occasion you
might need a cute little basket for.
If you have any questions,
feel free to e-mail me at the address
in the side bar to the right.

Until next time,

Kelsie and Jason, Holiday Party and Valentines Day

Hello!
Today I have more layouts in my
"Kelsie and Jason series"
Kelsie and Jason work for the same company,
but in different departments, so the holiday party
was all in one.
The thing is that the holiday party wasn't held until
just before Valentine's day.
Kelsie and Jason with some of their work friends.
Kelsie and Jason together.
They had a wonderful time.
This layout is about their Valentine's daycelebrations.
It was their first together and Jason went all out
to make it a special one for Kelsie.
He brought her a heart shaped pizza, then brought out
a big teddy bear with candy.  This guy keeps her company
when Jason isn't around.
Then he really surprised her with a beautiful bracelet.
I have to print a picture of it and add it to the layout.
Here is the beautiful bracelet that he gave her.
Then he surprised her again, he had made reservations
at the hotel where the work party was being held,
so they would be able to have a good time and not worry about
driving all the way home after the party.
Then to top it all off he sent her flowers at work
on Valentine's day and took her out to dinner on their
dinner break.
Does she have a great boyfriend or what?!?!

Thanks for stopping in today,
I hope you've enjoyed my layouts and
are in some way inspired by them.
Until next time,
Enjoy Life!

Kelsie 5th grade

Hi there!
Another school layout.
This time it's of Kelsie from 5th grade.
When she was in 5th grade they started doing
school pictures 2 time a year.
This picture was taken about half way through the
school year.
The one right below in the upper corner
was from the beginning of the year.
I can tell the difference because of the length of her
hair and the difference in her teeth
A lot can change in a few months at that age.
5th grade was probably her favorite year in school.
She had the most amazing teacher and class ever.
Mr. Judy was definitely a favorite in our family.
Jaryd had him 2 years later.
One of the BEST teachers EVER!
I still need to put the names of all the kids in the
picture in the empty space above the picture,
but I didn't want them all posted on the internet.

Thanks for stopping in to see what I've been up to.
What have you been creating lately?
See you next time!

Growing Up With Jaryd

Hi all!
I'm carrying on with layouts of my son Jaryd.
I had a lot of school pictures that I never scrapbooked.
The unfortunate thing is that they weren't all marked
with the year or grade. so I've put them in somewhat of an order
that I think is correct and did a couple double page
layouts with them.

These last 2 pictures actually did have the years on them,
so I know they were when he was in high school.
I'm sure there are some missing pictures and these stop in
the 2007-2008 school year, I know there must be
a couple more around somewhere.
This is what happens when you don't start scrapbooking
when your kids are born.
I'm so far behind that I'll never catch up.
He's now 24 and I'm just getting to these pictures.

Thanks for popping in today,
see you again soon.
Until then,
create something beautiful.

Jaryd Nursery School

Hello blog friends!
Today I have another layout for you.
This is of Jaryd in nursery school
I was there on picture day, so they let me have my picture
taken with him.
He was so excited to be able to do that.
This is his whole class. I wish I had all the names
of the kids in the picture.
Jaryd met his best friend, Brian, when they were
3 yrs old.
They are friends, like brothers, to this day.
I wanted to "highlight" Jaryd and Brian in the class picture.
Brian is my #2 son.
Our families have always been close.
I have a whole scrapbook that is just the 2 families
doing things together.
We don't see each other as much as we used to,
but we always know we are here for each other.
Isn't he just the cutest little guy ever?!?!

Thanks for stopping in today.
Keep coming back to see more of the layouts
I have done recently.
Until next time,
Happy Crafting!

What cute kids!

In March I was at a weekend crop with friends
and got some layouts done.
As usual, not as many as others, because I'm one
of the world's slowest scrappers, but I was also
one of the ones that organized the crop, so I had
other duties to take care of.
I love these 2 pages!
These are my kids, Kelsie and Jaryd
and these are a couple of my favorite pictures
that I took of them when they were younger.
We were on a vacation when I took this picture of Kelsie,
I love her beautiful red hair!
I fussy cut the flowers from some patterned card stock
that I love.  I thought the flowers were perfect for this layout.
This picture was taken of Jaryd at Glen Park,
which is near our home.
Was he the cutest little guy, or what.
It was difficult to decide on an embellishment for
his page, but I think the buttons worked well.
In real life the red ones show up much better.
Thanks for stopping by today,
I hope you will come again soon,
I'll be showing more of my layouts
that I've created recently.

Until next time,
create something memorable!
