My Other Pages

To make it easier to read about our trip to Ireland, I have made a page that is just for that. There is a tab above for Ireland Trip 2014 or click on the Home tab to read my other posts. I have also created a new page for My Weight Loss Journey if you are interested in that, click on the tab above.

Bridal Shower Layouts

Hello my crafty friends!
It's been a while since I have done much
scrapbooking.  I had a lot of other projects going
and just couldn't seem to get back to the scrapping.
But I have now and I've been working on
Kelsie and Brad's wedding scrapbooks.
Yes, I know, they have been married for almost
2 yrs now, but they will get done, sooner or later.
It took me about 2 yrs to get Jaryd and Sara's done too.
But I'm well on the way now.
I needed some way to put the shower cards into the
scrapbook, this is what I came up with.
I made 2 pockets on each page to put the cards into.
I'm very happy with how this layout turned out.
Here is how it looks with all the cards and inserts that
came with the gifts that arrived from Amazon.
This layout is of Kelsie getting ready for the shower.
Isn't she beautiful?
And one layout from the shower.
Kelsie and her bridal party with Brad.
I'll be posting more layouts in the future, but not all of them.
There are just too many to post them all.
Jaryd and Sara's ended up being 6 books and
I'm thinking Kelsie and Brad's will be just a many.

Thanks for stopping by today.
I hope you were inspired in some way.
Come again soon,
until then,
Get your scrap on!

Meet Iggy (aka Chichi) and Sally

Hi everyone!
Today I have a couple gifts I made for my grandchildren.
Let me introduce you to Iggy and Sally.
This is Iggy the Iguana.  I'm told that he was promptly
renamed Chichi by Asher, but I don't know if that name stuck.
I usually make these amigurumi critters with worsted
weight yarn, but decided to use
Bernat blanket yarn that I had in my stash.
This yarn is very soft, but since it is a thicker yarn,
the animals come out considerably larger.
I'm guessing Iggy is about 18" long.
This is Sally the shark.
I made her for Marie and I think she may have
kept her name.
Sally is also about 18" long.
Here is a picture of Marie with Sally.
This book was a gift from Jaryd and Sara, so I could
make stuffies for the kids and I love making them.
I think I've made about half the animals so far.

Thanks for stopping by today.
I hope you have enjoyed your time here and got inspired
in some way.
Come again soon,
you never know what you'll see on
Kristie Kreates.

I didn't necessarily purchase from these sites,
except where specified,

Anniversary and Birthday Cards

Hi everyone!
I hope you're having a beautiful day.
As I write this we are having a warm, but
rainy day here in Western NY.
Hopefully, these cards might brighten your day.
This is an Anniversary card I made for my hubby.
I got the die from Temu and just love it.
The yellow background was embossed with a
folder from my stash with little hearts on it.
It was a fun card to make and inside I wrote a
personal message.
This card I used the same die and made a card for my
daughter, Kelsie, for her birthday.
Inside, I stamped a birthday sentiment and
wrote a personal message.
I totally loved making both these cards and will
be using that die for more.
Thanks for stopping by today,
I hope you'll come again soon.
Until then,
have fun being creative.

Be Magical Unicorn Card

Hello craft lovers!
Doesn't everyone love to receive mail?
My granddaughter, Marie, sure does.
That's why I decided to make her this card.
She loves unicorns, so when I found this stamp in my
stash, I decided to make a card with it.
Pink is her favorite color, so it had to be pink.
For the inside of the card, I stamped, colored and fussy
cut some other designs.  She does love rainbows too, so that
was another must.
I stamped and cut a few things for her to color herself.
Sending cards in the mail now and then is one simple
way to say I love you.

Thanks for stopping by today to see what I've been creating.
I hope you have been inspired in some way and will come again soon.
Until then,
send a card and make someone smile.

Art Swap Post Card and Card

Good day and welcome!
I've mentioned my art swap group before
and today I'm going to show you my latest
project for the swap.
We were to make a masterboard then
from that we were to make a post card for the
person we were given.
I made more than one masterboard.
This one I used paints and a few different objects
to make marks (bottle caps, and a fork for instance)
I like how it turned out.
I made this masterboard using the washi tape in my stash.
I just started layering it onto the page and filled the entire
page.
This is the post card I made with the painted
masterboard that I made.
I enjoyed making it and still have plenty of the
original board left for other projects.
I was a little hesitant to mail out the post card, so
I made a card with the other masterboard and put the
post card inside.
This was a fun challenge and the person I sent
these too was happy to receive them.

Thanks for stopping in today.
I hope you have been inspired in some way.
Please, do come again,
until then,
stretch yourself and try something new.

Easter with the Maynard Family

Hello and welcome back!
I'm finally recovered from the bronchitis.
I don't have a lot to post, because I was feeling
so bad, I didn't even do any crafting.
We did have a wonderful Easter and had our
Annual Maynard Family Egg Coloring Contest.
Here are a few pictures of my grandkids and also the
egg contest results.
Marie and Asher all dressed up in their Easter outfits.
Marie got a Jessie dress from the bunny.
Asher got a Woody shirt from the bunny.
Here's Marie with all their Easter eggs.
This year there were only 4 of us that participated
in the egg coloring contest.
Things have been crazy around here.
Kelsie and Sara have been very busy with their business
Clumsy Cloud Gifts (dot com)
Below are the 4 entries.  I posted them on facebook and
people casted their votes.
Sara's "Duo Color Explosion"
4th place
Jaryd's "Pink and Purple Splendor"
3rd place
Marie's "Pretty in Pink and More"
2nd place
Your's truly "Marbled Neutrals"
1st place.
I used onion skins to color my eggs this year.
Onion skins were chopped up,
the eggs were run under water so the skins would
stick to them.
They were then wrapped in pieces of
knee high stockings and tied closed.
They were place into a pot with water, salt, vinegar
and a little bit of blue food coloring.
Boiled to become hard boiled eggs.
Once they were removed and onion skins were
rinsed off they turned out marbled.
I only had brown onion skins,
but next time I'd like to try multi colored
skins and include some white and red onion
skins.
They were easy to color this way and turned out
great.
Did you color eggs for Easter this year?
Here are winners from past years from our contest.
2023 Marie (age 3 yrs old)
2022 Kelsie
2021 Brad
You can see we didn't have the time to
decorate like we usually do,
but it was fun anyway.
And now I have bragging rights until next Easter.

Thanks for stopping in today to see what I've
been up to.
I hope you'll come again soon.
Until then,
enjoy spring!
