25th anniversary box

My hubby, Dave, and I just celebrated our 25th wedding anniversary!
I can't believe it's been 25 yrs.
I wanted to make a little something for him that I could put his gift into,
so I made this little box.
I used black card stock to make the box.
The silver on the sides was done with some tape
I got at a local hardware store.
(Perfect for a Silver Anniversary!)
I don't know what it's called, but I believe it is used on ducts.
I just asked the guy for foil tape and explained that it was very thin and used on ducts (or possible pipes) and he lead me right to it.

When the backing is peeled off the tape, it is quite thin,
so I put it onto some card stock.

I then ran it through the Cuttlebug in an embossing folder.
I have, in the past, tried to emboss the tape
before removing the backing, but that just didn't work.
Removing the backing isn't difficult after it is embossed,
but not wrinkling the tape is near impossible.
Then when I tried to adhere it to my project,
much of the embossing got 'flattened' in the process,
the tape is just not sturdy enough to hold the embossing,
so I came up with the idea of putting it onto card stock.

Once it was embossed, I could cut it to size
and used ATG tape to adhere it to the little box.
The box was the perfect size for hubby's gift.

Thanks for stopping by today.
I hope you have enjoyed my little tutorial and will try it out.
Alcohol inks work great on this foil tape too.
Just apply with a ink blending tool and a felt pad.
Have fun and let me know if you try it out!

Until next time, Happy Crafting!
