Unicorn Minnie

Hi all!
The other day I posted a card for my
great nephew with Darth Vader on it.
Today I'm showing you the card I made for
his sister, Andrea, who is also our Godchild.
Andrea is crazy for unicorns, so I took a picture of
Minnie Mouse, drew it onto a piece of card stock
without her big bow and added a horn instead.
She is adhered with a Wobbler to give her
some movement.
The sentiment is from
I thought she turned out really cute and Andrea loved her card.
I think Andrea loved her envelope even more though.
I used a water colored background piece from my stash,
and lettered her name onto it, then adhered it to the
envelope.  She took the name piece off the envelope
gave it to her Mom and said she wanted to keep it.

Thanks for stopping by today,  I hope you are inspired in
some way.  Maybe you'll try doing a little something
on the next envelope you use.
Let me know in the comments if you ever do any
artwork on your envelopes.
Until next time,
think outside the box!

Darth Vadar

Hello friends!
Today I'd like to show you a card I  made
for my great nephew's birthday.
The family will be going to Disney in a couple months
so I wanted to do something Disney-ish
for him.
Anthony loves Star Wars so I found Darth Vader online,
copied it and added some Mickey ears.
I colored it black and fussy cut it.
I adhered it to the front of a card with a Wobbler
so that it wiggles.
I thought it needed a little something, so added
the little die cut wood stars.
The happy birthday sentiment is from
I also wanted to do something a little special on the envelope.
I took a water colored background from my stash
and lettered his name onto it,
then simply adhered it to the envelope front.

Thanks for popping in to see what I've been up to,
I hope this has inspired you to try something a little different.
If you don't have the stamp or image you need,
try altering one and/or make your own.
Until next time,
make something unique.

Sunday Brunch Sticky Buns

Do you like sweet rolls?
If you do, these will be right up your alley.
I used to make these when my kids were young,
but haven't made them for years.
When I was having brunch for friends, I thought of these
and couldn't NOT make them.
They are very simple to make.

Here's the easy peasy recipe:
1 pkg of frozen dinner roll dough
(these are just the raw frozen dough not the already baked rolls)
1 pkg instant vanilla pudding mix
1 cup brown sugar
2 tsp cinnamon
1 stick of butter
Pecan halves, enough to cover the bottom of the pan

I used a full bag of rolls and made 2 pans,
each pan had about 18 rolls in it.
Butter the bottom and sides of you pan,
(I used a cake pan, but would suggest a deeper pan,
like a bundt pan or a spring form pan.
As you can see in the top picture, the rolls ended up
rising and baking over the sides of the pan.)
Sprinkle the bottom of the pan with pecans,
I like a lot of nuts, so covered the bottom of the pan.
Put the dough balls, frozen, into the pan,
sprinkle the vanilla pudding mix over the rolls,
then sprinkle on the brown sugar and cinnamon.
Melt the stick of butter and pour evenly over the rolls,
Cover with a damp paper towel and place in a
COLD oven over night.
I put foil under mine, as I thought some might "leak" over the sides
when they were baking, I was right since the pans had fairly low sides.
When you get up in the morning take the paper towel off the top of
the rolls, turn on the oven to 350*
Bake for about 25-35 minutes at 350*.
Take out of oven and let sit for about 5 minutes,
then turn out onto plate.
These pull apart easily and don't stay around for long.
They are so, so good.
I hope you will give these a try, I know I'll be making them again.
See you again soon!

Filled Croissant

Hello Everyone!
If you're on facebook, you've probably seen some
of the videos with different recipes pop up.
I saw this idea and had to give it a try.
We have a group of friends from my husbands
high school days that we get together with fairly often.
One of them lives a few hours away and came to visit
for the weekend, so I had the group over for brunch on
Sunday.  I wanted to make something a little different,
so I decided to make these filled croissants.
This picture doesn't nearly do them justice,
I totally forgot to take pictures during the process or
before we ate.  These are all that was left.
Here's how you make them.
Cut out the middle of the croissants and hollow it out
so there is room in the center, like a little boat.
Put them into a 350* oven on a cookie sheet lined with
parchment paper for about 5 minutes
In a bowl mix together, eggs and whatever else you'd like
to fill them with.  I used Italian Sausage (cooked), green onion,
chopped sauteed mushrooms, cheddar cheese and a little bit of chives.
When the croissants are done baking for the 5 minutes, they will
be golden and a little crispy.
Fill them with the egg mixture and bake for about 25 minutes until
the egg is set and cooked through.
These are delicious!
I served them with bacon, fresh fruit and sticky buns.
I'll tell you about those sticky buns in another post.
Everyone loved the breakfast and there weren't many
leftovers.

I'm glad you stopped by today,
I hope you'll give these a try.
If you do, let me know what you put into them and
how you liked them.
Until next time,
Be creative in the kitchen!

HB2U

Hey crafty people!
Today's card is another birthday card.
For this card I used the Whole Shebang
stamp set from CAS-UAL Friday Stamps
for the outside and inside sentiments.
I also used a piece of pink vellum and ran it
through the Cuttlebug in an embossing folder.
The embossing folder is a very old one and I can't find
a link for it. Sorry!
Here is the sentiment on the inside of the card,
I love the sentiments in this stamp set.

Thanks for popping in today to see what I've been
up to.  I hope you'll be back again soon.

Until then,
Happy crafting!

Poppy

Hi blog friends!
It's been a while, I know.
Things got so busy around the holidays and then
I kind of lost my mojo.
I also was doing a lot of purging and reorganizing around my
house and just didn't get to the crafting.
Haven't worked on my crafting room yet,
that will take me ages to get done.
Now I've gotten back into the groove a bit and I have
a birthday card that I created to show you.
We have a lot of birthdays and anniversaries in February,
so I started on some cards.
I made this card with one of my favorite stamps
I stamped it onto white card stock and colored it with
colored pencils.
I trimmed it down and mounted it on a piece of
metallic bronze card stock then onto a card base that
I had in my stash.  Those little dots are metallic gold
and the combination looks great together.
Inside I simply stamped this
I'm not sure who will receive this card,
but hopefully they will love it as much as I do.

Thanks for stopping by today,
stop again soon.
Until then,
enjoy being creative.
