Flowers and Hearts

Hello crafters!
Today I have some cards and book marks to show you.
I recently saw a video, I'm sorry I don't know whose
it was, and she made flowers with hearts.
I took the idea and went with it and here's what I
came up with.
I used scrap pieces of backgrounds that I made with
alcohol inks.
Some hearts I punched, but most of the large ones
I cut freehand.

Thanks for coming by today.
I hope y'all are doing well and keeping
yourselves busy during this health crisis.
Maybe you can use up some of your scraps
to make some cards or book marks like these.
You can use any kind of paper and they
will turn out cute.
Until next time,
stay safe, stay healthy and stay busy.

Doodling

Hello!
I hope you are all staying safe and healthy.
We are staying home and our daughter is working
from home now.
I know this is a tough time for everyone and I
hope coming to visit my blog is helping
to keep you from boredom and maybe gives you
some inspiration.
Recently I've started to do some doodling and today
I'm showing you a little bit of what I've been doing.
I have a lot of backgrounds in my stash and decided to
do a bit of doodling on some of them.
This background was one I made with some
white alcohol ink along with some colored ones
on black card stock.  I'm not crazy about this
doodle, but remember I'm just learning and messing
around with it.
Alcohol inks on card stock.
Also alcohol inks on card stock,
I thought this looked like a hippo, so
I outlined it.
This is watercolors on watercolor paper.
I know these aren't fabulous pieces of art, but the
point is that I'm having fun with it and I'm hoping
that with time I'll get better at it.
There are lots of videos on YouTube showing
how to do doodling.
It's a fun and easy way to relax, give it a try.

Thanks for stopping by, hope you'll
come back again soon.
Until then, stay safe and stay healthy!

Playing With Watercolors

Hello crafty people!
I have always loved watercolors and recently decided
that I was going to play with watercolors more.
Here are a couple pieces that I did recently.
This isn't the best painting ever, but I like how it turned
out.  I think for someone that doesn't have a lot
of experience with painting, it isn't too bad at all.
One thing I've read and seen in a lot of videos
is to practice, practice practice.
That's what I was doing with this piece.
Doing the same thing over and over certainly
helps you become more comfortable with the
brushes and paints and how they work for you.
I just started painting these leaves and continued
until I covered the paper.
They may not be the best paintings ever, but they are
getting me used to the supplies and you know what
they say, practice makes perfect.
I'm not ever expecting to be perfect, but
better will be good.

Thanks for coming and spending a little time with me.
Wishing you a happy and healthy day.

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Happy St. Patrick's Day!
Here is my sweet little leprechaun.
I had quite the time making this little hat.
The first one I made when she was first born
was way too small, the second one was way
too big and this one I finally got right.
Is she just too cute or what?!?!
Well, at least we have a bigger hat that will
fit her another year.  But for now, she is
just the cutest little leprechaun you've ever seen?

Thanks for stopping by, hope you have a
wonderful St. Patrick's Day!

Challenge Swap - Floral

Hello!
I hope y'all are doing well and keeping healthy
during this trying time.
Our most recent Challenge Swap in my
online crafting group was "floral"
Today I'm showing you what I sent to my friend,
Lisa, for this swap.
I happened to see THIS TUTORIAL from
Almut Olsson
on YouTube and knew right away this is what I
wanted to make. This "wallet" was made from a
brown paper lunch bag.
It's a cute little wallet that can be used for
any number of things.
The paper I used to cover the wallet is mulberry paper
that I colored with alcohol ink and shaving cream.
When opened, there are 2 little pockets.
I stamped some small floral images as well as
fussy cutting others and included them in the wallet.
I also stamped some of my favorite floral images for her.
I colored some of them and left others uncolored.
The lower right flower was stamped onto white card
stock as well as onto the same paper as I used to cover the
wallet, then fussy cut it and adhered it to the card stock image.
I think it's always nice to have some different images
to work with.  Lisa loved her swap gift.
Now on to our next one and that theme is
Friendship.

Thanks for stopping by today to see what I'm up to.
I hope you are inspired in some way.
Until next time
Happy Crafting!

Using Embossing Folder with Ink

Hi All!
Welcome to my blog.
Today I have a card to show you that I absolutely
love.
I used an embossing folder, sorry I can't give you the name
of it, as I don't have the packaging for it.
I inked the inside of the folder with
then ran it through the Cuttlebug.
This embossed it and left the ink
 around the embossed areas.
I cut the birds with a set of dies that I have,
added that one to the card and made an envelope
for the card and used the others on that.
I used a silver mat, then adhered the panel to a
white card base.
I love how this card turned out.
Very clean and simple.

Thanks for stopping by today.
I hope you'll try inking up your embossing
folders and see what kind of impression you get.
Just remember to clean them after inking them,
so you don't ruin the next piece you emboss.
