Tag Kits

Hello crafty friends!
In October we had a 2 day crop,
complete with social distancing and masks.
One of the things we decided to do was a tag kit contest.
I went into my stash and found things that I thought
could coordinate on a tag and made up a kit for
each person that attended the crop.
My 2 "partners in crime" and I made up our tags
ahead of time to give everyone an idea of how to
use the kit.
Unfortunately, I forgot to take pictures of their tags
or the tags of all the croppers.
This is what I laid out when I was planning out my tag.
And this is the tag I ended up making.
Moved things around a little bit as I was working on
it and I was happier with the final result than the
original layout.
Everyone made the tags and got tickets for the
prize drawing for each of the elements that they used on their
tag.  Everyone was very creative and I wish I had remembered
to take pictures of the tags.
We may just do something like this again,
everyone seemed to enjoy it.
Thanks for stopping by today to see what
I've been up to.
Come again soon,
until then,
try something different.

Thanksgiving Onesie

Hello and Happy Thanksgiving!
I hope you are having a wonderful Thanksgiving
and have lots to be thankful for.
I know I do and one thing I'm extremely thankful for
is my granddaughter, Marie.  She has brought joy,
love and sweetness to this difficult time.
My daughter in law had some onesies sent to me
and told me to do whatever I wanted to them.
Marie needed a onesie for Thanksgiving and this
is what I came up with.
She has the best chubby legs ever and
I thought this suited her perfectly.
Jaryd and Sara love it and I know she's looking
cute in it with her "turkey" pants.
Here's a picture of Marie with her Thanksgiving
onesie, but she doesn't have her turkey pants on yet.

Thanks for stopping by,
come again soon.

Swap Christmas Card

Hello and welcome!
Today's card was made for a friend in
an art swap group I'm in.
I'm hoping that by the time this is posted
the card has arrived at it's destination.
It was sent plenty early, but had to go to
Australia and with the mail the way it has been
during the pandemic, I'm sure it's taking a while to arrive.
When the card is flattened, it fits into an
A-2 card envelope.
Take it out of the envelope and the base slides
down and the card is free standing.
The stamps I used are from the
This card is actually very simple to make,
but looks more difficult and impressive.

Thanks for stopping by and spending a little
time with me.
Come again soon,
until then
try a new card design!

Strawberries for Marie

Hi!  I hope you're having a wonderful day.
Today I have some cute little strawberries to show you.
My granddaughter, Marie, turned one on
November 14th and Sara asked me if I could
make some strawberries for the party.
Marie absolutely loves strawberries so
they decided this would be the theme for her
party.
I found a pattern online, there are many to
choose from. and got to work crocheting them.
They don't take much yarn and they are fast
to work up.
I think they turned out very cute and
they are nice and soft, so Marie can play with them.

Thanks for stopping in today,
I hope you are well and keeping safe.

Snowman Card with Gelli Print Background

Hello Blog fans!
Today I have a cute Christmas card to show you.
I was cleaning out some things one day recently,
and found a few pieces that I had stamped and colored,
but never used.  This cute snowman was one of them.
I fussy cut him and adhered him to a
gelli print background that I had recently made.
I think he looks quite cute.
He'll be sent out to someone this Christmas season.

Thanks for popping in today.
Have you made your Christmas cards yet?
I hope you'll stop again soon,
until then:
finish up something you set aside.

Scarf set for Marie

Hi blog fans!
Today I have a little different project to show you.
My granddaughter celebrated her first birthday on
November 14th and I wanted to knit something for her.
I decided on a hat, scarf and mitten set.
This is what I started with.
I saw this big spool of coordinating yarn at the
store, it happened to be on sale and I thought it
would be perfect for this project.
I'm sorry I can't link you to any patterns,
because I just flew by the seat of my pants
for these pieces.
I looked at a few patterns for hats and mittens
then made up my pattern as I went.
They were all actually very easy to make,
my only problem was knowing what size to make
them.  I did get an estimate from a couple patterns
I found online and guesstimated as I went.
I did pretty well, the only thing is that the mittens
are a little long, but that's okay, they will stay in the sleeves
of her jacket better this way.
Here are a couple pictures of Marie in her scarf set.

I'm glad you stopped in today and I hope
you enjoyed my post and will come again soon.
Until then,
try something different!

Another Gelli Plate Card

Welcome to Kristie Kreates
Today I have another Gelli Plate print card to show you.
I started with this print that I pulled from my
Gelli Plate.  I had been playing with some paints and
alcohol ink on the plate and got this lovely subtle
print that has some nice texture.
I simply cut it down and adhered it to a rust colored card base.
I will wait until I need a card to add a sentiment or a focal point to this card.
Or I may just use it as is.  I love it and hope whoever receives it will too.

Thanks for stopping in today to see what I've been up to.
Come again soon,
until then,
have a fun play with some paint or ink.

Llamazing!

