Embossing 2 times.

Hello crafty friends.
Today I have a card I made with
"Lg Filagree Heart" (#24601) from
I used the stamp in 2 ways.
I first stamped it onto the purple card stock and heat embossed it with white embossing powder.
I then used the same technique on a piece of scrap patterned paper.
I made a template and cut out 3 hearts from that piece.
These were adhered with foam tape.
I used white crochet cotton for the strings.

Thanks for stopping by today, I hope you've been inspired in some way and maybe will try something a little different with your stamps.

Great Outdoors

The Great Outdoors!
This is the theme of the
Eureka! Stamps Challenge
this week. Be sure to check out the particulars on the
I decided to use 2 images from
"Lg Tree" (#15302) and
"Leaf Background" (#26901)
I used VersaFine ink for the background image.
I stamped it onto white card stock,
then stamped it again on another piece of card stock.
The second stamping is what I used on these cards.
I wanted it to be a little more subtle.
I then cut a circle from a piece of very light weight paper.
I laid the paper over the background image
and inked the circle with Distress ink.
Then I stamped the tree image onto the circle.
This panel was then adhered to a card base
that had been inked with the same
Distress ink colors as the circle.

This second card I used the same technique,
but once I had inked the green circle,
I took away the mask and replace it
with the circle that had been cut out
and inked around the circle with yellow Distress ink.
I wanted to give a kind of bright yellow sunny feel to the background.
My daughter likes the second card better,
but I kind of like the first one.
What do you think?
Leave a comment and let me know.
I hope you have been inspired in some way.
Maybe to try a new technique,
try some inking
or just to participate in the challenge.

Box for Cindy

Hi all!
My husband just got some mixed nuts delivered.
Not a couple cans, but a 15 lb. box!
Yes, that is a lot of nuts, but I gotta say, they are amazing!
He told his sister that he would give her some,
so he asked me to make up something to put them in
to give them to her.
I came up with this box.
It didn't take me long and I think it came out very nice.
I even gave him a tall cello bag to put the nut into.

Thanks for stopping by today.
I think my sister in law will like it,
what do you think?
Leave me a comment and let me know.

Embossed Heart on vellum

Hi blog friends!
Today I'm sharing a card that I made as an experiment.
I had never done any heat embossing on velum and decided to give it a try.
I found this piece of silver-gray heavy weight velum in my scraps.
Don't know where it came from, but there it was.
I stamped
"Lg Knot Heart" (#58801) from
with Versa Mark ink and embossed it with white embossing powder
This image measures 4"x4" so is quite large.
It also comes in a smaller 2" x 2" size.

All White Challenge

Today we have another Eureka! Stamps Challenge.
This weeks theme is
"All White or No Designer Papers"
I love white on white cards,
but find them very tough to do, so I seldom do them.
But this time it came together very nicely.
I used "Filigree Background" (#39201) from
I stamped the background on white card stock
with Versa Mark ink and
embossed it with white embossing powder.
I wrapped some lovely May Arts ribbon around the panel.
The paper flowers are hand made for this card
and I put little pearls in the centers.
The entire panel was then adhered to a white card base with foam tape.

I know this is an odd angle,
but I wanted to show the embossed background image.
It's tough to really show the detail with the
white on white embossing.
I hope you can see how really lovely this background is.
I hope you have been inspired in some way
and will participate in our challenge on the
where you will find all the details about the challenge.

Progressive Layout

Every do a progressive layout?
Well, I hadn't either,
but I have a group of online scrapping friends
and one of the gals suggested we try doing one.
Well, thank you Sunni!!!!
I really enjoyed making it.
Each day Sunni would post something
we had to do to or add to our layout.
It was intended to be a one page layout,
but I'm a little OCD about my layouts
being double pages, so that's how I made it.
Here is my finished layout.
Click on it and you can see it larger.
Not too much out of my comfort zone,
but we did do some distressing
and that is something I usually don't do.
I love how it turned out.

