Tags - Flowers

Welcome to Kristie Kreates!
Here are a couple more tags that I made
for my tag swap.
These were very simple to make.
I stamped a 2 layer image of the flowers
 onto white card stock,
with Distress Inks and fussy cut them.
As you can see, one of them I stamped polka dots,
I used a background stamp for this.
One of the flowers is adhered directly to the tag,
the other is adhered with foam tape to give a little
dimension to the tag.
Last I stamped the sentiment.
2 quick and easy tags, ready for use.

Thanks for stopping in today,
I hope you have been inspired in some way.
See you again soon!

Party Decorations

Hi!
Have you ever thrown a surprise party?
My hubby turned 60 in February and I
decided that I should have a party for him.
The kids helped me so much with all the prep,
it's hard to do the prep when you live in the
same house with the person you are
having the party for.
My daughter in law, Sara and I
got together several times to make decorations
and plans.
Here are some of the decorations we made,
she with her Cricut and me with my Silhouette Cameo.
I printed pictures to put up around the party space.
This is of Dave at Cliffs of Moher, Ireland.
Here are a couple of young Dave, in Elementary or Middle
School on the right and his senior picture on the left.
Our wedding picture.
A recent selfie that he took.
Us together for a portrait,
probably around 1986 or 87.
With his Mom at our wedding.
One of his famous Halloween costumes.
Me with Sara and our Happy Birthday banner.
Cheers to 60 Years
Our #2 son, Jaryd's best friend Brian, turned the
6 upside down during the party so it said
90 years. Such a joker!
Thanks for the laugh #2
Sara made some really nice cards to label the food.
Sorry you can't really see them, they were so cute!

I'm glad you came today so I could share the fun
we had making and throwing the surprise party for
Dave.  He was totally surprised and we had a great time
with about 30 family and friends.
Come again soon,
you never know what you'll find at
Kristie Kreates.

Tags - Foliage

Hello blog friends.
Today I have another tag post for you.

These were made with an alcohol inked background.
I used "Further Around The Edge" stamp set from
Dyan Reaveley to stamp the vine design
and heat embossed it with gold embossing powder.

For these 2 tags I used alcohol inks on silver card stock,
then stamped them with a variety of leaf stamps using
Alcohol Lift Ink.
The Alcohol Lift Ink does just what it say, it lifts the ink
off the card stock, leaving the design of the stamp.
Once it is lifted, you can take that stamp and stamp
the "lifted ink" onto another surface.
I would encourage you to watch some videos on this
product and technique and give it a try,
it's fun and gives a great look to projects.

Thanks for stopping in, come again soon.
Until then,
try something new.

Kelsie's Card

Hi all!
Our family has a lot of birthdays and anniversaries
in February.  One of those is our daughter's birthday.
Kelsie loves purple, so I took a dive into my
background stash and found this piece that I made
vellum.  It's hard to get a picture of how really
beautiful this piece is, but I love it.
When the ink was still a little tacky in spots
I applied some pink metallic Deco-foil
Adhesives show through vellum, so I covered the
entire back of it with wide score tape and adhered it to
a white card base. Covering the entire piece
gives it a uniform look and you can't see the adhesive.
I cut the Happy Birthday from some glitter card stock
and also cut 3 or 4 from plain white card stock.
I then layered them to give the sentiment some dimension.
You can see the shiny pink Deco-foil a little better
in this picture.
On the inside of the card, I wrote a personal note
to Kelsie.

Thanks for coming by today,
I hope you'll stop again soon.
Until then,
make someone smile.

Tags - Plaid

 Hi!
Today is tag series day.
I really enjoyed making these tags.
I have a stamp set that I got used, I don't even remember
where or when.  It has different styles of stripes, so I decided
to try my hand at making some plaids and these are what
I came up with.

I used different combinations of the stripes and
colors to create different looks
and I love how they turned out.
I wanted to make some tags that were a little more
masculine and I think these fit the bill.
I used Distress Inks and my
MISTI Stamping tool as each of
those stripes is stamped separately.
They didn't really take long with the
help of the MISTI.
These were all stamped on manila tags
and I use a bit of jute twine for the tie.

Thanks for stopping by today to
see what I'm up to,
I hope you'll stop by again soon.
Until then stretch yourself and
think outside the box.

Daisy Card

Hello blog fans!
Recently I saw this video on Jennifer McGuire's
blog and had to give this technique a try.
Mine didn't turn out nearly as beautiful as hers did,
but it was my first try and think it turned out nice.

The idea is to stamp, color and cut up a piece and
add it to the front of a card.  There are several ways
she shows in her video that I linked to above
and they all are beautiful.
I just wanted to try the simplest one,
so I cut my stamped piece and added
the pieces to a card base with foam tape.
I used the Daisy Thanks stamp set from
Stampendous.
For the sentiment I used
Simon Says Stamp Tiny Words

I'm glad you stopped by today and I hope
you'll go check out Jennifer's video on this technique
and give it a try.
Until next time,
Happy Stamping!

Tags, Leaves

Hello, I hope you're having a lovely day.
Today is tag day and I have 2 similar,
but different tags to show you.

I used a polka dot background stamp
and Distress ink on white card stock,
then cut them to size.
The leaves were then stamped with
the same ink, but double stamped to
give a darker image.
Last the sentiment was stamped
with VersaFine Onyx Black ink,
which gives a nice crisp image.

This tag was done with the same technique,
I stamped the leaves, then used the same ink to
stamp the veins of the leaves.
I used a little dot cluster stamp to create the bunch of
berries in the center, I think this gives the tag
a nice little pop.

I'm glad you stopped in to spend a little time
with me today, I hope you are too.
I hope you'll come again soon.
Until next time,
happy crafting!

Abstract Card

Hello!
Something a little different today.
This is a birthday card that I made for my hubby.
I was looking through my stash of backgrounds for
something to use on his card and came across this piece.
I loved it so much that I couldn't stand to cut it into
pieces, so I used the whole thing.
I made it using alcohol inks on a glossy card stock
along with some blending solution.
When the ink was mostly dry, I applied some gold
Deco-foil, which stuck to the areas that were still a little
wet and a little bit sticky.

I simply adhered the piece to a white card base,
wrote a message inside and called it done.

Here you can see some of the shiny gold areas where
the Deco-foil stuck.  It's really quite beautiful.

I chose to use the piece for a horizontal
card, but it could be used as a vertical also.
My hubby loved it and I told him I understand
that he doesn't know what to do with the cards
I make for him and I'll take this one off his hands
to hang in my craft room.
I may just have him frame it for me.

Thanks for popping in today.
I hope you'll come again soon and
that you have been inspired in some way today.
Until next time,
give something different a try!
