Easter Eggs

Happy Easter!
A little earlier some of my facebook friends were "discussing" coloring Easter eggs and I decided that I should make some.
The only food coloring I had was yellow so I decided to get some of my crafty stuff out and see what I could do.
Below you can see the results.
Some things worked and some didn't.
The things that worked the best were the VersaMark ink and Mica powder and the Ranger Alcohol Inks.
Now that I have these all done, I'm thinking they probably aren't the best things to use, being as they aren't food safe products.
So I wouldn't advise using these products for coloring eggs.
I'm figuring it's just on the outside of the shell, so I should be okay.

So all in all, I think that if I took some time I could really do something pretty cool with some crafting products.

Of course, I did make a mess of myself with the alcohol inks.  LOL!
Most of it came off with some Blending Solution.
Last year I stamped on my Easter eggs and colored the images.
Check them out in this post

Feathers

Hello crafty friends!
Today I have a card to show you using
"Feather on Side" (#6303) and
"Thinking of you" (#7706)

Feather on Side was stamped randomly
onto white card stock and colored with water color crayons.
Honestly, I don't know if there are feathers in these colors,
but I sure had fun coloring them.
I used a rubber stamp, but this is also available as a digital stamp.
The Thinking of you is a digital stamp, it is also available as a rubber stamp.
Personally, I like to work with the rubber stamps, but the digis are so convenient, since they can be re-sized to whatever size you need.
So, take your pick.  Eureka! Stamps has wonderful images available in both.

Eureka! Stamps Challenge #32

Hello there stampers!
It's time for another Eureka! Stamps Challenge today.
For all the particulars, pop on over to the
I hope you'll join in the fun.
Our theme this week is
"It's In The Words"
I used 2 Eureka! Stamps images for my card.
My "words" are
"Not a Day" (#19401)
The background image is
"Fern Background" (#58401)
The Fern Background was stamped with a rubber stamp and Versa Fine ink.
The sentiment is a digital stamp, printed from my computer.
This was a very simple card to make, but I think it turned out quite nicely.
Thanks for stopping by today, I hope you have been inspired in some way and that you will play along with our challenge.

Until next time, Happy Crafting!

Just a note...

I remember when I was little how I loved lacy paper doilies!
Especially at Valentine's Day! I remember my Mom making a Valentine's Box for my classroom at school and there were doilies on it.
Once I helped my Aunt Zel get ready for a shower and we put a doily over the top of a cake and sprinkled powdered sugar over it, then when we remove the doily, there was a beautiful lace pattern on the cake.
The doily I used for this card isn't lacy, but it brought back lots of memories when I saw them in the store.
I bought a package on clearance, very cheap!
This is actually a Christmas doily, but I just thought it was a beautiful pattern that could be used any time of year.

I used some ATG tape to adhere it to a brown card base, then trimmed around the edges.
The "Just a note..." (#6405) is from
I embossed it with white embossing powder then cut to size.
The dash marks around the sentiment banner and doily were done with a white gel pen.

This is a pretty basic card that anyone could replicate.
How pretty would this be with a lacy white doily on a bright colored card base?!?!
Why not try it out and let me know how it goes?

Eureka! Stamps Challenge

"What's in Your Easter Basket?"
With Easter just around the corner
this is a perfect theme for this weeks
Eureka! Stamps Challenge.
You can find all the rules and such on the
I used this adorable image from
"Lg Chicks in Egg" (#3406)
I used the unmounted red rubber stamp,
this image also comes in digital format and
also in a smaller version in rubber stamp.
I really enjoyed coloring this image with my water color crayons.
It reminded me off all the years I colored eggs as a child
and then with my own children.

There are many Easter images to choose from in the
Whether you want a religious image that conveys the meaning of Easter or a cute one, you will find it there, so pop over and take a look.

I hope you will join us in this weeks challenge.
And I hope my card has inspired you in some way.

Happy Anniversary & Tissue Tape

Last week, I posted my monthly crafts tutorial on
The tutorial shows how easy it is to make your own tissue tape.
If you haven't seen it, you should pop over and take a look.
Today I'm posting the 2 cards that I made with the tissue tape.

This first one I like much better than the other one.
There is such a big difference in the look of the tissue tape
on the white card stock rather than on the black.
The "Happy Anniversary" image (#9004) is from
and was embossed with white embossing powder.
Thanks for stopping by today.
Now pop on over and check out that tutorial and hopefully you'll make some of your own tissue tape.
Leave a comment if you will and come again soon.

Spring Has Sprung

Time for another Eureka! Stamps challenge.
For all the particulars go to the Eureka! Stamps Blog
The theme this week is "Spring Has Sprung"
using spring images and colors.
For me, nothing says spring more than flowers!
I used
"Lg Cross with Flowers" (#13403) from
When I stamped this image, I masked off the 'cross' part of the image as I only wanted to use the flowers for this card.
I colored it with water color crayons, fussy cut the image and adhered it to yellow card stock.
I used a scoring board to emboss the lines along the sides of the card and sanded them with a sanding block.
I also made a card using
"Mixed Bouquet" (#9206)
I also colored this one with water color crayons.
I embossed around the image and also on the card base using a scoring board.
The image panel is adhered with foam tape.
Thank you for stopping by today.
I hope you will play along with the
Eureka! Stamps Challenge.
Stop in to the Eureka! Stamps store and see what wonderful images you find there.

Until next time, Happy Crafting!

Happy Mistake

Earlier this week, I posted my card for the
using "Small Lacy Butterfly" (58902) from
When I was working on that card, I colored this same image with
water color crayons.  I liked the way it turned out, but when I went to put it onto the card, I didn't like the combination of colors with the papers I had used on the card base.
So I colored another image and used that.
You know my motto,
"There are no mistakes, just chances to be more creative"
So I made this little note card.
I used my Score Buddy to emboss the lines on the card base and the yellow panel.
I adhered the butterfly body with some glue and curled the wings out a bit.
The 'trail' was drawn with a Zig pen.
So this "mistake" didn't turn out to be a mistake after all!

Thanks for stopping by today!
Feel free to leave a comment and come again soon.

Eureka! Stamps challenge

Hi crafty fans!
It's time for another Eureka! Stamps challenge.
For all the particulars go to the Eureka! Stamps Blog.
This weeks challenge is to use
2 images (one can be a sentiment)
2 designer papers and
2 embellishments.
For my 2 images I used
"Sm Lacy Butterfly" (#58902) and
"Happiness Like a Butterfly" (#40403)
I colored the butterfly with FlexMarkers then fussy cut it.
I used glue to adhere only the body of the butterfly to the card front.
I bent the wings of the butterfly out from the card giving dimension.

I hate to say it, but I have no idea which company made these 2 papers,
I got both of them from my scraps folder.
For my 2 embellishments I used a button and embroidery floss.
I used the  2nd image as the sentiment on the inside of the card.

Thanks for stopping in today.
I hope you got some inspiration and will join the
Eureka! Stamps Challenge.

Until next time, Happy Crafting!