Poppy Card

Hi crafty friends!
When I visit my friend, Mary, in Toledo
if it's a Tuesday we go to "stamp demo" in the evening at
The Pampered Stamper.
When I visited in April, I got a real treat.
Stacy Rich from Stacy Stamps was there.
What a talent!
She brought along lots of stamps for a trunk sale
 and when I saw
I couldn't resist it.
Ever since my hubby and I went to Italy in 2004,
I have been totally in love with poppies.
This was the first chance I had to work with this stamp
and here is the card I made with the Poppy image.
I stamped it with Memento Tuxedo Black ink
and colored it with FlexMarkers then fussy cut it.
The sentiment is from a set that I have no idea where it came from,
it is embossed with white embossing powder.

Thanks for stopping by today.
Leave a comment if you will and go check out
I think you'll be impressed.
They are wonderful quality and beautiful images.
I have no affiliation with Stacy Stamps,
I just think they have wonderful stamps
and wanted to share with y'all.

Cute as a Bug!

It's time for another Eureka! Stamps Challenge.
This week the theme is Pregnancy/Baby
I chose to do a double page scrapbook layout
of my daughter when she was a baby.
I used several different stamps from
for this project.
All images were colored with FlexMarkers
Many of the images are only a portion of the original image.
I just colored the parts I wanted and fussy cut them.
Here are the images I used.
They are available in digital format,
but I used red rubber stamps for all of mine.
"Lg Chicks in Egg" (#3406)
"Bunny with Flowers" (#13407)
"Baby Animals (#40204)
"Lady Bug Border" (#25302)
"Party Poopers" (#14303)

"Not Corrected" (#5310)

"Lion Balloon" (#8009)
"Parrot Balloon" (#23906)

"Monkey Balloon" (#24101)
"Moose Balloon"  (#11804)

Little gift bag.

My son came to me the other evening
and asked if I had a bag for a little gift for his girlfriend
or if I could "fix one up" for him.
Here's what I came up with.
I used "Tulips" (#28502) from
I used the same technique
as I did for the Mother's Day card in my last post.
I just thought they were so pretty
and he just wanted something simple, but nice.
Lauren, his girlfriend, loved it.
It was an easy way to pretty up a bag, don't you think?

Come again soon.

Mother's Day challenge

Mother's Day is almost here and this week's
Eureka! Stamps Challenge theme is
Mother's Day.
I chose to use 2 different images from
"Tulips" (#28502)
"Butterfly and Sunflower" (#20801)

I stamped the tulips across the bottom of a piece of white card stock
and colored them with water color crayons.
I then stamped them again on some scrap white and colored select tulips.
These tulips I fussy cut and adhered them over the tulips on the background piece with foam tape. I also cut some random tulips and added them with foam tape to give more feeling of depth.
The butterfly was colored and cut from the stamped image of
Butterfly and Sunflower as I only needed the butterfly.

Here is a close up picture that shows the layered tulips.
The blue background was created with water color crayons
and a good amount of water.
The sentiment is printed from my computer.

First Communion Card

Talk about leaving things till the last minute!
My great niece, Emilee, is making her first communion and of course I wait until the night before to make the card.
I've known about this for almost a month, but leave it to me to procrastinate!
Of course, when I went to look for the paper, that I know I have, with little crosses on it, I can't find it.
Could it be that I have a gazillion sheets of paper, or maybe that I have a bunch of my paper over at My Happy Place, the crafting studio where I work?
Well, my paper hoarding is for another post.
So what to do?
I decided to make my own paper.
I found an image that I could use from the internet and printed up some communion paper.
Below is the card I made.
Here it is, all folded up.  I felt the 'belly band' needed a little something more, so I wrapped it with gold thread and made a little bow for it.

Here is the card opened.  The center is a little pocket where we will put a little cash for her.  This style of card is great for gift cards too.
I also figured out how to use the envelope attachment on my
Martha Stewart scoring board and made a little envelope for it.
It measures 3.5" x 3.5" so making an envelope was the best bet.

Thanks for stopping by today!
I hope you will come back soon.