Welcome!
A while ago my daughter in law had some
 sent to me from Amazon.
I can't tell you how much I love this stuff.
It's hard to see in the pictures, but depending on the
angle you look at it and the lighting, it is different colors.
It is the coolest stuff ever.
I made this llama onesie for Marie as my first project.
Don't know if you can see the color difference
in these picture, but in real life they are so
cool.
Sometimes it looks very purple,
Sometimes it shows as green.
There are several different colors and I can't
wait to use them all.
I have another project in the works as a
Christmas gift for my
Godchild.  I'll show it when it's finished.
If you do any kind of  HTV projects,
check out this cool HTV it cuts beautifully
and weeds easily and feels smooth and soft once
it's on your fabric.
The llama file was bought through
The Silhouette Design Store
It's called Llama Mandala Zentangle.
They have a number of different designs
like this and the price is very reasonable
at only $.99 each.
I'm so glad you decided to visit today,
I hope you have been inspired in some way.
Come again soon,
until then
try a new product!

Gelli Plate Card

Hello blog friends, I hope all is going well with you.
Today I have a card to show you that I made from one
of my Gelli prints.
I used a variety of paints and ink on my Gelli Plate
and pulled this print.
I love the color combination and the abstract look of it.
I cut it to a size that worked for the print then layered it
onto a piece of purple mulberry paper, then onto
a white card base.  This card works for any occasion at
all.
I do love my Gelli Plates and the pieces I get from using them.

Thanks for stopping by today,
I hope you enjoyed your visit and will
come again soon.
Until then,
think outside the box!
If your interested in how a Gelli Plate can be used
Her techniques are a little different than what
I usually do, but I think I need to try some of
them too. Check it out and see if it's something
you'll love doing.

Sara's Birthday Card

Good Day!
My daughter in law, Sara, just celebrated her birthday.
Today I'm showing you the card I made for her.
This card had quite the evolution.
I started by finding a purple background in
my stash, as her favorite color is purple.
At that point I had no idea what I was going to
do with it.  Then I decided that I wanted to emboss
a piece of acrylic and see what I could come up with.
I used an embossing folder with tiny hearts on it.
I can't find a link to this particular folder, but there
are several varieties of this online.
I had a bit of vellum with music on it and
added that to the background.
I then used scotch tape to hold the background
and acrylic together, then had to figure out how to cover
that tape up.  I scored a piece of card stock and folded
it over the top to cover the tape and make it into an
actual card.  This worked out great for a unique card.
I cut the words out of a scrap from the same background
piece, using my
and adhered them to the acrylic piece with
The last thing I did was add some of that
glue behind the letters so the acrylic would
adhere to the background, this worked perfectly.
Sara loved the card and how unique it is.
I was pretty happy with it myself.
Sometimes flying by the seat of my pants works
out great.
I'm so thankful to have a wonderful daughter in law
like Sara!

Thanks for stopping for a visit today,
come again soon.
Until then,
fly by the seat of your pants and see what
you can create.

Watercolor card

Good day y'all!
Today I have a card for you that is a little different
from anything I've showed you before.
I was inspired by my favorite
water color artist YouTuber,  CeeCee, and
If you are interested in water colors and want to watch some
relaxing videos, CeeCee is someone to watch.
Her YouTube channel is
CreationsCeeCee
She is very relaxing to watch and I have learned a lot from
watching her.
I usually use my watercolors for backgrounds or for
painting stamped images, but I want to become better at
creating more with them.  So I gave it a try and I am pleased with this
little painting and the card I made with it.
Thanks for stopping by today,

Thanksgiving Card

November is upon us.
For me November is special for a couple reasons.
My birthday is in November and it's the month
where I concentrate on things I'm thankful for.
Today's project is a card that I will be sending to
my Aunt Marilyn.  Aunt Marilyn was my Mom's
best friend for almost 90 years.  She lives in a nursing home
in Charlotte, NC and is now 97 yrs old.  She is one of the
sweetest ladies you'd ever meet.
This card started out as a Halloween card,
I sketched the pumpkin, then decided to cut it out
into pieces, and layered it onto the patterned paper.
The leaves at the top and the stem are cut out from a
patterned paper that is all leaves and flowers.
I thought it looked more like a Thanksgiving card
than a Halloween card, and will be perfect to send to her.
I am so thankful that I have had Aunt Marilyn in my life
and that she can still be part of my life.
I haven't been able to see her, because of Covid,
but I've talked to her and she is doing well.
She did test positive for Covid earlier in the year,
but luckily she didn't have any symptoms.
She's one strong lady!
Do you have someone special, like this, in your life?

Here's a picture of my sweet Aunt Marilyn,
this was taken at the beginning of Covid when
the nursing home had just closed to visitors.
They set up a photo booth and put a sign next
to her that said I miss you and sent me this beautiful
picture.  Doesn't look 97 yrs old, does she?

Thanks for stopping by today and spending a little time
here.  I hope your come again soon,
until then,
let someone know you're thankful for them.

Smile and Congratulations

Hello and welcome!
Today I have a couple more 2 for 1 cards.
For these two cards I embossed some white card stock with
the Octogon Embossing Folder from Darice.
I then used Mustard Seed and Carved Pumpkin
Distress Inks to color the embossing with an ink
I cut the embossed piece into two pieces and used one for
this card.
I used this sentiment inside the card,
(sorry I can't find a direct link)
For this card I used the other half of the embossed piece
and a congratulations from my stash of stamps.
For both cards, I cut down some scrap pieces of coordinating
card stock and added little strips to finish off the card.
I'm happy with how these cards turned out.

Thanks for stopping today, I hope you have been
inspired in some way.
Come again soon.
Until then,
try something new.
